The fact that an(I assume) well paid government agent can’t afford Brooklyn anymore.. sad. If only Cap had invested one paycheck into Stark Industries back in 1944.
Rhodey: You know, the War Machine suit is crazy strong! Tony: I, um, built it...so...yeah. Thor: I, uh, just do that daily. Read the room Rhodey. They respect him, the suit just makes that stuff boring. I mean, Thor seems pretty impressed, or at least respectful, of the WWII buddies Rogers invited to the party.
After six years I just now realized they invited WW2 veterans for Steve because he relates to their life experiences and can have someone to hangout with.
2:01 notice how thor hands steve a drink without hesitation whether he could take the liquor or not. There are a few moments like these in the movies that shows just how much thor respects Steve and I love it.
Well steve has accelerated metabolism which makes him immune to earthly alcohol, so he could easily take it and thor knew it because he had already seen his strength and all that
I also realized that Steve is the only person I've ever seen give Thor orders and he actually listens to them. Even with his own father, at first Thor was often disobedient, he's usually not one to follow orders because of his pride, so the fact that Thor willingly allows Steve to tell him what to do really shows the amount of respect Thor has for him. He follows Steve's lead, he's a god letting a human tell him what to do and he doesn't even mind. I honestly love their relationship because they both have an unspoken mutual respect for each other and even though they didn't seem like the best of friends, I really think they were.
That's why he did get drunk and it didn't kill him. An old man drinking a level of concentrated alcohol designed to buzz a literal God and not dying is all the proof you need
I love the little details in this party. From Caps old war buddies being there, to the introverted Bruce Banner awkwardly stumbling around. Really shows the care that went into the MCU
"This drink is not meant for mere mortal men." I know it's not the exact quote, but I love how as Thor's saying it, he doesn't even think twice about sharing some of it with Cap.
“Neither was Omaha beach blonde.” Just so badass because he wasn’t lying lmao the fact that he was still somewhat speaking is testament to the sheer balls those men had to have landing on that godforsaken beach
Fun fact: Stan Lee was in the Signal Corp for the US army during the 2nd World War. He held the title of playwright with a few other guys, including Theodore Geisel, aka Dr Suess.
rcmgamer218 yeah, I saw that too, and I believe that is why Captain AMERICA is a thing, showing the power of America beating up Nazis. And the funny thing is that Captain America’s first comic is him punching Hitler.
I know Stan Lee steals this scene, but Don Cheadle is an acting genius. The grimace on his face after he tells the "regular people" his War Machine story is priceless!
Looking back to this scene, Stan Lee no longer with us and Thor saying "I knew It" looking back to the scene that follows this, it was such a good moment that Stan Lee made his cameo in one of the most important pre End Game arcs of all time.
Ariyan Singh yeah thats why he said it is not for mortal men cap is not an mortal like iron man or bruce he is superhuman like panther I dont mean iron man only tony stark physicaly is mortal
At 2:00, Thor is talking about this ‘is not meant for mortal men.’ But has already given one to Cap XD I think Thor has always respected Cap as a man since he deflected his hammer in the first Avengers.
People hate on Age of Ultron but it was the perfect "Avengers" film. middle of their tenure, not starting up, not breaking up, just right in the middle.
I think this is my favorite Avengers scene: the party at Stark’s place. Seems so natural, real, warm and it shows their friendship and camaraderie. Also it feels earned: they saved the world from Hydra. They’re heroes, not snobs. It’s a party where you and I would love to be in. This scene is also pivotal for their character development: it reveals the true level of their knowledge about each other and how well they blend in. Banner is not a weirdo everyone is afraid of, Cap is not an old fashioned man. Stark is not so jerk, Thor doesn’t look like he’s at a Halloween party. It’s the most realistic portrayal of how superheroes would be if they existed.
It's probably strong enough to give cap a slight buzz I mean it was aged for 1,000 years. It will definitely not get him drunk however. His metabolism is so efficient in processing toxins that beer and regular "mortal" liquor really don't have an effect lol. In Cap America 1 he tried to get drunk of some liquor and it didn't work at all lol.
I like how Thor shared his drink with Cap. He kind of respected Cap since Avengers 1. They had a kinda brotherly bond in every avenger movie And in end game it's clearly seen ' I knew it'. I loved this duo 😍
It's also that Cap is immune to toxins to the point of being physically incapable of getting drunk. It's subtle, but that immunity is his one real superpower.
People always underestimate WW2 veterans. Still having the will to live after liberating a concentration camp and seeing all the horros there would make me give him infinitly more respect then some guy with a hammer
Avengers 1: Getting to know one another Avengers 2: Getting a little too comfortable Avengers 3: Getting a rude awakening Avengers 4: Getting a chance to hope again.
Ruben Diaz Wow, cool that you pointed that out, they fought at the same time and war! It could bring out so many feelings if the old gentlemen talked to Captain America.😢
Classic super-heros: “Our secret identity must NOT be known. The people close to us could be at risk.” MCU Avengers: “Let’s invite people to a party at our base!”
As multiple people already stated, none of the heroes in this scene had secret identities in the first place lol Iron Man exposed himself, War Machine works for the government publicly as does Falcon, Thor is...thor, Captain America’s ‘identity’ has been known for nearly a 100 years, etc
Dracos002 because he said this drink is not for mortal men, and he gives cap the drink casually, acknowledging that Thor sees cap as more than the average mortal!
This movie is so underrated. People hate it because the trailers made it look like a dark edgy movie but it just turns out it’s more Avengers. But Avengers is good for a reason.
So kids, one night Aunt Robin went to this party with the Avengers, and mocked the genius-billionaire-fanboy-philantropis Tony Stark and the God of Thunder Thor without blinking an eye
This is my favourite scene in the MCU. Instead of the flashy CGI battle scenes or battle planning or whatever, just the avengers team chilling out, bonding and having fun, shows it’s more than just fighting, hope they do more of scenes like this in the future.

Steve cant be drunk as evidenced by the scene in CAp 1 where he "lost" bucky
