Mam I have one doubt, u told base will give OH- ions but in CH3COOH and C6H5COOH also OH- ions are there then why it is still an acid and not base. Please say me why mam. OH- is not present in acid cuz acids functional group is COOH so they don't have ions they actually break as COO- THEY ARE called acetates

Ma'am, instead of water what if anything else is taken and acid /base/salt added to that liquid (which isn't Water),will the compound break into ions?Do they conduct electricity?
And also ma'am,u told that dilution is mixing of acid/base in Water.
Then it can also be called aqueous solution nah ma'am?
