    I appreciate when Shannon does stuff like this, it’s one of the few UA-cam channels that feels 100% legit. It’s a guy in his room with a white board talking about something he loves (or in this case, a person he loves) and sharing his life story. Thanks for posting!

    Shannon you're a rare genuine person, please never change. Your channel brings such a sense of comfort, Yvonne plays a key role in that as well.

    Even if it isn't the happiest topic, I really enjoy listening to your life stories. and there's always relatable things in them

    i love the honesty that shannon always has in these videos, especially the more personal ones like this. i can relate on the only child front, it's hard to be social and understand how relationships and everything work when you don't have the same tools as everyone else from the start. love you man, keep doing what you do best, creating and being yourself!

    The height thing is ridiculous. I'm 6'2" and I've had two of my four exes point out at some point "are you really 6'2", you seem more like a 6'1"?" I just don't understand it and I feel for guys who are shorter and get judged for it.

    • @youngandfree93
      @youngandfree93 18 годин тому +2

      That is really strange to hear. I am 6'2 but others think I am more 6'3 or 6'4 but it depends on your stature too. Genetics and posture play a role. It is what it is.

      Being tall isn’t always worth it. One of the reasons my ex left me was because “I’m too tall for her”. I’m 6’2 and she was 5’0. It never bothered me. But yeah.

    • @youngandfree93
      @youngandfree93 5 годин тому +1

      @@blackhawks9763 I never even bothered to be in relationships in first place, never was for me. I think it's more of a reflection on society now and how easy it is to meet people and filter out right away. Being with a 5'0 person wouldn't be game over instantly.

    I needed this video. Thank you shannon. I've been really struggling since turning 40 this week, for a lot of the same reasons you described. I often do a lot of what you say when it comes to how I treat women like how I treat the guys. Unfortunately I'm also oblivious, and I know a lot of women expect men to approach first. I hope one day to meet my Yvonne, which would be a woman who is not afraid to admit their feelings to me directly. 😅
    I'm happy for your success! I'm hoping I find my own as well.

    I enjoyed this video. You've always come across as a genuine person but this video made that even more apparent.
    On the pushback from having Yvonne on the videos, some of those people complaining might be going through the same loneliness and felt some envy seeing you with someone.

    I too was the awkward guy who didn't have much luck, Didn't have even a date until 23, but then got between 23-40 5 different girlfriends, 2 Weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 14 years and Married with a 5 year old son and no signs of stopping.

      My wife (Only child) and I (Eldest of 3) moved quite quickly in that she basically moved into my house (My female roommate was her best friend who actually introduced us) shortly after our first date and she basically didn't leave the house haha so much so that her mom (where she lived at home still) told her, If you like this guy so much why not officially move in with him and bring all your stuff there.
      When I met her mom the first time I also met her grandma (who lived with them and was getting care from my wifes mom) and my wife told me I was the first friend Male or Female and for sure the first Boyfriend she'd ever brought home that her grandma actually liked.
      After we married we moved into a new house her mom built with a suite for us in it so that we could help look after grandma and then when grandma passed away we went our seperate way from her mom and both got smaller homes until 2020 when her mom asked if we wanted to go 50/50 on a house again and have her live with us so she could be close to her then 1 year old grandchild. We agreed and now we live in a house where her mom lives in a basement suite and we have the upstairs for us and our son.
      I lucked out when it comes to Mothers-in-law She's always been so amazing to me and amazing as well as a grandma. Our house is also nice in that it has enough space that if family like my brothers or my mom want to come we can accomodate them.

      Haha a Lady hit on me so hard one time, the only time I ever knew for sure someone was hitting on me, was TWO WEEKS AFTER I GOT MARRIED
      I realized she was hitting on me when I flashed her the ring and she changed her attitude.

    It took me a while to be in a serious relationship and similarly, I ignored all of the warning signs with my first girlfriend due to my religious beliefs. Throughout that relationship, I deconstructed from my faith and the perspective of our relationship came into play. The rebound relationship was even worse. But now I’m engaged to someone where it just works. The patience and waiting game is rough and a long road, but it’s worth it when you get there. Thanks for sharing your story!

    This may be one of my favorite videos you’ve posted on either channel! I was glad to hear you get a little more personal and go into everything. You’ve mentioned starting the hockey channel after your divorce, so I knew you had been married before Yvonne, but you never got too into it!

    Only child here. A lot of what you said resonates. I turned my awkwardness into aggression especially after my first long-term relationship ended. Happily married with 2 kids and a cat now and a lot happier once my folks both passed. They were great but whew... they were something else. Thanks for the great vids - they mean a lot.

    As a 6 foot 3 guy I honestly have never felt like the height thing is an advantage. Granted I'm just in my early 20s, but I've never been in any kind of relationship or really had any women into me.
    That being said, I have appreciated watching these life story videos, I've definitely felt some relatabilty to what you've talked about going through in your early years

    I have been hearing those questions since I became old enough to work & pay taxes. 🤣 My answer is usually "I am comfortable to answer these questions. My expectation is that you also answer the questions." She proceeds to walk away. I also heard these questions amongst people who literally met 5 minutes ago at a meetup of mutual friends. It is awkward. Especially when it is someone who just graduated from post-secondary & starting their first job in their field of expertise. I was at a party where a married couple did not know what to talk about with a single person so they asked that single person those questions. It was weird. As it was happening I went to talk to some more sociable & respectable people. In hindsight, I guess I should have interrupted & got that single person out of there.

    Very good video Shannon!
    It’s funny how women judge men on the two things no man can ever change. Size matters apparently.
    But the things men often judge women on, they can have surgeries literally the next day to make themselves look more attractive.
