Minus the speaking part in the middle, this sounds like this could have been a b-side to Sweet Donuts or Monochrome Effect. Its that cutesy futuristic sound they did a lot back then.

@@prfm_setya95 They might make Pop, but when you write for children the hooks have to be extra simple and extra catchy.
And Nakata doesn't like simple hooks, and though they're still catchy, the composition often is very refined so you can't focus only on the main melody.
Do listen to the lyrics though. Nakata likes to make grown women cry, and he's very good at it.

    Perfume ver

Why can't girls be like this in real life? Yuka is so beautiful. All 3 of them are. The dancing is amazing. I love this song, especially when Noochie types on the imaginary computer keyboard. I love Perfume. The best band since Van Halen. I have waited for so long, and did not discover them until 2020, although I had seen their music videos on television but was only moderately impressed. Then I saw their live performances and they were too produced and they already had so many fans they did not need another. And then I was looking for a DIY Linear Motor project on youtube, and saw Linear Motor Girl, and that is the first time I got to see a humorous side to them, and I just went crazy for the song, and especially the chords on the chorus of the song, And then I noticed how amazing the dancing was, and yes, I discovered Yuka, and ... I just mainly liked that one song, and did not go looking around at their other videos until finally I did go searching for other videos, and it was Perfect Star Perfect Style, ...in the red and white outfits around 2007 or 2008 maybe, and that is where I saw Noochie for the first time sing with such passion and abandon. She closes her eyes and opens that big wide mouth, and just cries out the song instead of singing. I was moved by that, and it was that moment that I went searching hard. Then I found One Room Disco, the video outdoors, with the windmill above them, and I saw their pretty clothes, and I saw Yuka doing these amazing moves with her legs, and dancing to what many feel is their best song. The verse of One Room Disco is the prettiest thing ever. Minor 7th chords with a beautiful melody dancing on top of them.

      That was quite an outpouring!
Perfume is really a one-of-a-kind musical experience. I also went hard on listening to everything I could find from them after seeing them in a recommendation from Babymetal (and promptly forgot about Babymetal 😅).
Polyrhythm is where I noticed A-chan and just loved her expressiveness and looks, and have gotten to love her comic sensibilities and constant engagement with fans (she's my favourite). Secret Secret and Natural ni Koishite became my MVs.
I love stories about the early times just starting and their dreams and see them living it, as one of the biggest acts in Japan!

    • @jeffbeck6501

@@TheSeeking2know Thanks for understanding. After 7 months of hard core Perfume listening and watching and studying, I discovered Qulle and Danceroid, and other bands. I love Manako, and Yakko like I do Yuka. Japanese girls are amazing. They are clearly smarter than I am. And they know it. And i know it.

    • @TheSeeking2know
      @TheSeeking2know 2 роки тому

@@jeffbeck6501 I don't know about being smarter than you (you obviously communicate well, and know things about music, vis-a-vis your comment about "7th chords" and Metallica), but the music and artist culture is well developed, compellingly presented and interesting to watch from afar.
Dannceroid has disbanded I noticed. They were more of a kawaii maid-like idoal group in the few videos I watched, and they used processed vocals like Perfume. Quelle is more of a vocal/dance group (stronger voices) with a pop-rock feel. "Mic check one two" had a mix of pop, some synth, even rap! And some synchronized dances too. Very interesting. ua-cam.com/video/NQFha2dz0Ng/v-deo.html
Manako and Yako were your favourites. Any specific reasons why? Just curious.
To be honest though, in my opinion, Perfume were on another level in terms of dance-focus, precision and the high-level choreographer they worked with (MIKIKO) as well as the music (Nakata) and Rhizomatiks, though they were more techno/electronic focused (with lots pop of course) and used processed vocals to varying degrees.
They were also more of an artist than an idol group (though they started out with an idol persona), and the group they "idolized" (no pun intended) were SPEED who were definitely NOT an idol group. Perfume are veterans and big sisters (senpais) to a massive group like Babymetal now.
