Its the second chorus that hits me, when you finally have the full picture, and those heavy words from Livingston roll round again. The pain in it all, the rawness, it's unreal. What an incredible art form the both of these artists have mastered. And also, sending love. Must have been insanely hard to write lyrics around such a dark topic. Respect.
I loved this album. I stumbled upon your video & I cried watching this, Witt lowry has been such an incredible inspiration for me since 2015. I’ve met witt a few times and he’s such a great person man. So down to earth & i have nothing but pure respect for him. 🙏
When he was in Philadelphia and this track came on, it reminded me of my father-in-law and grandma, it reflected as he also lost his composure we had his back and sang the song allowing him to recover. It is amazing how his music has helped me.
There are still more seconds and he wouldn't want to see you stumble in his shoes (even if it might make him smile a Lil seeing you try) ... he's not gone yet.. dont give up what's still possible over what isn't... And the facts that you remember lyrics could help.... when it matters put it to music no matter how minor... my grandfather sat on his feont porch for the same times every day just so he could always say hi to the people who had become part of his life... shook their hand ... made sure to say their names ... most of which he remembered well past the point of forgetting his own.... I know it gets harder ever day... I ran away from those extra moments with my grandmother... I didn't make the same mistake with my grandfather ❤️❤️❤️
It's about his grandfather. "I remember the stories you told us about meeting gram" and then all the references about his grandma (who has passed) and his dad ( also, passed) looking down at their family.
Cliff, thank you so much for this one. I came across another reaction to this by chance a couple of weeks ago, but was running late for work and didn't have time to write his name or the songs name down and could not remember either. I have been trying to find it again since then but could not (wasnt even in my watched history anymore) and here you come with it. Thank you, thank you! So touching, so many messages here. Main one - spend time with those you love while they are here and can spend that quality time with you. I've lost almost my whole immediate family and this one just hits deep. ❤❤❤
My aunt has dementia. She's healthy, but she can't remember her children and anything that she just did within minutes. I have parents in their 90s and they are forgetful, but I'm grateful that they still remember me. This is the time when I, the child becomes the caretaker of the parents and it's not always easy, but I wouldn't trade this time for anything.
Witt, much respect to you man for the amount of vulnerability you opened yourself to with this song, and many of your songs. The raw emotion cuts through like a knife. Your work is so good and you'll continue to grow and expand your fan base with this honesty in your words. I'm definitely a new fan and will dive in to your catalog. Much love to you and thank you for supporting Cliff.
Man this one was hard to get through. My grandfather has dementia. He was the toughest one in the family and although he wasn’t perfect he taught me how to fish, work outdoors and how to survive in the wilderness…….. 😢
Man, you gotta check out more of his stuff! He is an amazing artist!!! Listen to the whole album and watch the full music video story he has on his channel
They say using your brain more, cross words, problem solving, and natural navigation is a big factor in the minds strength and the effects dementia can have..
In a similar way that you had to go in order with NF, you should def start with his early songs and work up to present time. Certain songs are very important to understanding what or who he is referencing in his later songs. Kindest regards and Like I Do are good starts. I've been begging for Reaper for a few months so I'm excited for you to get to that one
Yeah you gotta do this whole album + Nevers road (whole discog but especially ESPECIALLY THOSE TWO ALBUMS.) You're going to absolutely lose your shit over what he can do
Dementia is the worst. My grandma had it before she past. She would always ask where 2 of her sons were(they had past away) and my dad couldn't just say that they were dead...
Cliff brother if you've never heard it would you checkout Ivan b forgive me for my honesty. Also there's one called fake smiles by Nevv that is pretty good, if you get a chance and have never heard of them check it out.
Fire reaction please kindly react to Lyrical joe 5th August 5 over 60 bars and flow switches , he is embodiment of weezy Kendrick , Eminem , 2pac Biggie .......
Witt is something else altogether, as in deserves his own category, but LIVINGSTONS VOICE ON THIS. LITERALLY KO'D ME.

Witt hits me right in the heart on sooooo many songs, the pain in his voice is always so transparent and he just exposes his soul for all of us
I loved this album.

Yeah I lost mine to the same thing so this hit me hard. Witt writing and releasing a song about it is some serious strength.
