  • Phoenix Suns star guard Bradley Beal meets with the media at Suns media day ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Beal, 31, is entering his 13th NBA season and second with the Suns after Phoenix was swept in the first round of the 2024 playoffs by the Minnesosta Timberwolves last season following a 49-33 record.
After being acquired from the Washington Wizards in June last year, Beal finished his first year in Phoenix averaging his lowest point total since his 2015-16 season at 18.2 points per game on 51/43/81 shooting splits, 5.0 assists and 4.4 rebounds across 53 games, as he was plagued by various injuries early in the season. The team's Big 3 of Beal, Booker and Durant went 26-15 across 41 regular-season games played together.
In the offseason, a lot of Suns fans were stuck on Beal's Game 4 performance against Minnesota, when he finished with nine points on 4-of-13 shooting (1-of-5 from 3), two assists and six turnovers (five in the fourth quarter), fouling out after playing 31 minutes. Beal called this performance a "s----- feeling" in his exit interview in April.
Beal, a three-time All-Star, will look to prove to everybody why he is still one of the best offensive players in the league this season, as the Suns got a new starting point guard in Tyus Jones and a new, respected coach in Mike Budenholzer.
Beal has three years and over $161 million left on his contract, as he, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker are all among the top-10 highest-paid players in the NBA. The Suns will have the first payroll in NBA history to exceed $400 million after luxury tax penalties.
Beal discusses his role with a new point guard in Tyus Jones, the team's three-guard lineup with Jones, his mindset after last season, why his man focus this season is to have fun, doing whatever it takes to win, what he means by having fun, Bol Bol coming back and Grayson Allen moving to second unit, taking more 3s as a team and what it will be like playing next to Jones.
