    This tutorial is fine. You should watch the ones in front since they explained alot in those, and this recaps a little on it before moving forward. Learn from imitating them and then explore and see what things to. Also this is a little dated, to make your spy hands show the armature you click the cursor looking button to the left at least that is how it is on mine. This sorta thing takes alot of time to start with and it's helpful to know terms. Also with them saying all those short cuts, its really worth while to as they say them do them on sfm, shortly you pick up on them and it goes much faster. Just take it slow and have fun making magic happen! Time to watch the next one.

    • @JonCundiff
      @JonCundiff 10 років тому +13

      I was a bit confused at first but I figured it out! And come to realize it was something I had figured out on my own accord while messing with something else. The word "selectable" is what is what throws it off.
      In the animation set editor, where you see RightFingers, for example, to the left of it will be a slightly faded out cursor. Click it and voila! Fingers for the right hand will be selectable. do the same for the LeftFingers. Also, if you notice, everything that is able to be modified, IE, has bones or whatever, will have the cursor there, faded out or filled in. Its also handy when you're trying to select stuff with Control and all the nodes get in the way. You can now hide them when working with say, a hand or something!
      I guess Valve did it to alleviate having to right click!
      Hope it helps.

    Be thankful, they gave us this tutorial ;and much less, that they released it to us all FOR FREE! If you have problems and you can't figure it out, ask someone who's run into the same problem (or knows how to fix it)! There are MILLIONS (and that's an understatement) or moders all across the world who can help you. Even if that help is in India, you can use google translate! Or just ask the Steam help desk! I'm not saying SFM is perfect fro me, heck I'm still trying to figure out how to get...

    • @Sontaburetski
      @Sontaburetski 9 років тому

      In order to fix it you now have to find the right thing you want to select in the animation set viewer then there should be what looks like a mouse courser next to it, if you can't normally select it, it should have a grayed out courser instead of a white/silver courser. Click that grayed out one to make it selectable.

    Hey, Does anybody know how to lock 2 hands to a weapon? Like with the sniper rifle, Thanks.

    • @AnErectCockTM
      @AnErectCockTM 9 років тому +1

      Valve added a feature later on to solve this problem.
      1. Right-Click on "sniper" (or whatever class you want to give a weapon) in the Animation Set Editor
      2. A drop-down menu should pop up. Click where it says "Add Team Fortress Item"
      3. A small window pops up with a list of items for the Sniper (or, again, whichever class you are giving the item to).
      4. A search bar should be at the top. Type in the name of the item you wish to give him.
      Once you click OK, the item will automatically be snapped to whichever part of the body it belongs. You may need to rotate it a bit however, as sometimes the person doesn't hold the item right. This will also work for cosmetics.
      Hope this helped.

      I'm sorry I'm a bit late but if you are still curious, what you can do is lock the gun to one of the hands like shown in the video and then proceed to lock the other hand to the root of the gun. So what it should work like is say, if the Right hand is the hand controlling the gun, the gun's movement in turn moves the 2nd hand. I'm bad at explaining but I hope you get it.
