- Laura Rogora's meteoric rise to the top of the climbing world in 2020.
2020 should have been the year that most climbers' plans were put on hold...but not for Laura Rogora, who having recently moved to Trentino, took advantage of the the lack of competitions in 2020 to go on a sending spree rarely seen in the climbing world...In this film we see one of those sends, Pure Dreaming 9a+ at the Masone Crag in Arco.

Great footage there, nice work!
I love it when I see climbers whose content I watch (Dave MacLeod!) viewing the same great content and commenting. Amazing vid!
Big ups from Dave McCleod, that's quite an endorsement.
how long is that 9a+ route, what an endurance monster .
50m!
3:22 That heel hook dayummm
I'm excited to see LR grow as a climber because she's young but already so insanely strong
Yes this heel hook was crazy !
This is such a weird title for this video.
It's the magic way of title that works not only on youtube but pretty much anywhere these days, maybe you heard about it...
It's called "CLICKBAIT"
It would be weirder if it was called "Eggplant Montgomery Triad Washing Machine".
Lots of weird words and terms in climbing in general 😁
@@davidringo4672 "I dry-fired off the jingus slimper, punting on my last burn of the day. I was using the crozzley Gaston as an intermediate off the dog but on the link I couldn't set up for the drive-by to the mono using this sequence so I had to just mob straight to the slimper using a crazy nose scum. Eventually I satched it up though, avoiding a gnarled-out wobbler and finally clipping the chains."
Bellissimo video, non so come mai mi era sfuggito fino ad ora..
Complimenti Laura.. Anche se il video è di un anno fa io ti auguro un in bocca al lupo per le sfide che ti aspettano per questo 2022!! Daje tutta!! 💪😉
What a crusher. Looking forward to seeing what her future holds!
7:08 that grip reajustement... Insane mooves
What a long and epic route!
Specially talented fearless climbers like this can block out fear of heights. Being in the military I had to deal with heights often but never was comfortable or fearless. Impressive video!
Her possibilities are endless! Can't wait to see what this young lady can accomplish in her climbing pursuits!
She is born to climb !
Sick route! Smooth and beautiful send!
I wish more people would talk about the thin line between being a light weight climber and ED’s in the climbing community. I am already predisposed to ED and battled on and off so I wonder if getting into climbing will complicate things? I know it’s not a great topic to talk about, but maybe it’s important, na?
Awesome and inspiring to watch!
Certainly climber of the year
4:02 is where the real climbing starts. Damn she's good!
Non vedo l'ora di vederti alle olimpiadi! Forza Laura!
So young and she is going to climb so much harder... Insane.
wrong the peak in climbing in the future will be at this age. same with gymnastic in my opinion, you will see in the future kids will win Olympia.
@@honigmelonemelone5585 Errr, we've seen the opposite trend in gymnastics over the past couple of decades, and I don't really see any evidence of it in climbing either.
I think she will get the first female 9b+ ascent. She has already sent a 9b and still lots of years ahead.
Does anybody know what this song is playing around 2:30 ??
Grande Laura!
Sei un ispirazione. Complimenti!
Amazing!
AMAZING CLIMBER; AMAZING VIDEO!
What is the name of the song playing in the background at 2:00 and on...I would really love to own that song, I need that in my life...Please help me...
The Everglades-Artax
I just knew a woman could climb as well as all these men with huge sponsorships. That's a long climb and she made it look easy. Someone needs to give her a ride to somewhere warm this winter so she can do her 9b.
Amazingly this video is out of date. She climbed 9b a few weeks back - Ali Hulk sit start extension. She did it relatively easily too.
there is huge gap between one 9b and 9c you know?
What knot is she tie in with at 3:48?
That's a Yosemite bowline (bulino infilato in Italian). It's a standard climbing knot that is easier to untie after a fall compared to a figure eight knot.
I don't know why I was imagining a climber with a jet pack or something
I used to think dave graham was the most similar to my body type, now i know who is basically my twin! skinny climbers rise up!
I'm actually kinda jealous of your body type. Climbing is so much easier when you weigh less. Sure, you could say it's a decision, but that's not fully true. While it's not true that you genetically can't gain or lose past a certain point, the healthy weight of a body varies, and I'm still quite heavy even though I lost my period after losing weight and it doesn't seem to come back without weight gain. Such a pain, do I want osteoporosis or death at 40 or a long life without being good at my favourite sport? Not fun.
Grande !
Climbs smooth,, and no Primal Screaming
too many edits and cut-to's
I agree. As much as I loved the video, I really like watching how they set up for clipping and what they do to fix mistakes. I learn a lot from them.
The moment when you realize that she climbed in your gym and you watched her thinking: damn she is wild!
This is out of date. She already sent Ali Hulk Sit Extension, which has a confirmed grade of 9b, which funnily enough was also covered by EpicTV. You had this in the works and put Ali Hulk before this? A bit confusing.
the video of Ali Hulk was just the send video, something like this has been in the works for a while and tells a more rounded story of her year so far...some things take longer than others...hope you enjoyed it nonetheless
What knot is she using? It doesn't look like figure 8 or Bowline.
I think it’s a competition knot
Aka bowline on a bight. As secure as the figure 8 but always easy to untie.
double bowline, way better than figure 8, won't get tighter when you fall.
E ora mi sento incredibilmente debole
Hate seeing starving oneself in the name of crushing hard
Look back at videos from when she was 14, she's always been etxtremely thin. I'm pretty sure she's just lucky with her body type, elite athletes like her get monitored a lot and if anything was off with her health they'd notice, especially since she only had her growth spurt recently. I can only imagine they pay a lot of attention to the physical health of a young extremely prominent athlete who is going through such an important physical phase.
wow mutant
The fact that Google doesn't know her weight is disturbing. I bet its 50lbs or less. My 5 year old weighs 50lbs
Too many ads
Usually not one to question thinness of a climber...but she looks unhealthy thin. But I guess if it works. Just looks bad
Just looks bad??? What??? Elite climbers aren't here for your visual enjoyment sir.
@@fuzz6263 no I mean like child endangerment
@@mylifeblog2010 Yeah. Makes sense. Poor choice of words though. She does look unhealthily thin, but since she's such a prominent climber and has only recently had her growth spurt, I assume they're monitoring her health very closely. She's also looked very thin all her life. Might be okay.
I agree....especially after watching that documentary on eating disorders in climbers, Light by Caroline Treadway. She’s a great climber, I just worry for her.
why so many hooks along the path...... pros dont need hooks rite
Anyone know what's the song starting at around 3:35?
