For those wondering this is not a legit dance. It is just the basic skill training needed for more advanced choreography and movements for Chinese dance. Chinese dance was developed around 6000 years ago and combines elements of martial arts and various tumbling/acrobatic movements. Unlike ballet chinese dance focuses more on fluid round movements. Chinese dance has also drastically influenced other sports techniques and movements found in ballet, rhythmic gymnastics and gymnastics. That is why you cam find some similarities.
This is beyond amazing. Every single one of them has perfect timing and stunning flexibilty. Not only are they all stunning but they are all dancing perfectly uniformly which is pretty outstanding.

The harder the challenge and results are more beautiful! Beautiful movements on these youngsters, they are hard working artist, it's definitely not easy at all, it's dedication for sure!
Like my coach always says: No pain, no gain. There is always at least 50% pain to learn something new, or you're not doing it right. i think it's inspirational, these girls can be so proud of themselves, it looks beautiful.

it is one of the best in china...my fd's cousin was once a student there and she became a pro afterwards. she is so proud of her school and she says it is the hard work that helps her to handle all the difficulties in the ballet...but u know, some girls love it but some girls dont. so it just depends...there is no right or wrong....
Chinese dance is kind of performing arts, it's not like the hip pop dance everyone can dance on the street. Basic technique skills are required to learn Chinese dance.

Actually, I am a dance teacher and their hips probably have more strength than yours. As long as they are stretching properly and increasing their hip flexor strength, they are fine. Yes, many dancers end up having hip problems, but mostly because of bad training. And clearly these girls have had good training. In order to do all of those moves, they need to have a lot of hip strength and flexibility
but you need technique as a base for the emotion and individuality. yes i agree that theyre very robotic, but dance comes in many forms and you're missing the point of this one. this dance was choreographed to show off the dancers' technique and synchronization, not their emotions
wow , such discipline and coordination.. wow , i think chinese people are really made for synchronisation .. thei look similar often have the same height .. are slim .. wow
How flexible and elastic!!! They seem to have no bones at all. If I got one of them to be my wife, I would ask her to give me quite a few of those postures. Haha....!

okay so for those unfamiliar with Chinese dance education process: I spent five years doing things like this before they actually teach you a real dance. And even if you start doing real dancing 80 percent of training is dedicated to skill sets like the ones in the video. I m impressed by how they have a steady foundation, and jealous cuz i dont...
@trannelnav How do you know they were pushed to train?most girls were there because they love dancing, they were guided to have good hobbies by their parents after they were born. My son have 6 after school lessons each week and he love them very much,he was trained in Martial arts lessons as hard as these girls,but he never complain because he loves it.I once talked to him to stop the Martial aris lessons because it's too hard for him. He cried and told me he love it, so I can't stop him.
Dear Lilith: Haven't watched it but I'm sure you are right. Ballet has always been in synch with so-called Classical everywhere else:, why not here? . Euro-ballet got grafted onto older and probably more demanding Chinese forms. Try getting even a prima to do a grand jete with a rifle held high over her shoulder - she couldn't even try. - What ballet is now in China is - something that fuses court dance, Petipa and martial arts. Neat stuff for the pros. Not for kids - for teachers .
