    So as a broker, you'd contact the shipping lines or the container owners to do intermodal and drayage.

    • @Freight360
      @Freight360  2 роки тому +1

      You can, but shipping lines are very large companies with long sales cycles. I’d start with Freight Forwarders.

    To find drayage customers are you guys contacting companies that import from overseas? Walmart, etc. Or the shipping companies themselves? Maersk, etc. Customs agents? Curious how to tap into this niche. Who's paying the bills for that shipment? I'd imagine cross docking / storage services would be a good business around the ports.

    What tools do you use for rates of intermodal shipments? Also how do we get started?

    • @Freight360
      @Freight360  2 роки тому +1

      We suggest contacting the carriers in the market you'll be working in, and ask for their tariff rates. Do this with a handful of carriers to determine the market. A rate won't do you much good without a carrier willing and able to move it for you.

      @@Freight360 no, how to bill a rail yard for an export.

    • @Freight360
      @Freight360  2 роки тому +1

      @@sahirahross8290 you wouldn’t be sending a bill to a rail yard unless your customer is the rail road. There is a process called rail billing that doesn’t have anything to do with invoices. It refers to the process of getting the info to the rail road so they know where the container is going.

    So a carrier has to be registered with each shipping company to pull their containers?

    • @Freight360
      @Freight360  2 роки тому

      You'll need to be tendered the loads by the company responsible for their delivery. If you're a carrier, you'll need to be registered with the UIIA.
