This was a genuinely interesting insight into not only the music video, but the way you and dodie work together. And what a bloody talented group of people you have around you. This would also be a great resume for other artists, like "Here's an insight into my process. Hire me if you can afford me cos it'll be bleeding awesome."

HAHHAHA the last part had me DYING. Really really good job with the human music video everyone! It showed the new meaning of the song so well, and honestly that new meaning made me love the song even more (which I didn’t know was possible). This was so lovely get to watch some of the BTS (: the music video was lovely..

I never realise how much work and thought goes into a music video until I watch a behind the scenes. Human for me when I first listened came across as an obsession with someone, like you said. Watching the video I saw everything come alive and just everything unroll. Just amazing. Much love ❤️

the way you described the true feeling the lyrics evoke REALLY hit the nail on the head for me. when i first heard this song when dodie posted it with jon, it gave me that feeling. i thought it was inherently sweet and relatable, but it was hiding something about it in a way. and when i really read back the words and put context to everything, it made me uneasy. and i think this video encapsulates that EXPERTLY. excellent video AND excellent explanation, i’ve always admired the way you express the process of what you’ve worked on, and just seem to say the perfect way to describe it. WELL. DONE.

Everyone’s dying over the Woody shot, I personally love the final drawing. As someone with vivid visions of what I’d love to make but very little visual art ability I can see the effort that went into that and it’s incredibly relatable.
Also, not only is the music video incredible, I really enjoyed seeing you talk about it. I love this sort of thing where the artist breaks down their work, and I hope to see more in the future.

Its so interesting that i didnt realise at first how this relationship is dysfunctional but when i heard the song for the first time i was madly in love with a boy and i just tought "YES! THIS IS HOW I FEEL! THIS IS EXACTLY IT!" and i felt so embraced by the song and how it was okay for me tp feel like that. After like, two years beeing apart i had to admit i had built him up in my head and that he was actually just a pretty normal boy... And that all of my feelings towards him were weird and obsessive. I really like how the meaning of the song changed so perfectly with the timing of my feelings... You did an amazing job directing and capturing this feeling, really!

can confirm that performing to faster versions of a song is so difficult. i was in a music video as a dancer and there was slow motion involved, which meant that we had to dance at such a fast pace. i didn’t notice originally that the difference in the speed but seeing how easily dodie could lip sync to the sped up song is crazy. you’ve done a wonderful job on this video hazel!

I’m rewatching this and I just felt the need to share. Once the boy joins in singing I always thought of it as what Dodie wishes and wants him to say to her almost like she’s saying it for him to repeat. Idk just my thoughts. Also I found it interesting that when she sings “I’m so human” the boy joins in but only to say human almost to further push the idea that he’s a creation because why would he say the whole line if it wasn’t true?

I love this song so much, the meaning of it just keeps evolving for me. From the first version of it to the release of the new remastered EP version to the music video to this behind the scenes video. I keep finding more and more layers of story telling and artistry which is such a reflection on both dodie and you Hazel and the whole team behind this piece of art. I see myself in all the versions of how this story evolved, in the first sweet and innocent fantasy, to the dangerous idealization of a person to the realization in your heart that the person you want them to be in your head and the person they are in real life will never be the same. Thank you, thank you, thank you
