Sunset and Star Trails over London, Ontario, Canada on Valentine's Day, 2024

Time lapse video of the setting sun and star trails on Valentines Day.

Not asking anyone to watch the whole video, but two neat things, astronomically speaking you can just jump to and watch.
Around the 1:16 minute, the setting sun crosses between the two apartment buildings directly in the middle of the frame. This happens twice a year for me, in February and March, but just for a few days. Exactly why I setup the camera where and when I did. 🙂
Secondly, if you fast forward to almost the end of the video, and then pause it, you will see the apparent path of the moon and Jupiter in the night sky.
Now this video was only two hours real time, but even then, in that short period, you can see a wee, small divergence in the apparent path of the moon and Jupiter growing apart form each other against the night sky. If I known I would of captured that, I might of let the camera go another hour, or until the battery ran out.
GoPro 10 for the daytime time lapse, GoPro 11 for the star trails, as it has that function built right into it. Mounted side by side on a twin mount. I setup early in the day, and set the timer for auto start.
On daytime time lapse, you get just over two hours on a fresh battery, so I set the sunset for starting one hour before local sunset, and I set the star trail to start one hour after local sunset.
