The one problem with the update is that people don’t like their progress being taken away. Removing the signs that people have earned and enjoyed without giving something back is a little bit annoying but the kind of thing to set some people off. I think it would’ve been a good idea to give 1-2 talent points per sign unlocked for the characters, but it’s definitely a better system imo. I like skill trees and I like them being very difficult to choose what to take.
I think you're right that it would have been better giving some points for those achievements.
To me, this just shows the ignorance of the people who signed up despite numerous times saying it. This is early access. Its how it works. Dont like it, DONT sign up for it.

@@derpywhooves. By all means. I'm saying the critique in this case is unfounded and flawed. This was always going to be how development was going to unfold, its alpha, the dev's have said so regularly. Even at beta testing lvl, progress is regularly reset. Complaining about this is not having acknowledged all the input and warnings from dev's since dropping early access. Holding onto all your progress defeats the point of the early access where the dev's are wanting to test balance and other things. Holding onto/getting things you wouldn't normally defeats the entire point of the process, testing etc.
I now have a reason to play more of the game I really enjoy. Go ahead, devs, take my progress away every big patch, I DARE YOU! The talents might feel overwhelming to returning players if you're like 30h deep and you start from "zero" but as a new player starting and unlocking talents from Act 1 already, it sets up the progression perfectly.
Your complaint about reduced level-ups is valid. With gifts now reaching level ten, and a limited number of slots for gift types, getting more level ups of less individual significance definitely seems like the better game mechanic. More level up choices means that builds can be defined more specifically, and considering that gift synergies play a big role in build designs, having more points where your decisions can shape how a build pans out is better.
I've been reaching 40+ with each run as Lorien. Seems fine to me personally.
One thing design-wise that stuck me was that until you get the bouncing arrows talent on lorien, it feels almost mandatory to get the Time attack buff that adds bounces; otherwise your clear feels comparatively way worse
I can see that, the difference between having and not having the bouncing arrows is maybe a bit too much. I can't imagine a build ever not taking that talent

I only had 30 minutes to play yesterday and I tried to play Lorien in Act 2 with a couple of mediocre shop items. Act 2 is definitely meant for a decently well geared act 1 character with a decent amount of talent points.
Its all about your skill choices. I beat Act 2 my first go with Lorien. I ran lighting and with as much atk speed I could muster and damage.
If Death Must Die is so good, why isn't there a Death Must Die 2?

took a couple shots but I managed to beat act 2 with Avoren, with minimal / little Tier 2 items; Equibrium is still great, and playing defensively is definitely valid, i have not had any luck with glass cannons :)
Tier 2 items in the second area only ? Or is it cursed level based ?

I got a gem high run from level 2 with lorian and got level 73 today. It was wild
Going with the Egyptian theme I think the sickle wielders are Jackals but not 100% sure on that.
One thing I didn't understand and isn't updated in the wiki yet. I don't know if you talked about it but du you know how the Curse Status now scales? Previously it was with Spelldamage but with that out of the picture, I would presume it either scales with Attack Damage or with Cast Damage. Do you know more about it?
I don't but I plan on investigating soon. It should be scaling off status effect damage

Sickle guy looks like the representation of death in the latest puss in boots movie (its a wolf in a shadowy cloak with a sickle in each hand) so i can see where the comparison comes from

my best run act2 from yesterday is Nixi last 20min but Djinn instantly kills me with fiya🔥🔥i'm not good enough for act2 yet😅😅😅

Loosing the signs will hurt, but as you mentioned, the skill-tree more than makes up for it
Yeah, I suggest not trying to push difficulty in act 2 until you have most of your talent tree unlocked

They should have given the people who completed all just Some points to start of with. It just feels a bit unfair to start at 0 with all.
Yeah, should have given everyone like 1 point per achievement imo. It's not unfair just a feel bad moment.
Do your self a favor and build the new character for all strike, get the mark talent, and all attack crit %. Then get the last talent that makes it so that when your attacks crit, it does 3 strikes automatically…it is HILARIOUSLY broken!! I am on an Act 2 clear streak of 10 with this build, it is crazy fun!

I'd just point out while you're talking about filling out the slots to "make the build" so you eliminate the same type of spells from the pool. You're 13 mins into the run, no dash, missing 1 strike, 3 cast, 1 power. It's not actually a realistic thing in game, i'd expect a the bones of a build to be fleshed out when you're already more than half-way into a run. In practice it unfortunately doesn't happen!
Each level-up we're struggling to get 1 out of 3 spells that would be useful for us, is it just me or does that feel kind of bad? Considering we level up less too. Would it be crazy if act 2 was 30 minutes instead of 20??
You aren't wrong. I do think xp gain should be buffed a bit. But I REALLY don't want to have 30 minute stages.
