This storm tore championships away, and even the straw we attempted to lay for the dogs. I was working race comms that night at Safety Checkpoint, 22 miles from the finish in Nome. I have great respect for Aliy, Jeff, and Dallas, all who were winners that night in my eyes.
Aliy won that race as far as I’m concerned. What an amazing human being! That’s the kind of person you would want in a foxhole with you, if you had to be in one.
