yeah, very nice, all around. lovely tones and choice playing. For another review go check out Tory Slusher. She is also amazing and had a fantastic review of the Essential.
Thanks for the great content as always Tomo. I love this guitar as my travel machine. I saw it was coming and preordered the red. I wanted the straight frets over fanned. I’ve had it a few weeks now and for my first Strandberg I’m so impressed. I’m glad to see you joy it as well. Keep the positive vibes coming Sensei.
I have the purple one. It's amazing. Just for the heck of it, I upgraded the pickups to Bare Knuckle Polymaths. No change to appearance but a big sound upgrade. The neck pickup is incredible and like you said Tomo the guitar just rings acoustically. I just bought mine for travel but it's SO much more than a travel guitar!
Amazing review Mr. Tomo! The jazzy and funky tones actually made me consider buying one of these. I wonder if the difference between the Boden Essential and the Sälen Jazz is too much. Greetings from South America, Chile.
I have played Boden's three times in shops and never liked the tone. Haven't liked the tone much on any of the other reviews for the Essential but you make it sound great Tomo. I am thinking go one to use when I fly on business and your tone makes me consider it, having discounted it in the last few days.
I'm glad you seem to like this instrument. I've been playing headless ergonomic guitars for about 20 years now and truly enjoy them. Changing strings on the Strandberg is really quick and easy. Place the ball end of the strings in the tuners on the body, put the string through the mechanism near the nut, pull tight (not too tight) and lock the string with an allen key... tune to pitch and cut off extra string length. I'm very curious to know the brand and model of the solid state amp you're playing through... you're getting some great tones out of it. Hope you have time to answer. Best regards from Montreal Canada!
Thank you so much for sharing Tomo! The Strandberg sounded absolutely amazing! the way you play also makes the guitar stand out. My only question would be does it have a floating bridge to dive bomb with or to use as a vibrato, I did not see a trem arm so maybe it's a hard tail. Thanks again.
I think the 25 1/2 mensur and the new much more "simple" bridge makes way more of a difference than is explainable, comparing with all the fanned fretted Strandbergs I've played. For the better that is, in my opinion.
@@stoneyroberts9118 that's literally the only thing that's keeping me from buying this. I'm still strongly considering one. But I like how this model has the regular nut so no pinging across the zero fret when you bend strings. Of course their trem models have zero frets, which I've experienced the pinging or scratching deal with. Hmm...such a hard decision. I love the idea of the ergonomics and light weight but I just don't know if it'll ever beat a double locking trem for stability
I would love to try one out some day. How was the transition from a "normal" neck to the Starndberg Endure-neck? Was it easy or did it take a little while?
I would agree with Tomo. It’s my first go on this neck as well and I feel it’s perfect and not noticeable. I almost feel it encourages even better training for thumb positioning when I go back to an old school neck.
I like the guitar and thought about buying one. They're not cheap. Anyways, me being hard of hearing, tuning a guitar is one of my biggest problem. I know they have electronic tuners. But there's so many of them and which electronic guitar tuning is accurate.
@@TomoFujitaMusic Yes I recall late 80's first seeing one with no headstock? Floyd Rose was still new and exciting too! By 2008 bought an ESP MII - NTB made in Japan and it’s still going strong. If it works it is good. 😍
@@TomoFujitaMusic I realize this but you mentioned in the last strandberg video that you were naturally pickup higher up on the neck, which is why I was asking about your height as im not sure if im to tall for this guitar.
I assume any guitar will sound great played by a good musician. Still, I need to change my worn out ibanez I have for 25 years... Maybe I could consider that one.
Why a Guitar with simple meranthi body, normal maple and rosewood neck must be good. It's a like any Harley Benton with less wood. Il don't understand. Also It have uncomfortable strings change system
Vader are my go to guitars, i have 3 builds but i never played a Strandberg so i really have no clue how good they are, im going to have to test drive one of these soon!
Finally someone who doesn't use the Strandberg as a brutal metal scrubber, but rather plays a fine, clear sound. Thank you very much! 👍👍👍
Glad you like it! Thank you so much!

Amen to that
It's a well-made guitar that will stay in tune and good intonation across the neck. Great sustain on these.
Great guitar! Thank you for!
These are amazing value for money and play amazingly well.
Great sounding guitar!

Wow that's awesome! Bare Knuckle Pickups are really great pickups and Tim is super nice guy! So happy to hear that!
One of the things I love about my Strandberg is how resonant it sounds before I even plug it in.
Yes! So good!
How easy is it to change strings?
What’s up my friend! New Guitar day is so much fun! Those headless guitars are so funky/jazz with your hands!!! Have a great day Tomo ❤

Just a great sounding guitar. It can do basically everything. Great video.

Sounds awesome on my headphones. Do you find it has enough resonance in the lower frequencies?

Pretty sure you could string up a French fry and put it in Tomo’s hands and it’ll still sound incredible.
Really cool but which amp is it ?
One Control BJF-S100
One Control Beth Reverb
String Driver 2-12s Cabinet
Grande uomo Guitar Straps
D'Addario Chrome ECG23 (10-48)
