Saaaaaaaaaame. I started the series with 3U, but when I was playing 4U everything clicked a lot harder and that includes Gore and Shagaru. I loved that staredown in the cutscene when you go to fight Shagaru. He remembers you and he's itching for round 3.

In addition to its attacks and theme song, given how it constantly furls and unfurls it’s wings because of its internal struggle, It’s like living poetry. Albeit sad poetry, but poetry nevertheless.
Magalas have always been the Flagship I have the most nostalgia for besides maybe Lagiacrus, so having this big boy back in action is such a treat. Can't wait to get my ass handed to me from all his new attacks, I remember that big beam from the trailer. Also really glad they kept the track's various sections completely intact besides that new bridge. The new string/percussion flourishes are really nice.
They removed the best part of gore's theme for the arrangement so I'm glad they kept shagaru mostly intact otherwise I would've been incredibly disappointed
I honestly fell right back into the dance I had with from my 4U days, with a few surprises here and there mind you, and it felt great. My hunting buddy, on the other hand, had multiple hunts where Shagaru would womb-combo him to two carts at the very start of the quest, and it was honestly pretty entertaining to watch.

Because the story with Magala was of a rivalry of it and the hunter much like Nergigante in World and Magnamalo in Rise, but Magala had a finishing boss battle with us instead of a bigger other threat.
I remember watching a Gore Magala fight on a let's play. That video being my introduction to the world of Monster Hunter. Ever since getting into the series I wanted to fight him in a new generation. I'm so happy that he kicked my ass.
My experience with this fight having him be my favourite monster. Spoiler alert probably 4U was my first game, and after beating it, Shagaru quickly became my favourite with his build up, fight and theme. So when Gore was announced for Sunbreak I was a 12 year old again! When I eventually got the Shagaru fight I had almost broke my rule of completing every other quest before progressing the story, eventually ai get to him. Quest starts and I meet him, the music starts and instant nostalgia kick in along with the muscle memory of his old move set mixed in with a few attacks. Fight progresses and while fun, was somewhat saddened when he enraged and roared, but didn’t do his star pose. Yeah, you can guess what happened next. My eyes widened in shock as old shaggy did his thing, things kicked up to 11 and he hyper beams my face.
Fighting Risen Shagaru (aka 30 kilotons of tnt with legs) having not fought a shagaru in a long while brought me back to my very first time fighting him in 4U. He wiped the floor with me several times, but it was well worth it in the end.
Can We just quickly appreciate how the little sound in the background that plays every once in a while makes it sound like an ancient terror I love that because it fits the lore of Shagaru so well
Fought him yesterday first time in Sunbreak after many years , it was absolutely epic and pure joy to fight him and this soundtrack , just amazing . Welcome back Shagaru !
Fought Sunbreak Shagaru for the first time a couple hours ago. By god it was fantastic. The game took an already fantastic encounter from 4U and upgraded it into one of my absolute favorite fights in the entire series.
All the while facing my very first Elder Dragon I had ever fought in Monster Hunter period after so long, I kept telling myself one thing and one thing alone. "You're the one to get it done."
I like the detail that you fight it in a section of the citadel map that no other monster uses, almost as if the devs made a little nook in the game specifically for it
It was like hunting it for the first time all over again... and then hunting it to extinction because I needed the mantle. Literally a mirror image of my childhood.
Fist fight he instantly took out two of my lives. With one life left, I held out and beat him, barely surviving some attacks. Memorable gaming moment, one of my favorite monsters in Rise.
i got super excited when i saw the trailer for Gore Magala, and realized my boi Shagaru couldn't be far behind. i looooooved fighting him back on 3DS and his theme was one of my all time favs alongside Brachydios. Glad to hear the remix is just as badass. lol my friends new to the series were absolutely intimidated by both gore and shagaru... it was great lol
after fighting the thing I must say, while I feel they cheated Gore, they most certainly did not cheat Shagaru 10/10 greatest fight all game. I was not ready to see him shoot a frenzy lazer, heck I had to go back to old greatsword tactics of hit and run. This was by far the most fun hunt in the game, with a great theme to boot. edit: I understand now why they did it.. now I just feel the fight was underwhelming.

I felt that it should have had a story beat, so seeing it as a key quest was just kind of lack luster to me. but I'm not really surprised just disappointed, it was still a fun fight just not what I felt it should have been. it felt to easy not going to lie. that's just a personal opinion.
I feel like in Rise, both are just kind of...there. Part of me wishes they held off until the next big console game with a fleshed out World style environment, and do something special with the frenzy virus, have it infect (aka buff) monsters dynamically in the field, give him more turf wars. I always imagined he’d come at the centre of a title update, with his own mini quest line like a lot of Iceborne’s dlc monsters got.
@@Brownieval just having gore in there is fine. it's either this, or gore and shagaru almost never returning or killing the pace of the story every time because they need to be a story beat in every game. I don't want them to hold gore and shagaru hostage like lagiacrus until they decide to bring back frenzy. sunbreak brought them in the most ideal way possible, because this way, they can actually return in the future without any issues. as for the fight, might just be because you've fought gore before, and they only made a couple changes. I had a pretty easy time too with insect glaive, which is what I've always fought him with. but strangely, as soon as I switched to longsword, I started struggling with gore like it's my first time fighting him. I guess I only ever learned how to fight him with the glaive.
People really complaining about spoilers when Capcom already spoiled this monster for everyone. If you're really that worried about spoilers, then tune out Monster Hunter UA-cam because it's not the UA-camr's jobs to keep their shit spoiler-free for your sake.

Honestly I can hear where vocals would be added, and while it would be a nice touch, this is great too. It did feel a tiny bit overkill to have vocals throughout Rise and not just save it for Magnamalo, Jang, Bagelguy and the Serpents for those mons and then for the Rampage themes because of the lore for those vocals, but yeah
Actually, as a new gamer to MH, I don’t understand why Shagaru’s theme is so.., “heroic”? It’s a legitimately terrifying creature if it were to exist in real life. How would this be heroic?
Shagaru has something of a story in the game they first appeared in, while I won’t spoil much, it’s essentially the equivalent of having a “rival” that you periodically face, with Shagaru being said rival in their absolute apex, which is also the last time you fight them in the story. Shagaru is by all means a “final boss”, so his theme song reflects that in a sense. Or… that’s atleast how I interpret it.

Shagaru was the first true villain in the MH series, so the theme fits that feeling of "final battle", but it has a little more to it. Shagaru Magala is the adult form of Gore Magala, so the idea of something so beautiful and a symbol of Light being born from a Dark creature like Gore Magala really deserves to stand out even in its theme.
Shagaru genuinely used to be my least favorite of all the elder dragons. It's fight just felt so unfair and looked so dull that i would get upset if my equipment needed parts from it. So when rise announced gores return i was not thrilled in the slightest. Now that we're at the end of sunbreaks life i can say with absolute certainty that THIS version of shagaru easily made me change my mind
Now that the skeletal structure of the magalas is in the new engine, who’s to say we won’t see some faces from the past like from explore, or even more from frontier?
I already liked gore and shagaru I had played 4u and have memories of these 2 When I went to fight gore in sunbreak I was so happy He was so good Looked amazing and fun to fight But shagaru Fucking shagaru He was fucking perfect The fight is so much fun Seeing he was an urgent made me happy He feels powerful as all hell which makes me feel like he is an elder and not just “gore but always powered up” He was the first monster me and my friends actually failed because of a non bullshit way in sunbreak And his theme… His perfect theme… With everything else I was fucking crying They did them so fucking well and with the rest of the game sunbreak is just my favorite mh now
Everything you said perfectly sums up my experience with Shagaru in Sunbreak. One of the few quest my team and I failed, but we were glad to lose against him. Also I will agree by saying that I also did cry internally due to how amazing it was to see his return. Still praying for lagiacrus tho..
I absolutely love this new rendition but the part at 1:05 was completely unnecessary and kinda ruined the flow for me, Maybe it would do better at the end of the song? there was a big build up in the original that kinda gets numbed down in this version because of that part but other than that it’s great!
@@Lady_Moonsong personally I don't think that Sunbreak does it well. They lose the intensity of the part that would normally be there for a less unique and muddy sequence. It's strange, because aside from the weird parts, Sunbreak has had the strongest remakes of old themes so far, including many of the ones in World:IB. In my opinion, obviously
They added a bit of marching tempo into it making it feels like he even is the GOD of Citadel. This song still filled if not more of a sense of subjugation.
This monster will always be a hit, it seems! Not so fond of Gore, but I can't help but enjoy Shagaru's presence! It seems they made its theme clearer, right? It's no longer something like a final boss; you can also hear... Cathar's theme? Maybe that's just 4U's song. Listening to it right now, I felt something was missing: the buildup doesn't lead to Shagaru's Final Boss leitmotiv. You can hear a bit of Alatreon theme around 2:56, right? I wonder why they decided to fit it there!

What shocks me is that I can hear a bit of Alatreon's theme instead of what usually explodes at the end of the buildup! I think I've noticed, it's around 3:00, but I wanted to put the buildup in it so someone who knows more about music than I do can focus on these notes your hear before that loud thing I associate with Alatreon. I swear I've heard these notes before. With an username like yours, I can definitely trust your thoughts. :) There is also something I feel when watching Sunbreak's Shagaru; the monster has absorbed everything Monster Hunter Stories 2's final boss was. I can't remember its theme though, so I can't say if its also something I hear in this theme.

You can also see how much Shagaru, Xeno'Jiiva and Stories 2's final boss look alike. Now with Alatreon, it does stand out, but it somehow keep its star-shaped wings. That's so exciting! I can't help but looking for more and more clues! But I couldn't really play MH since Gen, so I only try to check if people can confirm what I'm hearing is true. To think it started with me associating Shagaru's original theme with Pokémon tracks. x'D

i did use citra to play 4u on pc i got to fight gore magala but never shagaru sense i got´a new pc and have to do it all again but now with sunbreak second time in the expansion i farmed all gear and the CB i love it just so cool fighting him for the first time. i did the first quest and solo to first try took me around 40 mega potion and all the max potions i had he hit so hard.
Honestly why wouldn’t he be? It’d be kinda weird to have Gore and not Shagaru. Tbh tho I kinda wished they would have kept him out and released him later in an update so he can take the stage and also lead to the introduction of frenzy monsters in Sunbreak.

Fun fact - when fighting Risen Shagaru Magala at the Forlorn Arena or Infernal Springs, his theme will take priority and will play instead!
Its pretty terrifying when you are doing an anomaly investigation in those maps and suddenly his theme plays.
Lore-wise, risen shagaru is probably the most dangerous monster just because of the two plagues he can control

Shagaru is technically a Capstone.
They changed up his moveset just subtly enough that I get caught by some of his attacks because I think I know what to do. loved hearing this in game.

It is, once Shaggy goes below half health, it enter’s phase 2 in which it uses new attacks and standard attacks have cause lines of explosions.

They are really high quality and I appreciate the effort and time it took to put these up instead of more traditional content I've expected from this channel. Honestly I can hear where vocals would be added, and while it would be a nice touch, this is great too. It did feel a tiny bit overkill to have vocals throughout Rise and not just save it for Magnamalo, Jang, Bagelguy and the Serpents for those mons and then for the Rampage themes because of the lore for those vocals, but yeah
I used to love the og theme but this ? THEY MADE IT EVEN MORE GLORIOUS, I fucking love the details they added in this version

Actually, as a new gamer to MH, I don’t understand why Shagaru’s theme is so.., “heroic”?
It’s a legitimately terrifying creature if it were to exist in real life. How would this be heroic?
Shagaru has something of a story in the game they first appeared in, while I won’t spoil much, it’s essentially the equivalent of having a “rival” that you periodically face, with Shagaru being said rival in their absolute apex, which is also the last time you fight them in the story. Shagaru is by all means a “final boss”, so his theme song reflects that in a sense.
Or… that’s atleast how I interpret it.
Shagaru Magala was the village story final boss of 4 Ultimate
gore magala is symbols dark but it becomes light(shagaru) so they make oppositely gore's theme
@@kyledilbert6424 plus both sides know its a fight to the death, a clash of equals that grew though out the story of the game to a point it comes to u and him, both knowing only one will walk out alive then he shows off his final form then the moment he dive bombs u the battle begins
Shagaru was the first true villain in the MH series, so the theme fits that feeling of "final battle", but it has a little more to it.
Shagaru Magala is the adult form of Gore Magala, so the idea of something so beautiful and a symbol of Light being born from a Dark creature like Gore Magala really deserves to stand out even in its theme.

Shagaru genuinely used to be my least favorite of all the elder dragons. It's fight just felt so unfair and looked so dull that i would get upset if my equipment needed parts from it. So when rise announced gores return i was not thrilled in the slightest. Now that we're at the end of sunbreaks life i can say with absolute certainty that THIS version of shagaru easily made me change my mind

I fought Shagaru solo first time in GU and Sunbreak. It’s the only way to truly experience him imo.
What about Solo Iceborne Fatalis without using Fatalis Weapons or Armor?

After fighting him 5 times, i learnt that I can double parry his "fireball"

I had played 4u and have memories of these 2
When I went to fight gore in sunbreak I was so happy
He was so good
Looked amazing and fun to fight
But shagaru

He was fucking perfect
The fight is so much fun
Seeing he was an urgent made me happy
He feels powerful as all hell which makes me feel like he is an elder and not just “gore but always powered up”
He was the first monster me and my friends actually failed because of a non bullshit way in sunbreak

Everything you said perfectly sums up my experience with Shagaru in Sunbreak. One of the few quest my team and I failed, but we were glad to lose against him. Also I will agree by saying that I also did cry internally due to how amazing it was to see his return. Still praying for lagiacrus tho..

I absolutely love this new rendition but the part at 1:05 was completely unnecessary and kinda ruined the flow for me, Maybe it would do better at the end of the song? there was a big build up in the original that kinda gets numbed down in this version because of that part but other than that it’s great!
Yeah this new version is really good but at 1:05 it should be directly connect the part in 1:20 like the original one as I remember
Seems to be a trend in Sunbreak themes to randomly break the flow of the track instead of letting the intensity of the normal bridge happen
I personally don't mind it but I can see the complaint. That break is a little off, but the change at 1:34 is just beautiful. A great change imo
ITT: people who don't understand musical composition. The added part is quite great. Subversion of expectation is wonderful when done right
@@Lady_Moonsong personally I don't think that Sunbreak does it well. They lose the intensity of the part that would normally be there for a less unique and muddy sequence. It's strange, because aside from the weird parts, Sunbreak has had the strongest remakes of old themes so far, including many of the ones in World:IB. In my opinion, obviously

They added a bit of marching tempo into it making it feels like he even is the GOD of Citadel. This song still filled if not more of a sense of subjugation.

This monster will always be a hit, it seems! Not so fond of Gore, but I can't help but enjoy Shagaru's presence! It seems they made its theme clearer, right? It's no longer something like a final boss; you can also hear... Cathar's theme? Maybe that's just 4U's song. Listening to it right now, I felt something was missing: the buildup doesn't lead to Shagaru's Final Boss leitmotiv. You can hear a bit of Alatreon theme around 2:56, right? I wonder why they decided to fit it there!

@@oeeo6thealatreon118 @Oeeo6 The Alatreon I feel the same for the removal of that Final Boss feeling! What shocks me is that I can hear a bit of Alatreon's theme instead of what usually explodes at the end of the buildup!
I think I've noticed, it's around 3:00, but I wanted to put the buildup in it so someone who knows more about music than I do can focus on these notes your hear before that loud thing I associate with Alatreon. I swear I've heard these notes before. With an username like yours, I can definitely trust your thoughts. :)
There is also something I feel when watching Sunbreak's Shagaru; the monster has absorbed everything Monster Hunter Stories 2's final boss was. I can't remember its theme though, so I can't say if its also something I hear in this theme.

@@oeeo6thealatreon118 Shagaru Magala is a gold mine in monster design. No wonder why they rewrote 4U's gimmick thrice with Rise. You can also see how much Shagaru, Xeno'Jiiva and Stories 2's final boss look alike. Now with Alatreon, it does stand out, but it somehow keep its star-shaped wings. That's so exciting! I can't help but looking for more and more clues! But I couldn't really play MH since Gen, so I only try to check if people can confirm what I'm hearing is true.
To think it started with me associating Shagaru's original theme with Pokémon tracks. x'D

Final battle against COVID-19
i did use citra to play 4u on pc i got to fight gore magala but never shagaru sense i got´a new pc and have to do it all again but now with sunbreak second time in the expansion i farmed all gear and the CB i love it just so cool fighting him for the first time. i did the first quest and solo to first try took me around 40 mega potion and all the max potions i had he hit so hard.

Honestly why wouldn’t he be? It’d be kinda weird to have Gore and not Shagaru. Tbh tho I kinda wished they would have kept him out and released him later in an update so he can take the stage and also lead to the introduction of frenzy monsters in Sunbreak.
