Ostreikovskaya is also a lovely Clemence! She is very strong in adagio work, but you forget about her strength because she has such a soft, gentle style. :-)

agree! adgio word requires lot of strength especially when ballerina strikes some non-chalant lovely poses in the midst of tough balances, it's quite a hard work.

I love her costume. I am pea green with envy. The one I wore when I was an understudy and the girl playing Florine broke her ankle was the most boring and disney princess like mess of tulle and organza.

Really don't like this version of the choreography, and the slower tempo in the adage just sounds slow (like it looks like they're struggling to fill the time) as opposed to, say, an achingly slow White Swan pdd where the tempo is clearly a good artistic and dramatic choice. And he starts to molt during the coda. Still, thanks much. Exciting to see a bastion of Russian show-stoppers trying something a little new and different.
Your comment about the molting had me laughing! And I totally agree about the tempo. I prefer a slowed down White Swan pas but for bluebird it's just plain weird. Between the dancers trying to fill the music and the flying feathers this became a bit of a comical mess. Even still, I really enjoyed watching these two beautiful dancers move.
