- Fishing with Breadpunch on the Pole for Beginners - It's been quite some time since I used to catch Roach in Winter on the Midlands canal network, so I decided to see how well it would work for smaller carp in my local pond.
As with all fishing, it is a matter of trying different depths, bait sizes, feed amounts and the strength of the tackle used.
Hopefully I will have shown you the basics of breadpunch fishing in this video. All you have to do is to learn how to adapt the tackle and feeding techniques for different species of fish and the venues you go to.

@@FishingwithDen den is that the Preston punch set,and are the sizes correct I catch alot of fish dobbing in winter bunt need a new punch set ,thanks in advance den
@@neilmurphy9926 It is the Preston set Neil and I just measured the internal diameters for you. They are not exactly accurate, but they aren't that far off.
Pro tip : you can watch series on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.

Hi Den, you can also use the toast to bait the feeder rod. Or does the bread fly off the hook if I throw a 30-40 gram basket at long range???
Hi Ralf. You can use the Breadpunch on a Feeder Rod. It's best to use a Hair Rig for this because you can put on 1, 2, 3 or 4 pieces on depending on what you want to do. For example, if you use 2 pieces and squeeze them slightly to remove some of the air, you can have a small bait which will sink. On the other hand, if you put 4 larger pieces onto the hair without squeezing the bread, then it will float up off the bottom to whatever length of line you have for your hooklength. I hope that helps.

Hi Geoff. Thanks for your comments. Changing things around slightly, can definitely make a difference to your catch rate. As I said in the video, it's been a long time since I used Breadpunch, so I am a bit out of practice, but hopefully I got the general idea across. The Bread box is from Preston innovations.
Fishing with Den I do a lot of.floating bread fishing on the surface with a small controller for the carp,feeding dog biscuits or bread, that box will come in handy thanks for the info. Any chance you could a vid on surface fishing in the future ?
@@shed43a I definitely want to do one on surface fishing mate. Unfortunately, the carp in many of my local venues don't seem to respond to it. The times I have tried it over here haven't gone well. On one occasion, I spent an hour getting them confident before putting a bait in amongst them. When I did start, I caught one fish and every other fish disappeared for the rest of the day. I will however, keep trying.
Fishing with Den That’s a pity maybe they need educating lol when your fishing pole or feeder take a loaf with you. One thing Iv noticed is that you don’t have much bird life on the waters you fish.
@@shed43a I've tried educating them mate. For example, I throw in the remains of a full loaf every time I go to Den's Pond. When I look back down the hill, I've never seen a carp come up even once. It's so frustrating. I have only found one venue where they will come up, and that was the one where I caught one fish and every other fish disappeared. One day I will teach them what bait is. Lol.
I am tight and just peel a bit of bread off and hook it up. It is strange how some places seem fickle on what they will eat I tried some mix I made up with jelly powder, bread and oats but did half red and the other half yellow. Caught on yellow but blanked on red not even a knock? Great vid shame tech let you down.
Exactly Phillip. Changing baits, or even using different colours of bait call make a big difference to your catch rate. Yes, sorry about the tech, unfortunately the GoPro Session Camera has an internal battery which cannot be swapped out.

What's the venues name you are fishing
It doesn't have an actual name Paul. It's just a pond at the end of the street where I live. I call it Den's Pond because I am the only one who ever fishes it.
