I am of the opinion that every fighting game like guilty gear should have a story mode in the style of mortal kombat. I’m not saying that they need to have the same quality of cutscenes but the interactable movie type story mode is something I’m a big fan of rather than just watching a story for six hours.
i want more story based fighting games so bad (shoutout to tekken 8)
Guilty gear is like drugs but better.
I'm pretty sure that in Guilty Gear: The Missing Link, in order to unlock Testament and Justice you must simply clear Normal Mode. But to unlock Baiken, yes, you need to clear Normal Mode without using a continue, but you also must be using Sol or Ky, and then defeat her. You may use infinite continues against Baiken.
ACP's single player experience is, in my opinion, pretty good. Arcade mode is arcade mode ofc, but survival mode isn't just endless arcade mode cause you get to pick buffs for your character for ever daredevil defeated, meaning you can heavily customise them, also it's not endless, but it has like 200 daredevils or something, I don't remember. It also has missions mode, and some of the missions need a very specific strategy for the GGXX rank, and they also all unlock an illustration. There's also MOM mode, story mode, vs CPU, team vs CPU, and on top of that the moment you think you've learned all the characters, think again - there's EX characters who are different enough from the normal ones to keep it interesting. They're also GG generations mode and in GG mode insta kills can and will end the match like they did in GGML. There's so much in this game, I love it
Very great video dude. I'm basically almost the same exact way as you with GG being how I was actually able to fully get into fighters, with starting out with its music and then seeing Strive releasing and wanting to try out the series (although I ended up beginning with XX since I found out about it during the pre release and haven't actually gotten Strive until a few months ago). This series really just has an "it" factor to it that just endears me whole heartedly. And I will say that mainly Strive has it worst in terms of single player content besides maybe the original. XX has MOM mode, team battle modes, a story mode that has actual fights along with modified fights and branching paths and a unique survival mode that has you gaining buffs every 20 levels, and Xrd has a bunch of story content in its arcade mode and MOM is completely retooled to function more like Heroes and Heralds in UMVC3, allowing you to equip different perks and items to your character. But overall, great video. The algorhythm did its job well

Guilty gear some of my favorite characters in all of fiction. A couple of them are Potemkin, Johnny, and the smol child Ram.

They did what you're asking for; It's called Guilty Gear Isuka. You may even want to check out Guilty Gear Judgement too. I know you want it to exist AS the single player mode in a mainline title but they're at least compromises.

Not to mention Guilty Gear Overture, and Dust Strikers, which was a(not gonna sugarcoat it) less than stellar Smash style platform fighter. Daisuke was always keen on switching up the formula though.
