Got mine 10 days ago, IT IS a magical guitar, where II really forget what I wanted to play just because I find myself in a kind state of deep sound zu trance. IT IS overwhelmingly mesmerising and hypnotic to listen to the notes and sustaining richness of the overtones. Wow.
Just got mine today in Rosewood. Flawless and I mean flawless. I've owned many, many guitars in my life and this one is the finest acoustic ever. It's better than a Bourgeois.
Congrats! Enjoy this magical sound machine. My FG-9 R came 10 days ago and I am hypnotized by the sound and refined workmanship quality of her. If I imagine how this guitar will sound in 40-50 years I become jeaulous thinking of the lucky next owner(s)...
I forgot the ad that my case is different than the one in your video. The case is a herringbone hard fabric that is absolutely luxurious. I've never seen a case like this in my life. It's like a herringbone Tweed wood. I did get it from the custom shop
The mahogany wins easy for this model. I usually prefer rosewood but certain builds are better designed for mahogany and this FG9 seems to be that type to my ears.
@@virgilesp3954 Primarily fingerstyle and flatpicking acoustic in the style of Norman Blake, Doc Watson as well as folk rock. I also have a '94 Martin HD-28 which covers the Rosewood D sound. But the Yamaha is louder and requires less effort to generate volume. I have a LR Baggs Lyric in the Martin but play the Yamaha through a mic. If you have the opportunity try to play both. The mahogany is also a lighter guitar.
@@tedwasielewski9641 I guess we have similar taste, I like folk rock, have to choose between a HD-35 and a FG9 but I am mostly strumming. Interesting to know yamaha generates volume more easily, thanks !

Hi, can you post some pictures, please?

nice comparison
I have the FG 9 M and, for the type of music I play, I prefer the mahogany version. Both are wonderful guitars.
They are amazing guitars indeed!
I would give the edge to the FG9M myself!!
What is your type of music may I ask ? I barely hear the difference on those 2 models and can't make my mind
