😭 The packaging back then was so thoughtful and artistic! I always feel like I missed my favorite decades and by the time I find something I like about the decade I live in now, the time has passed 🥺
I was a kid in the 70's a remember the Avon lady coming to our house. My mom would sit for a long time looking at all the new products, she would always let me pick out one thing and still have many of them today! A cool little girl perfume bottle, several of the pins with cream fragrance inside and some other things. Cool memories!

I have a small avon collection too! I'm only collecting the animal shaped bottles, most of which are hand-me-downs from my great grand mother. I don't currently have space to collect more than what she left me, but one day I'd love to fill out my collection!

I have a lot of avon that belonged to my great grandma, she was obsessed with Cotillion. My favorite is the miss lollypop collection tho! It's super cute.
When you said more modern cosmetics should come in packages like this it made me think of Bésame and how cute and well-made their packaging is! Being vintage-inspired, they probably thought the same thing and decided to make it a reality

I have a bunch of my grandparents. Don't have boxes. But looking to get rid of them.
When people collect vintage perfumes (which mostly smell weird or are not safe to use) I always wonder ¿Isn't it better to get rid of the liquid and just keep the bottle, after having it cleaned? I mean that would prevent leaking or a disaster in case one shatters by accident. But I don't know. Or the cute old cream containers, could they be reused after being cleaned out and disinfected?
I can definitely see your point! However I want to keep the contents because in my mind the product is part of the history-how much of it was used & the remanence is part of the story of the piece and just because I’m not going to use it doesn’t mean it isn’t holding some value (to me at least). I keep my pieces in a glass display box that is always shut so I have no real concern with a cat knocking them off a shelf and breaking the bottle or some mishap like that. They’re safely locked away on display as they should be 💘 however I may do a good clean on the already empty ones and use them to carry something in my purse from time to time. I am really rough on anything I use though so I’m hesitant to add anything into my actual daily life haha

I think it's really cool when people fill vintage cosmetic dispensers with modern make up (like a Christine Mc'Conell video I saw), but I also get that some people might have a more purist historical preservation kind of mentality. I just was curious about your approach and if you had any plan on using the cases and bottles.
