Never would have thought that I'll sink so deep into this game, but played almost 20 hours in one week and won 4 out of 15 total ranked games, it's always a rush if you feel the win is close and then seeing yourself as the last one standing... absolutely love this game now, thank you for opening my eyes to it Pete and also: keep up the good content!
It's so fun to watch these high skill matches. There's so much thinking throughout the whole game. I never knew how high the skill cap was for risk. So much to think about, magenta's on the back foot at the beginning of the match and green and white put so much thought into how to position around magenta so that when the time comes they get the kill. Actively utilizing eachothers stacks to block other players from getting the kill. Making it so difficult for you to swoop in and steal it. And that's just one of many decisions that are easily overlooked. I find myself learning more and more every game and really gaining a lot of respect for how strategic the positioning in this game is. Initially watching my whole thought process was "hold as many bonuses. get big number" but there's really so much nuance to this, it's quite fascinating.
Pete, inspiring as always! I'm up to master, 17-24. Still chasing that positive record after my initial 11 losses. Just had a game where I won on my first turn. From the last position, I put my capital adjacent to my troops on a chokepoint. Mad free for all as all the players took turns capturing my weak capital. I retook it easily on that first turn and found myself facing 4 bots.
hey man! well played, you had a meh start and you took advantage of the position, after the early game you had great kill lines, i am glad to see you did well, i wish i can play with you
I love how you were talking about good neighbor bad neighbor. Green and Purple, who have been bad neighbors, then see a culmination of what happens when you go bad neighbor.
It took speed and nerves for Juice to clean the board in the closing seconds. Great to see from someone who was a solid ally and smart player throughout
(SPOILERS) Around the 37:30 mark green is getting broken in the bottom right by purple because they are card locked. Any conjecture on why green continues to reinforce the bottom of that bonus instead of something higher up? I feel like it threatens Pete whom he already has a line on from the middle.
I can't speculate what green was thinking. I didn't take the purple bounty because then I go next. I was trying to do better than third and one given I was second overall in troopers.
Hey Pete! That game was amazing! but quick question, would you ever consider hitting purple after they started beefing with green? Seemed like a good opportunity to progress the game because their attention was elsewhere, thanks for all you do!!
The pile on? I'm happy with how I played it. I stayed out of trouble for long enough to maximize points. Didn't get the w but ended up with one more point than Juice who did.
1 hour 21 minutes and 35 seconds later: Oh baby! We got some action!!! 1:21:35 Love that reaction hahaha I love risk and love your content and I will watch the entire match no matter what. But to be honest, I cannot play it as much as I would like because I hate spending 30 minutes just farming cards and stacking troops.. just too boring for me...
I think Sasha wanted to trade with Green on the VRAM area territory but didn’t know how to signal it. Purple should’ve gave up a single troop to “pretend” to attack Greens territory to signal a trade together there. Because Green couldn’t win without Purple and Purple couldn’t have won without Green. Purple understood that and took out Black but Green didn’t understand the Ally play.
That makes sense. Green didn't have to reciprocate though and took their opportunity to take a second +4. Which almost worked. At least in the short term
Pete could have took the bounty on purple at 1:23:32. Were you predicting being able to get two bounties off black killing purple? Or did you consider it at all?
I think he was considering the two bounties, but also the higher placement to maximize and get those couple extra points. If I had to guess. He talked about 1st and 1 a couple times, but also 2nd and 2.
You have to consider that taking one bounty is only worth about as many points as "missing" two bounties. If you go fourth and 1 bounty you took one and missed one. If you go second with no bounty, you missed four. So second and 0 is worth more than fourth and one. You don't need to be confident in getting two bounties later or even one bounty later for missing the bounty and preserving your strength to make sense, as long as you're confident you can make it to those later placements by doing so. So for Red and White, who are likely to make it to at least second, it doesn't make sense to take the kill. But for Green and Black, who are probably playing for third place at best unless they get lucky, taking the kill does make sense.
I’m watching the game it’s minute 52 and if you hit white as he’s was your main opponent that the time one attack 24 white lost white could retaliate but could not kill you as your 50 stake is cut off and the big stake would sink both your games would you say that is a possible move I’ll see how it ends first
I got the impression that Pete recognized Stacy(i?) as a competent player but she didn’t want to be in a stalemate fixed game for half a day. Love the progressive content though Pete!
@@TheKillPeteStrategy I wish we didn't have to think of it. It can't be too hard to make the slider automatically start at the least amount of troops to achieve 100% take. One day 🤞
Black attacking white would only result in both of them getting weaker as white would retaliate, however white has that big stack and so only black would be in trouble as purple could then kill black and black would come 5th and no bounties so he doesn't get many points, however cause he didn't, he got 4th and a bounty. Also if no one attacked black, white could have went through the middle green and still been able to kill black.
@@TheKillPeteStrategy I didn't think risk player base was that small that they need to fill tournaments with new players. Any other e-sport worst tier is still filled with insanely high skill players. It is not on you tho, you didn't kill the game.

Black really said "alright, new objective, kill Purple" and then didn't deviate an inch from the plan for an hour until it was complete. Beautiful.
You were so respectful to their poor play in the beginning, but as time went on you couldn’t handle but comment on their horrible judgement 😂
I always try my best to be respectful of my opponents as people but still critical of bad plays when I see them.
Black's recovery before the bot-out was pretty nicely played.

If you take an early bounty and get 4th, it's not nearly as many points. So those kills are pretty risky.
I definitely wanted two bounties and a higher placement so I'm happy with this outcome.
You have to consider that taking one bounty is only worth about as many points as "missing" two bounties. If you go fourth and 1 bounty you took one and missed one.
