Today on BRStv, we continue a series that shows you how to properly install, setup and tune the reefing products you are considering or currently using. Our goal is to get beyond the bullet points on the packaging and show you what all this gear, additives and systems are all about!
While we strive to maintain pristine water for our aquariums, one of the main methods to achieve that is by filtering our water before it is used for the tank. RODI units have been proven effective at providing TDS-free water and there is a way to test if you are getting the most filtered water possible for your tank. By using TDS meters with your water filtration RODI unit, you can get a pulse on the effectiveness of your RO membrane as well as make sure that the DI resin stages are still functioning at full capacity!
So follow along as we try to make this reefing hobby a bit more fun and easy for you and your tank!

I see lots of reefers fighting against Dinoflagellates (including myself) and you just can't find a way to fight this problem doing the right thing. I'm on this battle for more than a year and I would be thankful if you guys can make a video teaching people how to treat it on the right way. Thanks in advance. Big fan of your videos :)

Another good video. Question: If you start seeing 1-2ppm on your meter, what is the best way to tell which media is exhausted? I'd rather not replace everything for the sake of it, but I don't want to change the resin only for it to be exhausted because the carbon is no good ect.

Randy, Here's another "How to Topic for you. When making your own T5/LED combo, what the proper spacing between the LED fixtures and a T5 retro kit? The distance between the inside edge of the T5 reflector to the outside edge of the LED fixture?
i ended up adding a 3-way one to my value watersaver+ which already had a 2-way one included. although i kinda wish you guys gave the option for the 3-way one on the value models too. i got 5 now which seems overkill, but now i'm spoiled and i actually want 6. None of this would have started if you just let me buy it with the 3-way one to begin with!!! Haha. Kidding aside, i saw your one video where you showed measuring each of the RO membranes separately on these dual membrane units, and now want one for each RO membrane plus one for both membranes combined. Haha, overkill much? I guess I could just do the math to add the two together, but eh, who needs to do that when you can just have 6 tds meters? water in, post carbon/sediment, post ro each membrane separate plus combined (3 total), post di, 6 in all.

I understand why you might have two TDS meters. One before and after the RO membranes. But where would you install a third sensor and why?
Still waiting on an answer about why I’m not getting water pressure to my gauge after the ASO valve to my RO filter but I do get water out of my RO faucet although not a fast flowing as I’d like it to be. ?
