    Congrats to the newest Laker Jeremy Lin. Finally a PG. I can say he's probably the best PG the Lakers has had since Magic.

      Too bad Kobe didn't like Lin

    • @robwebnoid5763
      @robwebnoid5763 24 дні тому

      @@egseven ... That was because Jeremy was living rent-free in Kobes mind for 2 years prior due to that famous 38-point Linsanity game. Kobe couldnt let go of that grudge, thats why. But Kobe made up later after Jeremy was playing with the Hornets. Jeremy was actually ok with the Lakers 2014, but the Lakers were crap that year. It was like Jeremy was trying to polish a turd (Lakers) to make it look better. In hindsight, Jeremy should have stayed with the Hornets for one more year. He broke team records there.

    I agree with you. Lin, his biggest problem is that he’s inconsistent. Sometimes he’d do awesome, especially when there’s momentum and adrenaline, but then sometimes he’d just collapse. Especially when he’s under extreme pressure, like up against the heat. If he could gain more experience in the NBA, I’m sure he’ll rise beyond that and become a better player.

    EVERY YOUNG BBALL PLAYER IN AMERICA SHOULD READ THIS:
    "After receiving no athletic scholarship offers out of high school and being undrafted out of Harvard University, Lin reached a partially guaranteed contract deal in 2010 with his hometown Golden State Warriors. He seldom played in his rookie season and was assigned to the NBA Development League (D-League) three times. He was waived by the Warriors and the Rockets the following preseason before joining the New York Knicks early in the 2011-12 season. He continued to play sparingly and again spent time in the D-League."

    he is getting better this year than last year, if you pay close look you will see even he was linsanity and everyone were crazy about him, but he definitely make much progress this year. the great thing about jeremy is he has the ability to turn weakness into strongness in very soon. if you remember last year people said he got too many turnover, and this year he still the point gurad, he minimize his turnover to around 3 from 5. and the most turnover made in the team now is big star harden.

    @jae2067 11 років тому

    yep, everything you said is correct. Under intense pressure from teams like the Heat or the Bulls, Lin turns the ball over a lot. Other than that, he is not a bad defender but he is way too weak to prevent other stronger guards like Westbrook or Rose from scoring. On a positive note, he has phenomenal passing and a somewhat consistent finishing ability

    Being ambidextrous in basketball is a huge skill. If you only go right, then the defense can always force you left and you'll be at a disadvantage. Also, it's much easier to block a shot when someone uses their right hand on the left side, and vice versa. Basketball is a game of adjustments and counter-adjustments. If they pressure, you drive. If they give you space, you shoot. You take what they give you. That's why it's important to be able to finish with both hands.

    If his shot develops, defense will push out and defend his three - i think this will give more opportunities to crossover and get into the paint. Has some similarities with a young Tony Parker, who took a few seasons to develop don't forget.

    his handles did look alot better than last season tho so i hope he keeps working on it, my whole point was people criticize lin for the wrong reasons all they had to say was work on his handles instead of blaming it on the coach or asking for a different big man

    I meant he had played less than a total of 1 hour before he became a starter PG for Knicks. In his pre-starter NBA games he was given to play only 2 minutes to 9 minutes per game, he didn't given play time in some games at all.

    Not never but I'm sure he is working on it.
    More importantly is his inconsistencies and 3pt range shooting and I'm sure recovering from knee surgery didn't help either.
    All of the above can be fixed, hopefully this coming season.
    He was getting better towards the end of the season (recovering from surgery) - April average stats: 17.3pt, 6.9ast and 2.6to. I think the worst is over, provided Lin stays healthy and is allowed to used as a point guard.

  • @arcticarcane
    @arcticarcane 11 років тому

    Lin's a great point guard. There are point guards who shoot, like Curry, Rose etc. and there are point guards who lead the team and pass a lot, Hinrich. Lin is both. We saw him in New York as a good shooting point guard who lead the team through points, but in Houston with the presence of Parsons, Harden, and soon Howard, we'll see him passing more than shooting.
    Jeremy Lin is a great leader and pointguard, lots of his shots are layups, but he has good 3pt range. Rockets won big on getting him.

    Asik and Lin were the only two players finished all 82 regular season games. The way Omer and Jeremy were treated, expect them to play with a huge chip on their shoulders, coming out swinging for season 2013-14. Throw in Beverley and a healthy Howard into the mix, it would be an exiting season. Lobs all night long, hope Howard buys into the pick-n-roll. Harden and Howard fighting for the alpha dog position, wonder if McHale is capable to smooth things out. My feeling Lin and Asik will be traded.

  • @killerxSurvivor
    @killerxSurvivor 11 років тому

    It's not about who scores more. For a point guard's perspective specifically. It's about how you help the team as a whole and play efficiently with the ball. And this is why giving Lin the ball more would of even benefited Harden. Lin is in fact the better handler. It's just logic. Put the best shooter on the wing and let the better handler handle the ball. Really, because of Lin's youth, being his first real season basketball, plagued with a few injuries, what he gave to the rockets was good.

    lin could do what he wanted in nyc at the rockets he knew he would not be playing the same type of game and he was going to be a team player and he is VERY solid nba starter and could score more if he had the green light, like back in nyc when they were in last with no wins and had nothing to lose so they let him do what he wanted and all the stars were hurt

  • @ddhtrfcs
    @ddhtrfcs 11 років тому

    While lin is not top 15 in the league, he certainly does have the potential to be one. He showed snippets of his potential all throughout the year, even if it was not consistent by any means. The biggest thing holding him back so far is the fact that hes not the main ball handler, harden has a higher usage rate than him, which is what should be happening. Lin needs to have the ball in his hands to make plays and play the way he wants, as showed when he played with datoni (pg is big part of syste

    I totally agree with you man... Mcfail always degrades Lin and changes topics when Lin does good. He played really well against the spurs and when Mcfail took him out of the game when Houston was winning they lost. Then Mcfail blames it all on Lin and says hes as you said selfish, and told him "We're here to win games, not show off." Mcfail is a double Mcfail.

    been watchin this guy since I saw him win the CA D2 high school championship. He has great talent and athleticism. He is not a star yet but he has the potential to be. I think if he had the right coach or vet player helping him learn more about the nba game, he could be more consistent. It would've been nice if he stayed in NY and had Kidd teaching him. Because Coach Smart, Dantoni and McHale weren't able to/didn't teach him shit and each of those teams didnt have great vet pg's

    You have to remember that this was basically Lin's 2nd (or 3rd if you count the times he barely played in gsw) season playing in the NBA. 12 and 5 is not a bad average for a player with his (lack of) experience. He'll improve. I bet if there was no harden, he could potentially average Stephon marbury-type numbers. But they wouldn't be a playoff team either.

  • @workhouse31

    He may not need to, but, he definitely has the work ethic, scoring ability, and playmaking to become a top level PG.

  • @awesomeanime100
    @awesomeanime100 11 років тому

    No, I mean when the good teams are trying to grapple for better seeds. The Rockets team became far less consistent, but Lin's shooting and assist numbers steadily improved. Even with his weak shooting in the first half of the season, he actually ended the season with a better shooting percentage than Harden (barely). And the Lakers went 28-12 then because Bryant changed his role. His injury doomed the lakers if they ever had a chance.

    How can anyone dislike McHale when he led Rockets won playoff championships since he became the team's coach since 2009. Only for the first time McHale as Rockets' coach he didn't get into playoff because Lin messed up big time and put Rockets under 500. LOL.
    McHale is always a happy, gentle, kind, polite and forgiving person, whereas Lin is a grumpy, sour-faced, arrogant, loud mouth unedcated punk, always complaining how bad McHale was a coach and never gave credit to anybody except himself.
