Being struck by lightning is quite common ( relatively ) for farm workers in New Zealand. And not always fatal, far from it. I have been in a field when my eldest brother was struck, his heart stopped as far as we could detect, but he was still breathing, spasmodically. Two of us took turns giving him CPR and by the time the ambulance arrived he was sitting up and being argumentative, he lived. Burns down his back. I knew a neighbour who was in a boat fishing when it was hit, he was badly burnt and in a wheel chair afterwards , he was permanently deaf in one ear, the palm of his hand was blown off, and it took decades for him to regain the use of that arm. The other guy who had been in the fishing boat with him had numbness in his hands all his life afterwards. And I knew another guy who was swimming at the stern of a yacht that got hit, he said he felt nothing electrical but the sound was so huge that it was like being struck all over . Everyone was temporarily deafened including him, they recovered, someone pointed out his watch to him, which on inspection, the metal expanding band was spot-wielded along one side. Not a mark on his body though.
question: I know that fishing when a storm is nearby is not a good idea and (if the storm the fishers were struck by was known to the general public of the area [ie, not sudden]) then they shouldn't have been out there anyway. But for those sudden storms or similar occurrences of reasonable ignorance, would it make sense to have a sort of lightning rod on the boats?

3:01 the fact they exist
The yolk isn't a baby chicken.
The _white_ becomes the chicken. The yolk is just nutrients for the growing chicken.
Interesting
Only the tiny white string thingy(germinus or whatever its called) in the otherwise clear eggwhite*
The rest of the white is also just nutrients.
No, that's false. The yolk forms into the chicken, just look for pictures of the development of a chicken in its egg.
Then again, if you trust a youtube comment to enrich your life with facts then you really should vow to never vote or join a debate ever again…
@@Sylfa mate you’re a UA-cam comment
@@Sylfa i raise chickens and can confirm this isn't true. i'm noticing a pattern actually, where the only people who say to "do your research" are those who didn't actually do any research, like in a previous video there was a comment with someone claiming that fish don't feel pain, and they said "do some research before spreading myths" despite the fact that fish not feeling pain is itself a myth.

When I was in middle school, one of the teachers dressed up like this for character day.
His sign said "[school name] is better than [other school name]: Change my mind."
I was the only person in the school that had almost convinced him wrong. I'm still proud of that.

2:55 this is a math meme. Not sure about it myself, but I’m pretty sure the symbol you saw was kind of like a variable but as a symbol. It can mean both 9 and 6, and that’s why the man who saw the 9 said “I agree” while the man who saw the 6 also was correct.

“13. All words are made up words”
Me, who has tried many times to say this in r/showerthoughts but couldn’t because I barely use reddit and never had enough karma: they didn’t listen, and now here we are
The fact that subreddits prevent users from posting because they don't have enough karma is proof enough that the people running them are unqualified to run any form of social media. Downvote mobbing is very easy and common on reddit, so all it takes is one asshole with no life who doesn't like you to make it so you can't post on some subreddits. Or you happen to disagree with a bunch of circlejerking losers who can't take an L gracefully.
@@kinorris1709 isn't that the point of downvotes?
@@grokborketharek8165 I could make a comment about call of duty black ops, get 5000 upvotes and 5200 downvotes, but it only appears as -200 on reddit, thus people will assume I got completely ratioed when the result was close.

The ‘singing’ cans or the ‘can choir’ always get to me. I’ve seen that meme so many times already, but I’m not complaining. I bet they have better ‘singing’ voices than me. Also the part on what or who’s the gayest makes a whole lot of sense. Of course the gays are the gayest. Well, gay also means happy, so I guess the gays aren’t the only ones who are the gayest.

technically, everything is made of something from earth. Therefore, everything should be organic.
I googled the definition of organic and I THINK this is correct
Sohow was the Earth formed? It's all random bits of space dust.
The fact that something is made from a natural resource doesn't make it organic. Something organic has to be related to or derived from living matter (according to the Oxford Languages Dictionary).
natural is a word.
