- While playing around with greece and trying to find a new and more interesting way to form Byzantium, I discovered the trick to increase communism support when Venizelos suddenly died very quickly.
From that point on, it became my mission to make cursed (or blursed?)communist Byzantium a thing, and it is disgusting and beautiful.

Keep in mind that capping the allies when I did is not a requirement, even of USA joins in, you can simply take the territory required for cores still.
Also, I believe this strat can get all the Byzantium achievements, I Captured the Bosporus and All I Got Was This Lousy Achievement, Istanbul is Constantinople. Again., I Swear I'm Not a Byzantophile, and I'm not certain (since I already had the achievement), but I believe you can get This is Madness! as well.
Bad Romeance should be easily achievable after taking all our cores back as well, simply release italy and romania as subjects after the run is complete, then turn on the Soviets.

I think as Byzantium you should have a descison to fulfill Justiziars dreams and restore the Roman Empire

You had to go and do it... Communist Byzantium... Its a brilliant campaign though and really nice editing! Learned a thing or two as well, so I might put that to use in a more beginner friendly version of this ;-)
wow, byzantinum in 1941. when i was playing it i had so much struggle with germany and i got it in 1944 or so?

I did this but It was an accident. I restored the byzantium then I declared war on Soviet Union but unfortunately I lost the war because I completely forgot the Caucasian front. Then they puppeted me and I became the Communist Byzantine (Empire?).

Nice. Instead of licences you can also just temporarily trade for ressources. After you changed the law just cancel the imports.
I actually tried that directly before doing the licenses, and it didn't work.
It appears PDX patched that particular exploit
you should try to get adolphus i as emperor of byzantines. im not sure if you can get it legitimately in ironman but ive tried firing the event for it and it didnt work for me. basically i think the way its supposed to work is: hitler loses german civil war and like gets deposed or smth and then theres a small chance if greece is going fasc into byzantines to get adolphus i as an event but iirc its bugged so i believe you have to manually fire the event but even that didnt work when i tried it. youre the only person i can think of good enough and dedicated enough to actually try this but see if you can do it legit and if not try to fire the event manually.

@Hatlessspider It s kinda impossible now to form full core original Byzantium since Turkish and Romanians provide much more resistance so you cant do the multiple fake faction trick on time anymore. As a result you cant prevent Italy from joining the Axis so as far as you need provinces from all 3 factions you eventually end up fighiting a whole faction alone. In this run you were backed by Soviets. I m eager to see if you manage to fully core an original Byzantium again.
Oh and btw, when you cheesed Total Mob with those licenses i was already pointing out that you shouldn't forget those because that totally never happened to me (forest brothers vid)! 😂😂

@@hatless_spider and you still manage to punch through the italiens like that? im usualy going for a 9/2/1/1 with tak recon, heavy flame tanks, signal company and support arty but its so insaly expansive that i cant go it as a minor, but i will try your template as a minior nation

Everytime i try kicking bulgaria from faction while in war with romania, romania always lets one state and dont annex bulgaria fully ... any ideas ?

Oh man that is something i have not researched much at all TBH.
I will say though, usually the best strat to get a navy as a minor is to steal it rather than build your own

Well in this case I actually declared before molotov ribbentrop.
But in my test runs it worked even with it being active

No it's not communist support, although I can't remember if it increases Fascism or Democracy support.
Who knows though, they may have even removed that!
At least in the past, letting wargoals expire would lower your war support and/or stability.
Imagine being an American and uttering the phrase: this is probably too cheesy. Especially as a midwesterner. I am not angry, I am just disappointed.

I actually tested that idea out, but it just doesn't work unfortunately.
I am currently working on an ottoman empire recording though!

It's rather funny since this is unironically 10x better than the real Communist Greece tree which frankly doesn't do much at all..
i tried it now for 10 times but venizelos just doesnt want to die. how many attempts did u need for this video?
Are you restarting with a new game seed or are you reloading to get him to hopefully die?
Might be something that is set at game start when it will happen.
I actually did this one in one take. Unusual because a lot of times I'm doing complicated things

@@hatless_spider in the first 5 attempts, i started completly new. for the rest i made a save game in the beginning and that worked

This was default or regular difficulty.
