Connection with Nissa? Yes. In love however? No. It seems like Chandra and Nissa to me are more of bffs, and the thought of their friendship being test is only natural. Though Chandra did run out embarrassed, I feel sympathetic towards her. It's not easy telling a person whom you have been through hell with, that your needing their help for the first time. Chandra is more like she's trying to get closure and she doesn't know how to ask for help when she needs it. So once again, not love, but there is a connection. Of friendship anyway.
I think Nissandra are really cute about their feelings. Chandra going full social anxiety about it and Nissa feeling responsible of Chandra response, really cute. :)

chandra sounds eager yet hesitant to ask nisa for that power surge she got from zendikar. kinda makes me think of the chandra ablaze too wondering what if she does get stronger from nisa and what's gonna happen with her having that power.
while Lili is chandra's buddy right now it will be Nissa she inevitably stands with as the two are yin and yang. perfect opposites that when working together make the perfect storm.

I am concerned for the people of Ravnica if these to get to the heights of passion. All the need is for a bunch of trees to spring up when Nissa gets off and then to have them burst into flames when Chandra get off. It will take then weeks to get the inferno under control.

They obviously have come to care for each other and have become friends. The communication troubles the start. Nissa will teach Chandra to think more coherently and manage her temper while Chandra will teach Nissa to think more with her gut.

If I were Wizards, I would have them win on Kaladesh making it three victories in a row and then, just as they're getting confident, they go to Amonkhet and meet Nicol Bolas who kills one of them (I don't know who, but I've ruled out Poster Boy and Lilianna). This tactic has more than one advantage. First, it gives the Gatewatch a loss in more ways the one. After defeating the Eldrazi, they're looking like they could take on even the Phyrexians single handedly and, as players, we know Wizards doesn't like anything to be too strong. The Gatewatch need to lose at some point to show they can be beaten. Second, is another way to look at loss. By having one of them die, the emotional connection between them can be explored to greater effect. I would take out Lilianna as the one to die for this reason since, so far, she's too new and it doesn't seem like the rest trust her entirely, but something could happen that changes this. Finally, it sets up a MUCH NEEDED recurring villain for a team that doesn't really have one yet. It would need to be a planeswalker since it has to be someone on their level that can meet them on whatever plane they're on. Who better than the grandfather of dark schemes... Nicol Bolas.
Sole Servitor Yes certainly. I would find it satisfying if they closed up Chandra's character in Aetherevolt and Nicol Bolas kIlls her in Amonkhet. The problem with this would be getting another iconic red planeswalker other than Sarkhan who isn't the most friendly ATM. My second guess could be Gideon given he isn't vital to the storyline and doesn't have conflicts of his own. Also, we have other popular white walkers such as Ajani, whom I miss :(
I wanted to say Gideon too, but I think they might save him for when they deal with Heliod to save Elspeth (possibly led to by Ajani who is on Kaladesh). That led me to Chandra or Nissa... and the closeness they've written about between them in this story and others solidifies that guess. i feel like Chandra is going to start the aether revolt and the gatewatch will have to stop her thats why the new planeswalker deck that replaced the duel decks has Chandra fighting Nissa and most likely one of the gatewatch members has to die possibly at Tezzeret,s hand hence the gatewatch searching for Nicole Bolis just a thought

Now WOTC is releasing 2 set block, I feel the lore is lacking. It now must become a sitcom and 30 mins later its resolved...remember khans? 1st khans (like tasiger) then, time shift, then dragons(sidisi etc)? It was epic, more room for more story, including the twists and turns. I loved Seibens mirroden block lore. It was epic!! Karn builds mirroden...oops spilt the oil, Memnarch, then new phyrexia!! wow sooo cool now we get Avacyn is crazy tadah...Emerakul..*Sigh* 3 sets develop a better story. Seiben what do you think?
the idea of same sex relationships in magic doesn't bother me. however, I am concerned that it may lead into interspecies relations. the kor, elves and the like wouldn't be too much of an issue but I would be a little turned off by loxodons and leonins in romantic relationships with human like races. it is a bit interesting that this could be a direction that wizards could take with its characters. i am curious how other people would feel about a relationship between say kiora and ajani.

Personally, I wouldn't really enjoy a Chandra-Nissa romance. It doesn't seem to fit Chandra's *burn everything to the ground literal torch of defiance* character; moreover, with her character already developed, a relationship, even one with Nissa, I would feel to be tacked-on and in complete contrast to the "power of the individual" ideal that Chandra and red mana itself stand for. If a relationship with Chandra and Nissa as a couple could greatly benefit the plot and add to the story in a positive way, I see no problem. But having Chandra in a lesbian relationship for its own sake is nothing more than fan service and a capitulation towards the ideals of far-left SJWs.
It's a touch of realism. No one is one dimensional. We are seeing a lot more of Chandra's emotions in this set. Also, don't forget that red is the color of emotion, NOT specifically of anger and rage. Her having feelings for someone is entirely within her character concept, which is essentially the planeswalker symbolic of red mana. If she falls for someone, it's going to be hard. As for "power to the individual", that's actually more of a black thing than a red thing. The red equivalent is *freedom,* which is obviously similar but entails doing what you want and following where your emotions guide you with little to no restraint. To bring it back to earth, the most individualistic societies in our world are also ones that value love. And to bring it back to the multiverse, love with no boundaries (read: gay love) is, symbolically, about as unrestrained a form of love that you can get in media these days before it starts being looked down upon. Also, I think people should stop letting their resentment towards groups they dislike get in the way of their ability to enjoy something. No, someone wanting to put a gay relationship in a story is not "forced" any more than someone wanting to put a reference to bullying into the story is "forced". People have things they value, things they find important and want to see play out in a story, or even just a backstory. Homosexual liberation is a very important concept to a lot of people these days, and they want to see it. There's nothing wrong with that, and nothing "forced" about it, unless you think there's some sort of focus group at WotC full of suits going "Yes, our demographic is obviously SJWs, Jamison, tell those nerds at Magic to put a gay couple into the next set. That will make us all sort of money!" Let people write what they want to write. Unless you have something against gay relationships (which I suspect you don't, but I may be wrong) it doesn't make much sense to complain about it. That's not to say there isn't a reason for you to be mad - if you have a problem with "SJWs" and this makes you suspect that it's there because there are some on the MTG Lore team, then it makes sense that you would have some feelings about it. But it's important to recognize the difference between it making sense for emotions to be present and those emotions themselves making sense. I suspect this may be a moment where you just have to suck it up and say "Fuck it, I don't like those kind of people but that's not a good reason to shit on the story, those are just my personal values."

Chandra desires the calm and clarity that she had obtained for a few brief moments when tapped into the power of Zendikar. I have nothing against Chandra and Nissa having at it, I just wonder how it could benefit the plot. No doubt its inclusion would add to the depth of the world, I freaking love world building, I would actually like them to explore this plot line somewhat. I wonder if Chandra, in her newfound quest for answers, power, and clarity, brings her to dangerous new places, which could be most thrilling. The whole romance does seem promising, very promising, I'm just a bit worried WoTC may be a bit *in your face* to the readers about it. Since posting that comment, I've refreshed my knowledge on both of their personalities, and I believe any romance between the two could prove for some conflict, both inside and outside the Gatewatch as a whole. I see your side of the argument, and a romance between NIssa and Chandra, if implemented correctly, could work wonders for the story.
