Thank you so much for releasing it please get a replica made. They look so much better than real skin mounts and the fish still lives. Loved that excitement
Allegheny river is not a small river at all, its pretty big most sections. Theres a creek in PA called the Bald Eagle thats not quiet half the size of the Allegheny and we have caught several 30" and 35" walleye as well as musky up around 50". I have a picture here of a guy who caught a musky in that small creek that was 71" back in the 1920's. Thing is ungodly monstrous. Enough to freak you out of it cruised by you if you were swimming
Hey man really enjoy watching you videos being from northern panhandle of WV and fishing all over the area and surrounding areas of PA and southern WV, I recently just moved to Potter County PA right on the Allegheny and was wondering in you was in NY or PA part of the river and if you ever fished around Mckean County or Potter county on the Allegheny
I fish for walleye 85% when I fish. For the other 15% of the time it's for musky. I have fished the Allegheny a bit as well as in the resivor. I live in PA. Definitely big walleye and musky in both. When I fish rivers for them I have found that Rapala Countdown sizes 5, 7, & 9 in either of the two original colors black/silver or black/gold, rod tip down with sporadic jerking. Another one I have found to be absolutely great is the Rapala Shallow Rap that only dives 4' to 6'. Size SR-7 and it has to be Bluegill color. It absolutely hammers them with a steady retrieve no jerking or pausing but it has to be bluegill color. The other colors just do not work I have found
wide spot in river just past the old pennelec power plant, shallow riffles, island with deep strong current going into a wide, long section of river, don't know exactly how it is now, power plant dumped warm water into the narrow side of island. I think 2 state records came from that hole. Had some bad ass hits, use steel leaders! GOOD LUCK!
Great thumbnail and Walleye. But you also had pike, and a HUGE smallmouth too. Wasn't expecting all that when I dropped by. Excellent vid man. Keep up the good work!
What part of the river was that. What a blast. I'd love to camp the river for a couple days. Float all day and camp at night. Sounds like a good couple days
Hey, awesome video as always. Do you know if it's legal to catch and keep SEA lamprey in pa? I'm by the delaware river, and there is a ton of them. I have heard of people eating them smoked, but can't seem to find any size limits or regulations for them
Thank you! And this was an Ohio lamprey a candidate species in PA but the sea run ones aren’t so I think you would be okay keeping them but I am not positive about that... best bet may be to call the fish commission and just check. Tight lines!!
The river lampreys are not like lake lampreys. Most are non-parasitic filter feeders. The one you caught is large enough to be one of the river parasitic types. But unlike the lake (Sea) lamprey, the little river species don't harm host fish.
Hello, big fan and subscriber! I just found your channel like a week ago my name is Chad great video! I fish kinzu below the dam. I’m not going to ask where you were fishing because of spot burning but we’re you in PA or New York ? Also can you give me some info on your lure Is it a floater or suspended does it have rattles ? I believe these would work great where I fish! I am mainly a jig fisherman with a minnows or with out. I understand if you don’t give to much up (info) and I praise you for turning loose the huge walleye maybe with all the pics and video of it you could get a replica of it mad? Ok thanks and keep reeling them in! Maybe I’ll run into you on the water some time I’m a little older 49 been fishing kinzu since I was 17 feel in love with the river ok enough Good luck!
The Allegheny brook lamprey is not parasitic on other fishes. I found them in Blue Jay Creek, a tributary to Tionesta Creek, a tributary of the Allegheny River. I repeat, they are not harmful to other fish. What you say about them is false ---look it up. They do not suck the blood off other fish. You have confused them with other different lamprey.
Agreed! I like to eat walleye but when I catch big females in a river I tend to let them go so they can keep repopulating the stream! Nothing like eating walleye though!!
That was awesome! So cool u let it go too man 🤙 just subbed. Lots of musky content on my channel and some bass/walleye as well. Check it out when u got a sec 🎣👍
Thank you so much for releasing it please get a replica made. They look so much better than real skin mounts and the fish still lives. Loved that excitement
Great!!! Your sportsmanship and love of the resource is evident in this video.😎😎😎😎
Fish of a lifetime right there. It's incredible that a relatively small river can hold such a monsterous Walleye

That’s a tank of an Allegheny River walleye. Congrats man. Thanks for the vid. God bless.
At 1:06. I wonder how many times that place has been flooded. This must be pretty far up the river.
