I have tried to find this song for so long. Makes sense now that I know it was cut. Though I still think it was one of the best songs from the show. Great for an intermission.
If you pay attention to the lyrics, some of the lyrics in Feeling Electric are similar to those in Wish I Were Here. "Plug me in and turn me on. Flip the switch, I'm good as gone."
Sara Nicole I like how “what are you doing in my hallucination” is switched to “what are you doing in my electricity” in Wish I Were Here. A nice plug to this song.
@BwayBoundChristian o ok thank you this makes sense and i loved this musical. It must be fascinating to be able to play two different parts in an outstanding musical. I loved "Light" especially when the LED lights actually warmed up the audience. I love the actors.
Brilliant staging, awesome song, but it makes sense that they cut this. Makes the whole electroshock therapy more of a joke than something dramatic. N2N for the tony!
i def agree. this song was needed for the therapist's character. and the later lyric "and you're not a scary rock star anymore" doesn't really make sense with out this song. and it plays to like 4 plot points in the show, it only makes the plot better.
The Scary Rockstar line makes a whole lot more sense now. I'm not crazy about Natalie's part in this song. I don't like how she's acting all high. It's just... it doesn't quite fit.
I think they should have kept the song but not had the doctor take off his scrubs. I feel like that would have kept the intensity of the song and not turned it into a joke.
Oh man, this song completely blows "Wish I Was Here" out of the water. I don't give a damn that it wasn't a perfect fit with the show, they should have kept it. Total awesomeness.
@songsparrow882 This was not replaced by Wish I Were Here, but originally this song preceded it and both were in the show. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe Wish I Were Here was shorter originally.
The lighting in this song, I feel depicts ECT better, and it is much more dramatic than Wish I Were Here. Although I think the rockstar persona is a bit weird.
Ok. I love the song, Too good, but i also think it's not nessasery. It makes the doctor look like a villain and his character i don't think is big enough to have his own song. Also, is this from the off broadway version or the preivews on broadway? And is this Jennifer as Natalie cause it dosnet seem like her. Same with alice. But it is a good song.
i might like this better than wish i were here but wish i were here fits more- but do they still have the scary rock star line on Broadway? or did they take that out? cuz if they still have it this song would make it ten times funnier.
@TotallyRandom6353 Have you seen the show yet? If not, I suggest watching the off Broadway version posted on UA-cam. It's the only complete one I can find. During that show, Dan takes Diana to the doctor, claiming that he is a real "rock star" when it comes to treatment. Diana then starts having delusional bursts which portray the doctor as a rocker, hence this song and the doc's persona.
oh god this is awesome!!!! but wish i were here is a better fit, still i wish i could put this on my ipod cause.. if i may be honest this kind of powns =]
I am kind of mixed on this song! It is very creative and dramatic as a final to act one, but seemed a bit overdone at times (Natalie especially)! The lighting and stage effects were awseome and the song was the doctors moment to shine! Diana refers to how after her ECT treatments that, the doctor was not "A scary rockstar anymore"! I guess she is refering to this?
but then asa sommers wouldn't be on it... i have tried listening to other people sing this... and it doesn't work. he's just too amazing. but it was my favorite song from the show and i'm sad that its gone. =(
Wish I Were Here is much much better, especially in context. Feeling Electric is a great song but in context it doesn't work with what the show has become.
yeah, i really don't like this at all. i think it's just way too over the top for the serious topic and i really like how they tailored the play to just be less showy like this. i think "wish i were here" fits the mood and message of this song better.
I love Next to Normal.
Love this song, but I'm glad they cut it. The critics were right, it just didn't do the show or the story and justice.
I have tried to find this song for so long. Makes sense now that I know it was cut. Though I still think it was one of the best songs from the show. Great for an intermission.
When Diana is strapped to the bed at the beginning for some odd reason it creeps me out. A lot, actually.
Thank you so much for posting these. This show is beyond amazing. I miss it...

I fucking love this song.
ITS SEIZURE HEAVEN.
BUT ITS AMAZING. this should be like...a music video...
WHY did they cut this? i just found it...wow, man, this is the coolest, besides "make up your mind/catch me im falling"!!!
Wow. The lighting here is INTENSE. And amazing. I think I will overstimulated for the next hour or so.
Brilliant staging, awesome song, but it makes sense that they cut this. Makes the whole electroshock therapy more of a joke than something dramatic.
N2N for the tony!
So interesting to see Asa Somers as Dr. Madden. I just saw him as Dan in SF.
Why would they pull this from the musical!?!? This is soooo amazing and it added alot to the musical which is already phenomenal! :)
i def agree. this song was needed for the therapist's character. and the later lyric "and you're not a scary rock star anymore" doesn't really make sense with out this song. and it plays to like 4 plot points in the show, it only makes the plot better.
I live for Natalie and Henry's dance at 3:53
The Scary Rockstar line makes a whole lot more sense now.
I'm not crazy about Natalie's part in this song. I don't like how she's acting all high. It's just... it doesn't quite fit.
I really like both.
I wish they had put all their cut songs as bonus tracks. *sigh* Maybe someday.
AAaaagh, Asa rocked this so hard!! I love him
"what are you doing in my hallucination?" XD
beltingtokra I love how they changed “hallucination” to “electricity” in Wish I Were Here
totally agree with you!!!!!
I think they should have kept the song but not had the doctor take off his scrubs. I feel like that would have kept the intensity of the song and not turned it into a joke.
Oh my god. This is awesome.
I like this song :) But I also like wish i were here
Oh man, this song completely blows "Wish I Was Here" out of the water. I don't give a damn that it wasn't a perfect fit with the show, they should have kept it. Total awesomeness.
I 1/2 agree.
I also think it's on the line.
But I love the song!
wow this looks and sounds great!
I really miss this song actually. I wish it was still in the show.
@songsparrow882 This was not replaced by Wish I Were Here, but originally this song preceded it and both were in the show. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe Wish I Were Here was shorter originally.
@PowerGlove79 Defenitely, Jeremy can hit insane notes, and I thought Asa made Dan a much more tender, loving character. I'm loving the Tour Cast.
Too bad that had to cut this from the show - it's electric!
this song is out of the show now (just saw it this week 2x in DC)
wish i could've seen louis doing this. seriously.
i wish there was a video of annaleigh ashford as natalie!!
Nat's got better clubbin' clothes in this than she does in WIWH.
i disagree with everyone which is weird, i really like this number, i think it fits fine in the story line
@Kroovy68 can you link me to the first part? i found it once but now i just cant find it
"It's always about you, isn't it?"
;D
Agreed!
@katiexoluvsbroadway you can put it on your ipod, there are websites that you can transfer a youtube vid into an mp3. google it.
The lighting in this song, I feel depicts ECT better, and it is much more dramatic than Wish I Were Here. Although I think the rockstar persona is a bit weird.

why does this song seem so...sadistic?
Not saying that isnt a good thing...but it scares me. x]
Omg I Am In LOVE With This Song Do You Know The Date This Was Filmed!
@SleepyheadProduction I know I bet the lighting designer was like "damn my brilliant design"!
lol, 2:57 is just my favorite part.
While he is on Vacation in Seattle doing Catch me if you can, Aaron will be replaced by Kyle Dean Massey
i might like this better than wish i were here but wish i were here fits more- but do they still have the scary rock star line on Broadway? or did they take that out? cuz if they still have it this song would make it ten times funnier.
anthony rapp was the assistant director.
@neilzgrrlfrend The actor is Asa Somers, who's now playing Dan in the national tour.
Anthony Rapp would have made a GREAT Dr. Madden. They could've kept this song in and it would have kicked even more ass.

And you're not a scary rock star, anymore :)
Ohai US National Tour Dan. :3
Of course they take two of my favorite songs out of the show. --__--
oh god this is awesome!!!! but wish i were here is a better fit, still i wish i could put this on my ipod cause.. if i may be honest this kind of powns =]

Do you have Super boy and the Invisible Girl?
michael greif
I'm seeing the show this Saturday. Aaron's last show
but then asa sommers wouldn't be on it... i have tried listening to other people sing this... and it doesn't work. he's just too amazing. but it was my favorite song from the show and i'm sad that its gone. =(
Is that Asa???
I actually might like the song a tiny bit more than Wish I Were Here, but I agree that it doesn't really fit. :p
I like this song but not in the musical it would do good as just a song about ECT on its own for some rock star.
@walls06 Couldn't agree more. Wish I Were Here so pales in comparison.
Is this Louis Hobson??
2:35 no, i wasnt hallucinating (haha) he DID do a pelvic thrust! lol!!
isn't he coming back in september? who's his replacement?
@coolness06 i saw him too!! wasn't he amazing?!
@coolness06 He's amazing as Dan, and I thought Jeremy Kusnier was incredible as Dr. Madden
Wish I Were Here is much much better, especially in context. Feeling Electric is a great song but in context it doesn't work with what the show has become.

i love this song... except the choreography that diane and natalie do i really awkward...
