🌍 Future European Stadiums in Progress in 2023

- Our tour of the world's stadiums is in full swing and we do not intend to stop at all. This time, the editors of StadiuDB.com have prepared for you a selection of European stadium projects under construction. Our list includes some of the most deserving arenas in European football, but certain destinations may surprise you in a positive way. We will be in Spain, where the redevelopment of Estadio de la Cerámica, where Villareal's excellent results have been achieved, is nearing completion, and at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, the home ground of Madrid's 'Los Blancos'.
We will also visit the British Isles, including Liverpool, where the famous Anfield is currently being upgraded and Everton Stadium is being built on the bank of the River Mersey in the historic Bramley-Moore dock. In London on the River Thames, construction of the new main stand of Craven Cottage, the home of Fulham FC, is already nearing completion. We will also be visiting Germany, Austria, Belarus, Hungary as well as Bulgaria and Turkey. Our journey will be full of thrills and not just aesthetic ones.

The last team that you mentioned - Cherno More is a Bulgarian team and they are not very well with finances. I do not know where you got your information from, but $54 mil for a stadium is something that will never happen in Bulgaria. Additionally, the team cannot fill their current stadium with capacity of 8000 seats.

Bramley Moore Dock, the site of Everton FC's stadium was not previously buried. It was a fully working dock. The shipping owners in the dock got eviction notices to quit from the dock. The World Heritage Site was infilled, then the stadium construction started. UNESCO stripped the city of Liverpool of World Heritage status because of the stadium. UNESCO mention the stadium in their announcement on stripping the city of it status.

From an aesthetics pov, most of these new stadiums look terrible from the outside, like gigantic tires of assorted colours. At least the English grounds retain some of the traditional looks of a classic football stadium. IMO, the likes of the San Siro, Nou Camp and Dortmund's stadium look much more stylish.
