The US, Canada, Japan and Philippines are conducting a Naval exercise at the same time in the same area. The Australian did not join them this time round as the Chinese Premier is visiting Australia.
The Philippines than decided to make a surprise landing on the shoal but was stop by the Chinese Coastal Guards.
The rest of her allies just left the Area leaving the special forces behind. Footage from the Chinese showed that the Pinoy special forces was captured and detained for 12 hours and well treated.

Philippines could be the trigger point of third world war. This is not just the Philippines problem ( itself) but the whole international body is involved. Why? It’s because it’s a contested water way for ship trade routes and trillion of dollars every year is being collected from exports and imports products and raw materials.
Philippines is the only one who have balls to protect sovereign rights but the neighboring South Asean doesn’t care. This bully could lead into futher massive depression and escalation.
International must do something like sending their navy patrol ship or coast guards for patrol cooperation. They should care and do something or else it will escalate the tension into bigger world distress.

If the US is indeed recognizing Philippines as its ally and would invoke the MDT when needed, why it isn't sending its civilian coast guard to sail with the Philippines troops instead of waiting a shooting scenario between Ph and Ch? The Philippines have faced off against three superpowers in the past: Spain, Japan, and the USA. Now, China seems eager to join that list. But here's the thing: the Philippines won't back down if diplomatic efforts fail. 1. Treaty of Paris (1898): This treaty transferred the Philippines from Spain to the United States, defining the territorial boundaries that include parts of the South China Sea.
2. Treaty of Washington (1900): Clarified boundaries further between the US and Spain, reinforcing the Philippine territory.
3. Convention Between the United States and Great Britain (1930): Defined boundaries between the Philippine Archipelago and North Borneo.
4. San Francisco Peace Treaty (1951): Japan renounced claims to the Spratly Islands without assigning them to China, supporting the Philippines' claims based on proximity and historical use.

UNCLOS and the EEZ: The Philippines primarily bases its claims on the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). The Philippines argues that many of the features in the South China Sea, including the Spratly Islands and Scarborough Shoal, fall within its EEZ (CGTN) (China Daily Europe).
Historical Usage: The Philippines also asserts that its fishermen have historically used and accessed these waters and features, establishing a pattern of traditional fishing rights. This historical usage is seen as supporting evidence for their claims.
Proximity: Geographical proximity is another key argument. The Philippines contends that many of the disputed features are much closer to its mainland than to China, which should give the Philippines a stronger claim under principles of equidistance and fairness.
Arbitration Ruling: In 2016, the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague ruled in favor of the Philippines in a case against China. The tribunal found that China's claims based on the "nine-dash line" have no legal basis under UNCLOS. It also ruled that certain features claimed by China are not islands but rocks or low-tide elevations, which do not generate an EEZ or continental shelf (CGTN) (China Daily Europe).
Historical Treaties and Maps: The Philippines also references historical treaties and maps that do not recognize Chinese sovereignty over the disputed areas.
