I mean.. MJ was an amazing artist, but he wasn’t the best singer. If he was Celine Dion‘s vocal coach or Whitney Houston‘s. .. that would be another story
Yes he talks a lot. But I got a lot out of the vocalizing he demonstrated with her. It takes a long time to understand this method. I’ve been using it for years and it is starting to sink in.
It’s style if you can do it both ways which I’m sure Christina probably can...it provides interest, emotion, color and texture and gives dimension...Sarah Mclachlan does it and I consider her one of the best singers in the world.
Joe Paul I comment in the positive in an equal amount on vocal videos too. I have students who are former students of Riggs and ALL told me the same thing - he talks and talks and talks. When I comment, I tell the truth and the truth cannot be "hate". You may not like it, but you can't say I'm lying. Vocal education IS my life and I have a problem with ANY coach who doesn't give a student a value for their hard earned money. Is Riggs a bad coach? Nope. But for $500 an hour, I don't want to hear a vocal coach talk through most of it. Would you if it was your money?
Eric Rice It must be hard walking around so ignorant about things huh? 1. Do you know me? Do you know what success I have had or not have? No to both questions. Riggs has been teaching for 40 years, I would hope he's successful by now. 2. I was NEVER a hair metal singer. Never had a hair metal band. I was too young for that period of music. 3. Strange how my being a "quack" hasn't kept some of the biggest names in SLS voice teaching like John Henny, Dave Stroud and Brett Manning from being my friends and saying what a wonderful, intelligent teacher I am - even though I don't teach SLS techniques. Weird huh? 4. Your use of the phrase "greatest singing technique in the world" shows just how ignorant and uneducated you are about voice pedagogy. No single technique is "the greatest" - even Riggs wouldn't say that. 5. I have students who used to study under Riggs, Manning and Stroud. Why do think that is? Hmm... 6. If you think my singing is strained and with a high larynx - you need to educate yourself on Rock technique, get a new set of ears or get your head out of your ass. Pick one.
You do have a point though... I came here for some pointers to include in my practice and found myself skipping through a lot. What he teaches is good, but I would be gutted to listen to that much talking, especially as it's to other people in the room (poor girl's body language - sticking her head forward, like hey, talk to me!). That time is precious and you need the focus on you - more specifically, your voice!
Clea Llewellyn Correct. I have had several Riggs students come to me for help and they ALL complained about this very thing - talks and talks and talks.
Did I understand correctly? He called beautiful Christina Aguilera's style "bad singing"? If I did, I wish I could sing as bad as her!!! That is when it becomes confusing for us students. Renee Grant Williams tells Christina to "love her imperfections" in singing and voila! A beautiful and unique singing style is born, and later, after a style of singing (e.g. speech-level singing) becomes well know, everyone sounds generic.
It’s technique. Her notes are gorgeous but some are incorrect. It’s best to not promote improper singing regardless of how well you think someone performs. This technique dates back. It’s not new. He was MJs coach for a reason.
He’s one of the best for a reason, after all he was Michael Jackson voice coach
En Christian Castro and more

SETH is WONDERFULLLLLLLLL!!!

Amazing!! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Teresa, do you still sing?
Elizabeth does!

7:22 can be upper by vocal position.
Fue maestro del gran Bad bunny

He talks too fast for me to follow.
and so now everyone can see and understand what you pay Riggs $500 an hour for - to hear him talk and talk and talk.
you're always hating on vocal videos! Dude get a life! You don't see the other vocal coaches doing that!

AnaMaria Orozco
Xtina style of singing isn't a problem
But her high note belt is really bloody hellacious terrible
No she's bad, don't begin to put her on a pedestal. She's definitely one of the most generic singers of the modern era.

She (Christina) makes too wide sound... And because of it she loose high vocal position...
Thank you for explaining why Adele is crap.
That was a wonderful vocal training..I found that Panlarko Sing Fast Planner also helps for vocal training pl google it
Good good
Accept Adel has a once in a lifetime.sound no matter what you may think.
@@stebolian if you think that adele is a once in a lifetime sound you really need to get out from under your rock.
