Thank you for an amazing show Dwayne. I really enjoy your content and your enthusiasm for this amazing game! I joined Splinterlands in 2021. I started by purchasing 1 bcx of all the ghost cards and played in Bronze. I didn't earn much but I really enjoyed the game. I later bought 1 bcx of a large number of different cards so I could have a diverse deck. Later I began levelling up those cards to bronze and was able to play in the silver league. I really enjoyed playing in the silver Meta and would occasionally buy more bcx to upgrade to my cards to maxed silver. This allowed me to dabble in Gold League. When the team decided to eliminate leagues my journey as a casual player who slowly bought cards to advance through the leagues was brought to an abrupt halt. I really like this game and have purchased a maxed deck of Chaos legion to be able to earn, but I have to say that without the league caps there really is no fun to be had in this game for the casual player. I really enjoyed learning the Meta of the League I was in and knowing what I was up against. I have purchased a bot and am running it in wild until (Fingers Crossed) the caps come back. Oscu thank you for mentioning how the casual players have been eliminated from this game. I feel that the removal of league caps is the biggest threat to expanding the player base in this game. If all casual players are to be disregarded perhaps we should rename the game to SplinterWhales?

Love the content, love the game, community etc...Yes, it's still fun. With that said, I too have had to setup camp in the wild league after the pseudo removal of the league level caps and recent changes, as a former Modern Diamond 1 player I'm now just a Silver II surfer, the struggle in modern is real!! If in fact the bot farms are feeding off of each other in the wild league as Oscu mentions in the video, we have just another perfect storm brewing for an end game bot takeover scenario playing out right before us. The compounding effect of the new glint reward system will affectively allow the bot farms to front run the new reward cards for the rebellion set, upon its release their reward cards will most likely be maxed out! What's so interesting is the human players have essentially been pushed out of the modern league into the wild format atleast if they want to feel good about their win loss ratio and so from what I am extrapolating, As a human player, I wouldn't get too comfortable in wild league either, looks like I'll be roasting my marshmallows over on land until that becomes too crowded. Couple questions, how will the current setup attract a new player base and where exactly would a new player fit into this game or find any kind of success?
Yeah i left modern cuz way too hard and to my surprise wild is super easy, at least so far and I just reached gold. I was just doing bronze before in modern. It does seem I am playing tons of bots though lol. I wish splinterlands wouldn't make such huge changes unless extremely rarely.
Great talk! Oscu hits a lot of points that I've been extremely concerned about lately. Hope the team recognizes some of these concerns, as they are very real. But I also remain 'cautiously optimistic'!
Even if I'm salty about the changes I hope the Splinterlands will change for the better in the last Q of the year. Thank you for the video Dwayne and thanks for sharing your ideas Oscu.

agreed, what stood out to me when I started in 2021 was all the talk of how they were focused on people in "3rd world" countries being able to earn money for food and necessities. All my friends from these countries have left the game long ago,
I feel like they are just killing the game in every single way. They keep adding new cards that nobody can afford to get. I have maxed choas and mostly maxed riftwatchers and over the last months I have lost thousands of dollars in the cards market. Asset prices just do not stop dropping, I have been holding since 2021, but the only thing I have seen is cards going down in price and I feel like they should just make it so that card maintain value. I am starting to lose hope, but will not sell. How will they attract potential players to buying cards if they just drop and people can see how the market evolves? I feel like that is the main problem, people are seeing cards drop in price and thus they will also sell and lose hope, not necessarely because they think the game is bad, but they just do not want to lose even more money. What are your thoughts on this?
@rexa5073 the project is an unregulated scam with illegal insider trading going on in-house, it is also designed as a long form pump and dump and has ran is course. Those left are just the frogs that let the water boil them over time.
Agreed there is no value on "scarcity" in this game which arguably is the only reason alphas etc had the value they had , so from a collector perspective there is no reason to hold on to anything anyway because there is no increase in worth whether through utility or rarity.
This is a very valid point. Scarcety is the magic word here. Make cards scarce again, not by price but by number of issued cards. Like in A/B/U/D. When most people entered you could not buy packs from SPL so you had to buy from the market. More demand hit limited supply in 2021 - Booom! Card prices go through the roof.
This is what we need, not some stupid card sinks which are not implemented in time...
Yabapmatt and team may need to consider enabling players/bot owners to rent/sell these soulbound reward and gladius cards for Glint. This can be an addition to the DEC sales/rental market. I believe this will help ensure new players/bot owners continue to have access to legacy reward/gladius cards.
Btw Oscus a good guest. Well, most people coming on are so thats nice. Lets have another of these with Oscu.

We literally have a PASSED VOTE for implementing CP requirements in wild in which case bots would not be earning so much but Matt is choosing not to implement that or similar solution. This way "just soulbound" and "no sps" bots would not be allowed to earn at certain rankings . And its THE EASIEST THING IN THE WORLD for not even bronze lvl cards to be in diamond 2 + . I have several . I am DISINCETIVIZED TO PUT ANY sps on them because if I put 10k sps I dont get more than 1.07x multiplier . Why would I do that when I have 1x anyway?
2 big changes splinterlands needs to make to possibly save the game
1. Player versus environment mode. We need a game mode where players do not play against one another or a bot, they play against the splinterlands designed game opponent. The team can make the difficulty low at lower levels to keep newer players engaged and able to win more often but challenging for higher level players. No more need to worry about player liquidity, you can always play against the game, not another player which maybe a bot
2. All soulbound cards that a player has now or can earn in the future is automatically unlocked and sellable once a player has x0,000 sps staked. The team can determine what amount is appropriate
Players that have thousands of dollars invested in the game can sell, delegate, and trade any card. Bots or bot farms will be forced to buy and staked a large amount of sps to sell these cards which will help push up the sps price
10,000 bots would need 200,000,000+ sps or so to sell cards for example. Maybe the team decides 30k or 40k is needed
good video, as illuded to at the end, we have not even had alt coin season yet, and it is coming, no doubt, so that is when we will know the fate of splinterlands, if it doesn't pick up in alt coin season, the game is done imo, so this is a very important time for splinterlands to position itself in time for alt coin season, now is the time to work on things to make it attractive and as fun as possible, i predict September time at latest we in alt coin season
I'm one of those players with a mostly silver level deck. I spend around $15 every month on Splinterlands and will continue to do so, however Oscu is right in that lots of people on my level are struggling with the new changes. I know several people that have left and no doubt more will follow. Meanwhile I will keep going while buying and levelling my cards as others sell up. If the game fails I'll not have lost much and I still enjoy playing so to me it's worth waiting to see how this all plays out.
Maybe this is where battle pass comes into play. Either have SPS or purchase a monthly Silver/Gold/Diamond Battle Pass that limits your earning potential unless you have the staked SPS. Easier to understand than renting SPS but you can still rent the SPS and it would be priced to be cheaper than the monthly battle pass.
Additionally, a PVE mode that gives us something to do outside of PVP battles. I'm still playing games that, after years, i'm still not fully maxed and don't give me any payout because there are other factors that make it fun to log in daily.
I HAVE 100% same situation as Dwayne in modern. Gold league stuck ,same deck basically. Its simple : Players that couldnt afford to max out their cards have Quit the game or botting. And Matt has maybe reached goal to put me and Dwayne and others at place of 50% winrate as He Planned BUT we forgot that that IS FRUSTRATING . And SPL has Never been like this .Always weak bots to beat up on. How will this progress in terms of desire to play? Hmm
Players/bot owners can continue to "play and earn" as long as they're focused on positive EBITA rather than continue to add "new" money into the pot. They can continue to utilize the current roadmap, ecosystem and economy to net positive reinvest a percentage back into the game so the individual/bot can continue to "earn."
Now that we are all playing diamond level decks whether we got the cards or not there is no point in buying new cards for me because underleveled they are not enough and too expensive in comparison. When we could be in silver or gold it was ok to get some bcx of cards.. now ,not so much. So ,will we miss that money from 100s or 1000s of players that left that would have bought like 1/3 of the max cards?
Ooof If I zoom out--this conversation seems grim haha It's like they're talking about their friend who has stage 4 cancer and how he "might" survive. I think SPL needs to look at the changes they've made that are killing the game: Split leagues, bot bans, hyper over inflation of cards, killing the rental market, soul bound, glint instead of focus chests etc. The game used to boast 400,000 unique accounts or something like that now these guys are talking about 500 daily players ?! Yikes.--clearly certain changes have not worked--clearly the medicine has been worse than whatever illness the game may have had

Didnt invest anything in to the game for year because i saw where it leads. Still playing and havent withdraw anything from it simply working with what game give me.
Up untill two last updates i could say it gave me enough so i can play. Now i am playing just to see where it will end.

Well, if you got 5k sps staked at diamond 1 you get 1.03x instead of 1.00x -so might as well unstake those 5k sps..its broken sps multiplier situation. regardless of if we should remove 1x ..matt fucked up by not changing sps staking also when changed no league cap.
I'm losing the fun on it, unless iwhen playing for leaderboard. Now just focus on grind. Reward is not fun anymore. Its been long time i never see anyone flexing .. oh i got LGF, o got Rebelion pack oh i got 4 digit SPS ..
I was doing bronze in mosern but with removal of level limits it isn't fun or fair, so I have tried wild, which I have been very surprised to see is almost the opposite. Probabjy tons of bots but really easy to win and accrue glint. I'm already in gold league and have hardly any silver league cards
Question. Can we have names of that accounts that are in diamond 1 /champ with only SB cards and summoners ?????? Cuz i have some doubts about that. And when people talk shit i Just get nervous. I have accounts in wild with cards rented and summoners , a lot, and they dont hit champ 3, maybe diamond1 but still this accounts cant compete and stay diamond 1 for 1/2 days almost.
THE PROBLEM ISNT THAT THERE WERE TOO MUCH CL PACKS , the problem Is that aggy sold them lower and lower by giving discounts and inflating other assets while buying CL packs, that's the reason why CL packs cost so low, cuz when you bought 4$ of CL packs you diddnt bought only the 1CL pack, but you bought a lot more things, so CL packs never had 4$ value but very low, and now we see their real value , plus some Lost value cuz people were scammed by aggy and are giving up , losing assets value by selling everything in discounts trying to get out of here. All cuz aggy fault plus people Who got scammed and diddnt see the true about aggy when i was One of the few Who Spike Truth a d were banned from Spl discord. Now you guys got wreked while i am making Money, as a investment cuz i knew what to do and how to act while speaking Truth in discord and the people diddnt believe me( and now they are screewed) ahahaha. I told you guys. While now with Matt here i am very Happy, and also i Will buy a lot of packs from the next edition( a full deck if dosent cost more than 10k) cuz with Matt here things are more Fair and he dosent try to scam us.

Such a longshot, game is struggling and it's on Hive which is basically another abandoned Dan Larimer project. Could go ham, but like most channels l, this one seems extremely chain biased. Chech out dcrops, 1:01:31 golden overlord, and truthfully try and keep a straight face.
I think we need to step back for a second and look at this from a fresh perspective. The problem here may be that you were use to your ranking BEFORE the new changes (which was skewed or misleading). If you were a new player with the deck you have currently and this was the only ranking system you ever knew within Splinterlands… you would be totally fine thinking hmmm… I guess with my deck and talent I’m a Gold 1 Player and you would be fine with that because that is just what it is.
Personally I think the previous rating system was HIGHLY misleading. Compared to the new changes there were a ton of very good players who were deliberately staying at the top of Bronze, Silver, and gold which focused on owning those leagues. Now that the rules have changed and they can no longer do that we are seeing a much more higher level competition happening AT THE TOP… therefore it is probably 2-3x more difficult to get to higher leagues. - @Tiesparious (SPL Handle)
I think what we are seeing now is the TRUE ranking of Splinterlands players (in modern).
It is now VERY competitive at the higher levels. I had a feeling this would happen before the rule changes because I would have a VERY hard time trying to get out of Gold 1.
If you think about it… Gold 1 was much harder than fighting in Diamond. After you were able to get out of Gold you would fly through Diamond.
I believe that Gold 1 and above no longer has anything to do with having a max deck… it’s now more focused on talent/gameplay ability. Which is what sports is about. Just because you have the best equipment doesn’t necessarily mean you can be a “Champion” (pun intended).
