One thing I feel like no one really talks about is that Zarbon has like 3 potara earrings on him and I always wonder if there was a reason for that lol
As much as I love the original Z, there's a part of me that wants to see what Kai looks like
Vegeta really is ego driven, some of the stuff with Z that he cared about his farther and people I don't think is as true, Vegeta is prideful that he's a part of the saiyan race but he didn't care for people weaker than him like a lot of Saiyans, is pride and ego is really pivotal to him when he faces Freiza at one point, he grew up not knowing what a father is so when the Cell Saga comes along Vegeta gets some cool development. The contrast works well with Goku who is also a Saiyan and you can see Goku's nature even in the Broly movie at the end when he asked to be called Kakarot

I grew up watching the Kai version of the story so I naturally have a bias. I actually would sometimes watch the Funimation dub for Z whenever it showed on Toonami and I still enjoyed it. However, when you go from Kai to Z, you really notice how many still frames/staring, unnecessary dialog, or even complete filler scenes it uses. It's no secret that they were added to pad out the show so the manga can stay ahead. Some of the dialogs from Z come off as a little corny since they were pandering towards kids and not every line in Z has great delivery, still, I enjoy watching it. I admit some scenes were done better in Z but some scenes were done better in Kai.
I think Buu saga (bar the blaring inaccuracies in some dialogue) is done much better in Z than it is in Kai. Kai Buu saga felt very rushed (which it was, since it was a split second decision that came after the success of Battle of Gods)
