    US visa processing is long because when you come in as a nurse, you are considered a permanent resident from day 1 and not on a work visa like in the UK. That's why they use lawyers. Also, it's a long journey but I believe your husband will match into a US residency with UK work experience. It will be worth it in the long run, but I'd highly recommend becoming a U.K citizen first.

    You are so correct, some of us just want to be happy and be comfortable, that is how I want to live my life too, have been a nurse in Nigeria for 14 years but nothing to show for it, no career progress and am not even earning upto 150k, am glad you left Nigeria when you did, have been watching your videos for a very long time and I must say you really inspired me and I love your contentment with life. Indefinite leave to remain is not the same as British citizenship, it’s just as a permanent resident in the USA u will still have to apply for citizenship in some years to come, no bad energy though, just to clarify 🙏🏽

      UK has opportunities. I did my degree part time in the evenings at East London university. Before that in the mid 90s and early 2000, I used to do courses at community adult education, cake decoration, flower arranging and balloon decor. I use them now that I'm retired. I made friends along the way. Moreso I'm a BAC and got involved in church activities which I enjoy up to now. Every year I go to different exhibitions throughout UK and meet people of the same mind. So I don't understand when someone says there's boredom in the UK. Stay blessed.

    Yea
    The silliest thing about some agencies , mine in particular, is how they tell you not to change your role, position, work place or country without their permission , until you move to the US, what better describes modern day slavery ?
    It’s so against the essence of moving to a developed country for career growth and academic advancement in the first place.
    Passed the NCLEX RN since a year ago and still stuck in Nigeria awaiting visa interview date .

    • @NurseMJTV
      @NurseMJTV  5 місяців тому

      Ikr! Cos why will you ask me not to change employer 😂… I’m sorry… that can’t work especially with the lengthy process! The wait can be so frustrating! I had many friends/ colleagues who had to come to UK first and moved from UK after just few months 🇬🇧

    Hie Nurse MJ. Im retired in UK from being a nurse, midwife and Health Visitor with a Psychology degree from East London University. I applied for a visa to go on holiday to America. Applied in May to visit USA on holuday and got a response in November for an interview. After paying my money. I decided to abandon visiting America cos November was winter. Who wants to go on holiday in winter for crying out loud? I'm retired and lost interest in visiting America. I've visited several countries in Europe including the cleanest country Croatia, in my books. I love UK. Stay blessed.

    People need to understand at the moment there is no movement. There is a massive retrogression happening in America and that’s why at the international nurses cannot migrate to the USA. Many people don’t understand the complexity of USA application process. Then they start the application process and realize that they have to wait years. At the minute on the uscis website they looking at 2022 application if you applying outside the country. So it’s a long process and if there is a change then good but one should just continue living.

    If yes, the it looks like retrogression is the main problem then.
    Because if not for retrogression, you’d probably be on your way and all the other reasons won’t hold.
    If you’ve not started an EB3 process, then all the other reasons hold valid.
