They make it sound like CC can’t play don’t they forget who she was in college she on the same level with all the other girls are in the W US team. Jealousy that’s what all comes down too. Just stop it we ain’t stupid.
These Olympic committees are often quite political in nature, & this women's basketball committee is notorious for it. The explanation that they simply chose the best team is definitionally false, because look at DT, BG, & Gray. Those three players, of course, should not be on this team if the only goal was to put together the best possible team. CC wasn't chosen, very likely, because of office politics, the office in this case being big time women's basketball. I also love how we're gaslighted by ESPN & the like when guys like Mike here say "Gee, I don't know anything about women's hoops...I mean how could I, I'm not a current or former WNBA player or analyst, so I'll defer to you, because this is more difficult to accurately understand than quantum physics. After all, the WNBA isn't simply women playing a game that I'm an expert in, it's women performing surgery on rockets...I guess while playing basketball?? I'm really not sure." That's a direct quote (don't try to find it). We're also being gaslighted when folks, usually women, say that y'all just don't understand the WNBA, it's always been a physical league & rookies are always picked on. That sentence, it turns out, is true. But Scott, Captain Riz (no one has ever called me that....well, my lovely wife did once when we were attempting role play, but we quickly ejected out of that & enjoyed 2.25 minutes of missionary sex), I thought you said they were gaslighting us?? Yes, it's the bit about so many women in & around the WNBA openly, via interviews, podcasts, & social media posts telling us precisely how they feel about CC...they're angry that "the one" has turned out to be a white young woman. Our lying eyes really are seeing them target her more than any rookie or any player ever has been on the court (look at the blitzing #s alone), & yes, they really are saying that they resent the fact that she's getting so much credit for the influx of fans & money. They say, not in coded language every time, that the focus should be off of her & onto the black women of the WNBA. The current best player in the league said this...many current & former players have said this, & many analysts & pundits are saying this. Our lying eyes & ears, it turns out, really aren't lying to us after all. The thing is, I get it...these are natural human reactions....just stop lying to us about it!!!
Arike even said she took her name out of the running because of basketball politics. It's funny to see people act like that's not a factor in order to justify it. I don't really acre about her being left off especially since they'll win anyways, but people having to commit so hard to the narrative that DT is of the best 12 players still and an injured Chelsea Gray in order to maintain that cc didn't deserve a spot is hilarious
Brianna Stewart was chosen for the last Olympic team right out of college. Same with Diana Taurasi four Olympics ago. There have been a handful of others as well. Clark is playing all star caliber ball so far so it wouldn’t be a stretch to add her to the Olympic squad.
@@dwightcurrie8316 USA basketball would have reaped tens of millions on the sales of Clark’s Olympic jersey alone. It seems that both the W and USA Basketball are treating their golden goose with contempt. Very strange.
@@tmgco Not "Seems", their Real Contempt is plainly Visible, to the point that they are More Than Willing to see that Mediocre League entirely Destroyed rather than see CC Succeed. That's some Delusional and Petty Jealousy, to a level I've never seen before
The only thing this lady says makes since is Chemistry-I.e. they don’t want to play with her. The best is someone who hasn’t played this year or a convicted player traded for with a terrorist is better look for the US.
Hold camp while she is playing in the college finals and then penalize her for not going to camp? These vets can’t work with a rookie for team perfor? If not, how great are these vets?
But Chelsey Gray is injured and they went with her? And Brittney Griner haven't played at all? Lady, what you are talking about, only by been visible now because of Caitlin.
Clark is the biggest star period end of story but you did not pick the 12 best these ladies just don't get it why your league is irrelevant they put a player on that has not played a game this season the lies are insane
Previously, four WNBA rookies - Rebecca Lobo in 1996, Diana Taurasi in 2004, Candace Parker in 2008 and Breanna Stewart in 2016 - have been selected for Team USA's Olympic rosters, while Christian Laettner made the 1992 'Dream Team' roster as an NBA rookie.
certainly the right choice is to take two players who haven't played for a year and one of them is currently injured and the other has been in prison. not to mention Taurasi who is 42 years old and has worse CC numbers. Between 4 years and 26 years CC she could be injured.
USA Basketball pretended to apply their subjective criteria when coming to the decision. Right decision or wrong, USA Basketball undermined themselves by waiting three days before offering their lame explanation. Everyone involved deserved better from USA Basketball.
No other woman on team USA is the all time college leading scorer. No other player on team USA has been targeted as a rookie as Clark. Jealously is the only reason.
Draya works too hard hating on Caitlin - diminishing her breaking records in the W already - while being on worst team w/ worst coach. CC is an alternate on the Olympic team. So clearly they don't think she's THAT bad. They kept Caitlin off team bc jealous vets don't want her to get a gold medal: i.e. "Chemistry." LOL.
Oh my goodness...I've been searching the UA-cams comments sections for so many years, waiting to find a truth teller. Here she is...every single word, the truth. Bravo!
World women’s sports is a humanitarian issue. 6,7,8 golds is not a flex, it’s an abject failure. Women across the world need American women’s help. All the nails, eyelashes, and fake hair needs to take step back and look around
Why can't we capitalize on her actually going through the tough parts and showing how she earned her spot? Much like Dawn...she didn't make the 1992 team and had many of the same accolades as CC...she worked harder and look at her now! We live in an instant gratification society. The media machine has overhyped her so much...she is a great player, but...let her grow and push through some adversity!
@@AmourThink79 She’s the most skilled 3 point shooter in Women’s basketball history. Basketball is a game of specialization in your role. The only reason she’s not making the team is cuz DT wants to axe her Olympic medal goat arg short by using her influence to keep her off the squad so that she never eclipses her in golds. It wasn’t fair that Dawn got cut and it’s not fair Caitlin got cut either. That’s aside from my main point tho: the wnba won’t be as popular in 4 years if you don’t do everything to harness the Clark hype now. Even if she makes it in 2028, the hype surrounding her will likely be gone as will be the chance to garner international interest and capitalize on her US jersey sales. It’s true she’s not the best player in the wnba, and better players like Arike are worse snubs from a skill perspective, but flashy sells (logo 3 capabilities). If the “great white hype” argument was true then players like Stewart and Ionescu would’ve had far more hype surrounding them. But it’s just Caitlin Clark
