My own head cannon reasoning in this au is either giyuus past life was gojo but he changed personalities because gojo has always been treated as a weapon not a human and he got depressed so when he became giyuu his whole personality changed or the other head cannon for me is that giyuu has a double life same reason with the first head cannon not wanting to be treated like a weapon so yeah that's just what I was thinking the whole video:)
My headcanon for this is that when Muzan died, the ones with the demon slayer mark didn't die at 25 instead the mark mutated and created the cursed energy, which Tomioka was one of the earlier ones to notice and get a grasp on, others quickly did but Tomioka was one of the first hence why he's so powerful. As well has the events of Muzan + the new power it altered his personality.
Even in the anime they think they deserve to know every little detail about him yet they dont tell him anything? I love how gyomei is telling them that what if giyuu doesnt want to share his past with them..cause its none of their business and i hope they realize this.
