Thanks for the honest review guys!
Just in regards to the bungee cord we don’t use on the Mulgo. We actually used to have it in the first few years.
However, about 5 years ago decided to redesign the canvas to incorporate the same effect the bungee cord has.
The bungee cord only helps in the beginning, as soon as you start pulling the roof down, the bungee cord becomes loose and no longer keeps in the canvas.
So even without the bungee our tent naturally falls inwards.
Now when closing the roof, the air needs to go somewhere and it is then when the canvas gets pushed out again.
The slower you close it the roof, the less tucking in you have to do.

I'm a month out from my Mulgo install. Thanks for re-confirming my feelings regarding the product. I know some people knock it but I agree with your points. It's Aussie made and engineered in Australia. For a big ticket item that modifies the structure of the vehicle you can't go wrong. I think Daniel @ Expedition Centre has done a great job and I look forward to installing it, with the many adventures to come as you guys have. Safe travels :)

If someone wants to steal things from your car they just smash a window. The roof is not the only way in unfortunately

Very true. However smashing a window is more effort and brings more attention than simply climbing into a roof that to anyone else around may look as though it is their car.
