FB Rx-7 Crazy Detail Revival

Car came out good but she still needs some work. In the future it might be time to wet sand and really get it into the clear to get the scratches out.

That interior cleaned up nice. You should try to get some Mazda speed seats. I know a friend of mine put them in his fc when he had it. 😊

My family bought an RX-2 on Okinawa two years before we came back to the states and it was a fun car to drive. I'm pretty sure we still had the RX-2 when the RX-7s came out. I remember being wowed by how great the RX-7 looked especially compared to the clunky garbage the Big 3 were putting out in the late 70s. Even today the RX-7 looks great.
Our RX-2 was kind of a mixed bag for us. After a while driving the car at highway speeds in the US the well known early rotary engine problem of the combustion chamber buckling outward hit us and the entire engine had to be rebuilt. EXPENSIVE!
The top speed limit on Okinawa is only 37 mph, (60 kph) so the engine never got a full workout at higher speeds, and might have lasted forever at those slow speeds. Back in the USA however, going 65 to 70 mph put a strain on the combustion chamber that it couldnt withstand.

Wow thats an awesome story. I would love to have a Rx-2 in my collection someday, but this is my step into the rotary life. Can not wait for the snow to melt and get it on the roads.
