Follow up on your answer to my question 12:14. I ended up turning in my two weeks and the president of our company ended up offering me a dream role of mine and got me to stay.
I always see that as a risk (ha), because a lot of bosses will see that as ether you threatening them (give me something better, or I leave) or that you are very mercenary, and neither are employees that they would want. I hope you did it, as Pete suggested, by making it clear there was nothing personal, and you'd like to stay. Best of luck to you!
This has been requested multiple times on multiple videos and been the most liked comment multiple times - Pete and the editor do not care about spoiling the videos for their current viewers - the intros apparently are good for attracting more viewers some how by helping the youtube algorithm? (God knows) so yeah good luck getting them removed i’ve asked before!
@@agkilla First timer here. I saw the intro and it was actually quite effective. Tbh I don't even remember it spoiling the video. Only that he said something along the line of "I've played alot of noobs". 👍
Omg that was by far my favorite classic fixed video of yours! Making it suspenseful and then right when purple thinks you giving him second you slam him from the board! As he deserved for that wuss play. Laughed my ass off! xD In the last few weeks I have come to enjoy prog more (cause it's just faster and the snowballing is so satisfying when you get it) but I still LOVE to watch classic fixed when you play! What a rollercoaster of emotions, the twists and turns in this game. Loved it! GG WP Sir!
I swear watchin you play is like having a dinner and a movie with a side of extreme old memory knowledge. Love your vids and games. Keep it up brother.

Another amazing Data moment is when he is acting captain and Worf is his first officer, Data has a problem with how Worf is acting as he is not used to the position and they have this amazingly professional and realistic conversation about it, while also making sure their friendship stays intact (if anything they grow even closer and gain even more respect for eachother). The writers made an amazing and memorable scene by avoiding the trap of adding more drama and conflict. God I love startrek ❤

I actually have some success with Australia when I have a non-position. The trick is to let a suicide fight happen for it while you are chilling and consolidating somewhere in Asia like Siberia Ural or mid east. When the fight for it happens, you go clean up. Usually at that point you're the only threat on Australia left as everyone else has gone for sa, Africa, na or Europe and are fighting over usually over Asia. None can just run you over, without throwing the game and just ensuring they die 3rd. You can't take either. Eventually the game progresses to someone in Na, someone in Europe, and someone controlling sa and Africa to all be generating 5 while I sit generating 3. They eventually realize they have to kill eachother while I play passive, and when they do I trade my position. Or I leave after amassing a good troop number and when someone moves to take it they invariably get attacked. Then i can go for whoever overextends.
Spoilers below: Here is a thought: Blue was in the same lead gap that Pete ended up greeding up and taking over. Pete mentions the result was the way it should have been an hour ago, but the only thing that shifted was Pete and Blue swapping because he waited everyone else out
Tachyon detection grid, Data slapped up Sela and the Romulasns turned tail and ran. Utterly fucking trolled the Duras sisters! Nice trek commentary Pete! more of this!
I did enjoy that game. Blue played quite well given the immense provocation by red, but they shouldn't have broken red and distracted the goldfish. Pete played like a GM who really likes his big stack. 😆
Watching your videos have helped me improve my ability massively. Was stuck at beginner rank for weeks before finding your channel, now climbed up to expert . Thankyou for your content and keep up the great work
Never take Australia is S tier advice for facing noobs, you can have the most brilliant starting position for Australia and somebody will still try and take it from Asia
11:50 a good play by Purple here would be to go to east USA, essentially offer green a trade of SA for NA, its a risky play since green might still, be annoyed at you but its better than just getting into a pissing match
Just want to say you and vampirechicken got me back into this game after loving then hating it as a kid. Learning the actual strategy has totally changed my mindset of this game. Through your teachings I am now 11-13 in online FFA with my best win being against a top 200 GM
The stalemate was rough. The way red switched aus to USA with blue was sick. But the highlight for me has to be the end where Pete takes blues stack and purple thinks for a second Petes gonna let him take 2nd😂
I like the Data episode where he's kidnapped by a cruel murderous collector and struggles with his programming and his conscience over whether to kill to save lives.
Just found this channel, had a video on while i was doing some cleaning and woukd stop when shit was popping off Think this guy will get me back into risk lol I used to play the board game alot as a kid
I think Blue's thought process with the five in Siberia is that he can still give you a 1 troop card whilst also moving his troops off of the UK, to then fortify all those troops back to eastern europe on his next turn. Until red killed his 5.
Pete I don't know if you'll see a comment this late, but when chat asked you your favorite Data episode, the one you listed is EXACTLY the one I was expecting you to say. Good choice.
Allow me to explain red's decision at 19:00 where he feeds purple, as a noob myself, still learning and getting better I think, he just saw an opportunity to get rid of another player from his side of the board, less people to try to attack his interests. Not looking at getting final kills.
13:25 in my opinion, counter offers are such a dangerous game. If your only concern is better compensation, you're almost better going to your employer and asking for a raise. Generally speaking however, I think most people look elsewhere because of other issues impacting job satisfaction, i.e. management, hours, etc. which may be mitigated by a higher salary but will likely continue despite the additional compensation. In addition, companies may not want to risk your departure in the future and may take steps to phase your role out. Finally, they may see your increased salary as a cause to limit or remove future compensation increases to offset the cost to the company.
46:42 You did the Enterprise Bridge background and said you were Picard or Data, but all I saw was Acting Ensign Wesley Crusher. From that angle you look a lot like Wil Wheaton. ;)
Also, that ending is the crazy thing about risk. When you play everything right and all your cards and plays line up.... red *could* have just suicided into you and forced the loss. Not what happened but the fact that so much of the outcome is multiplayer determined and doesn't always come from you playing well
I've started going for Australia in noob lobbies a lot. Australia sucks in expert lobbies, but vs noobs who I've seen countless times intentionally lose the game to knock someone out, Australia is so far secluded that it's often ignored once it's secured. Noobs love slamming into big bonuses hallucinating thinking they'll get it for free and everyone will just let it happen. So I've learned to let them do it, and turtle in Aus. Terrible strat, but it's the guaranteed noob lobby survival strat
Like seriously, the amount of times I strategically took over a large bonus planned from turn 1 and for zero reason, and at the cost of their life, some noob suicides into me, I've stopped. And I decided I'll take as unwanted of a position as possible to turtle for late game
My favorite Data moment is when Picard had to argue against Riker to prove if he was an individual with rights and Picard owned them with his closing remarks 👍
Well, you can say about the red player what you want. I would say you can also interpret his play as continuously trying to progress the game on a board with rather passive players to the best of his abilities, although probably not always that best move objectively (If such a thing even exists in the world of RISK). Also props for the upgrade from Aus to NA. I also disagree that a downgrade is generally bad. I would rather downgrade and have a chance of playing a game than eating a suicide. But play styles vary. GG.
For me sometimes its acceptable to downgrade i.e. if they have more troops than me and move their stack into my continent, but if I have more troops than them I won't trade down
As my game is growing and elevating, I definitely notice more time spent in these games with at least 2 other players during a v6 ffa. I had to play almost 4hrs the other day because no one would make a move other than card trade and I had to work a way to win and not be suicide 3rd place. I did eventually win that game but it took a long time and some risk and luck as well.
at 1:05:30 why wouldnt you move your stack to brazil. if he breaks then it is a 2 loss. but since he matched it basically was saying "hey we had a war i am cool if you are" so moving them keeps from both breaking and lets red depressurize
I was surprised that you didn't take you your SA stack up the 4 purple territories so that you could make the space between purple and red attack-able for purple. That may have been incentive enough to make purple finally take back NA.
I just can’t believe everybody leaves their borders open and everyone lets the guy in the lead build up. That never happens in the games I play with my friends, Benn playing this game for 55 years.
I'm not sure why you didn't help purple get cards after red broke him in North America. You could've started trading with him in Central America. Pretty sure purple would've taken you up on that offer and maybe felt strong enough to kick red out of North America eventually.

100% explained to them the only reasons were based on the difference in benefits and pay structure and not anything on a personal level.
I'm happy to hear it all worked out for you brother! I figured why not try
This is the mostly friendly game of risk ever. Felt like in the end everyone would just leave just so no one dies lmao.

He's a surly fellow sometimes.
when he dropped the cat, the sound effect made me laugh out loud
The evil laugh at the end😂. I love how all risk players have that at least a little bit in their personality.
I mean they are all being generals , its kind of their thing

Data firing the phaser as he is being transported. The baddie was torturing the other captives trying to get a rise out Data.
That's such a great moment
Purple being ok with a backdoor usually indicates alliances with alot of people in this case everyone except green and red hence taking out red
Respect the LTCMDR Data respect. For kids growing up watching TNG, Data learning about humanity paralleled our own growth and maturing.
