I think the big three (Savor, Venture, VX) will stay on MC/Visa. But even if they move them, hopefully C1 would continue their practice of grandfathering in cards to stay in networks for people who already have the cards.
Yes C1 is getting the discover card. And they are getting the discover network. Woudnt it make sense they leave Visa. Leave visa Infinite. And C1 can keep all the swipe fees for themselves . Given a choice will C1 take the extra billions in swipe fees or stay with visa. And if they do use the discover payment network they are buying what will your international acceptance be? Something to talk about in 2028.
C1 is not stupid, they will not sever millions of revenue to force everyone to use Discover. The likely reason they even bought Discover, is to strangle hold the entry level credit consumers. Would be interesting to see if the Savor card moves over and if it does, it could make international travel interesting as 1/2 of the duo could be unusable in the situation for international travel
I think the big three (Savor, Venture, VX) will stay on MC/Visa. But even if they move them, hopefully C1 would continue their practice of grandfathering in cards to stay in networks for people who already have the cards.
I dont see that move. Maybe the quicksilvers will move!
@ quicksilver discover makes way more sense
@@johnny_ma the VX is def NOT going on discover network.
Not until I see any concrete fact or documents showing C1 is moving everything to Discover will I believe it.
yeah - i think there are some questions there.
Im still on the fense about this card.
Oh man. That's tough to understand. But I guess If I wanted to focus on one or two ecosystems I could understand.
Get it. Pays for itself
@evanperry44 How can I best utilize it if I use all my spend to try to get Hyatt points through chase?
@ if the only thing you use is Hyatt points then maybe this card isn’t for you
I have a 796 credit score. No new cards in last 12 months and I have been trying to get the Venture X for a year now and I still can’t get it. No clue why…. I can get a card anywhere else but not this card. I’m close to saying screw Cap 1….
they can be frustrating. Im curious how many times you've applied?
@ I tried for it on their Pre approval site one time every month. It will approve me for the crap venture that gets 1.25 points. But not the regular venture or Venture X. I have the Savor one and I may just cancel it if I don’t get the Venture X soon. I’m giving it till May then I’m done and moving on.
Are you sure you are doing the pre approval tool for the actual Venture x? It has its own pre approval tool separate from the rest
@@georgeloveless4848 ah, so you’ve never even applied ?
@ just the pre approval form. Not risking a tri merge if pre approval won’t approve me. lol
Capital One doesn't want my business, so I'm just not interested. Their approval process is quite stupid really
@@pippers8349 I can understand the frustration
I think the Cap One Venture is better.
@@Nanoparticle7 hmmm. That’s interesting
@ I have P pass already and the flying credit you are just paying yourself back, it made no sense for me. I took the incentive points and now I only use the Venture for my catch all at x2 points.
@ you’re right that you’re just paying yourself back but with the venture card you aren’t even doing that. I don’t think I would hold the venture card.
@ I’m sorry I beg to differ, without the p pass what more do you have? Please don’t say the flying credit because it’s your money anyway.

I will never be a capital one customer ✌️. Thanks nice video like always.
I agree, JP!

The travel portal was a nightmare for me. When most of the value is tied to that, it will be a downgrade for me.
I'm going to say something with all respect. If you cant use that travel portal once a year. Then i would stick with straight cash back.
DIsagree. I travelled abroad a ;pt and I put the card to good use. portal is great.
@@tral403Hrytw everyone has different experiences. But I do think that portal has Plenty of uses
This is my third year having the card. I used the travel portal twice this year. I paid using the credit upfront, and both times, I got charged again at the hotel. Called Capital One Travel FOUR times and had email correspondence with one of the hotels to get it resolved. They gave me a credit to use in the portal, but only with a two month window. Seriously, screw this credit.
@ I found the travel portal very good, only one time i had a problem with booking in Asia. No problems in Europe. Found good deals too.
the cards are great. the service is not. i have many cap 1 cards including vx and savor. ,most of spend still goes to amex and chase.
@@The_Turd_Ferguson I don’t disagree. I just never have to call them for anything. So I never really get let down by their service. It I have received a lot, and I mean a LOT of positive reviews of CS with Cap1 lately
You are supposed to compare and contrast like for like. For example, C1VX and C1 Savor vs CSR, CFF, CFU, CIBC vs AMEX Plat, Gold, Green, Blue. Chase has the advantage for flight insurance, flight delays, flight cancellations, flight changes. Chase is best for avoiding travel portal to redeem annual $300 travel stipend on liberal definition of travel. C1VX is very limited to flight, hotel, and rental car within C1 travel portal. When travel goes sideways Chase is the better setup. However, I agree that if a beginner wants only one credit card instead of duo, trifecta, quadfecta then C1VX is easy.
@@MichaelCMeyer I’m big on direct comparisons because cards are great and comparing two would take me an hour.
C1 will be moving all cards to the Discover network in Q2 of this year. This pretty much kills the card for me. I used the VX as the only card I would use during international travels, as well as Costco purchases. Yeah, they’ll have better customer service, but now the international acceptance shot down.
Unless you have concrete facts or written documents outlining this change, it's just conjecture.
@@soapa4279 Also, even if what he’s saying is true (& I don’t believe either the Savor, VX, or Venture will be moved to the Discover network. Maybe the QS, Platinum & V1, & I definitely think their debit cards), C1 has always grandfathered cards into the networks you got them in even after a change, so there’s no reason to think a VX to Discover network change would affect current card members.
@ I would not bet on the VX being a discover card. How is discover goin to offer rental insurance and all those visa Infinite perks
@@LukesPointsandMiles
I agree in part. Discover-C1 could match those perks after the merger, but there's little reason to force the VX onto the discover network, due to the Costco issue. Cardholders would start using it less, not more, with such a change.
Such a great card! I tried getting the card twice and no luck. Great card, I might try a 3rd time😂 Great information mi hermano!🫵
