Hey Chris! This was awesome! I have most of those hard rock/metal albums you showed. Rappin' Rodney is obviously a classic and I'm so glad you were able to squeeze it in. Lots of great music all over the map and I appreciate you sharing all of it. And hell yeah, of course I watched the whole thing! You're officially entered with 1983.. thanks again!
Hi Chris!!! Well done and great entry to Alex's contest, that's a lot of cool music, records, cds and 7" singles too..... you were really listening to a lot of cool stuff. You must be the only entry showing all the music styles from back in the day from synthpop, punk, hardcore, hardrock, heavy metal and even some thrash and Rodney Dangerfield too, that was priceless. cheers and be well
An excellent video to watch on my lunch hour, Chris! 1983 is a touchstone year for me as well music wise, and I liked how you did all this by genre and format. We overlap a lot when it comes to 45's - and that includes Rappin' Rodney! 😎
I'm a new subscriber. I was in 9th grade in 1983 as well and all those metal lps & pop singles were in my house and I still have them. those first two Motley Crue records are the best. Where is the Queensrych EP or their first LP? I'm sure you have that laying around somewhere :)
On an 80's vinyl tag i chose 1984. I'm about a year younger than you, so i think we chose our favorite year for the same reason. We were getting into music different from our parents'.
Yeah, look at all that hair metal. If I had grown up in New York or LA I like to think I would have been into post-punk much earlier than it actually happened.
I can take my video down, hardly anyone has seen it, and I can make a new video with some lame year like 1987. Wait, I smashed my Def Leppard tape from that year. 🔨
The Three O'Clock, Rain Parade from the Tokyo Tapes I have... Didn't really have much until the last segment. I gotta say, 1983 wouldn't be my choice! '63 or '93 would top it.

I would have gotten called out if I had forgotten that last rekkid!

I laugh at people that say Eminem is the best white rapper.
@@RekkidTalk No Respect, I tell ya! ( You knew I had to reply back with that)

@@VinylPiper i had a couple of Queensryche cassettes but not the EP
Great stack of records, in 83 I was just playing football ( soccer lol) on the streets from dawn to dusk and obsessing with Alice Cooper. Cheers
I played soccer (futebol) then as well. I never got into Alice Cooper.

@@RekkidTalk That sounds perfect!

1983 was more an excuse to show my dopey metal rekkids that I bought when I was 13-14 years old, and some better rekkids I bought later.
1983 - Ofcourse! BTW you stole my year for contest! Very moshing content here! Where is your battle vest?
I never had one, and even if I did I can't fit into anything I would have worn in 1983.
@RekkidTalk Hmm. Never did I, but I had some cool hardcore tshirts. Lost now.
