'Changing Batteries' is a final year animation production made in Multimedia University, Cyberjaya,Malaysia. The story tells of an old lady who lives alone and receives a robot one day. Based on the theme 'Change', our story tells about their relationship development with one another through time.

This makes me scared of the day my grandparents die.
I have only one grandparent left. My grandpa on my father's side died when I was a baby because of Diabetes. My grandma died on 2019 in my birth month due to a stroke. I celebrated my 13th birthday on my grandpa's death ceremony on November 2019, he died due to liver failure. The only one left is my grandma on my Dad's side, so I'm gonna cherish her.

I lost a maternal grandma (I never met her and died a year before I was born and but my existence gave hope to my mother because she was so close to my grandmother so much ) and paternal grandpa( I saw him but only met him when he was ill and eventually witnessing his death which I did not know because I was still a toddler ) and I never knew them well but I know they are great people and again thats life everything is temporary but lets enjoy what we can to conclude a well lived life here

Guys, my grandad has had pulmonary fibrosis for a few years now, and I literally just found out today that people diagnosed with it are only meant to live 3-5 years. I’m in tears. I’m only 16 and I lost my dad to cancer when I was 12. I’m not ready to lose another person. This had me sobbing.

I have watched this video more than 20 times and each time I cried so badly.. It's very heart touching video ever I have seen in my life.. The relation between robot and grandma was priceless.. I love the person who made this speechless video.. Hands off.
this is the most beautiful movie I have seen in a long time. wish I had a robot son or daughter then I could have someone who would love me more than the kids I have now. I havent heard from my daughter for years and the rest is too much to write here. thanks to all who worked so hard on this , wish I had it on dvd so I could watch when I am sad.

I cry for the robot's love for old lady when he puts Battery in her pocket. I was impressed with the beauty of the relation ,link between them which is entirely inconceivable in real life but this teaches us what is important thing for life.

My mom passed away a two years ago from cancer. She showed me this video a few years prior to her dying and I didn’t really want to watch it because I was to embarrassed to show my feelings. It’s been two years since my mom passed away now and every time I watch it I cry because it reminds me of her so much. I miss her.

7 years ago when i was younger i always used to watch this filmed and then i'd cry.
Up to this day im still crying, this hits harder because my grandma has stage 4 cancer herself and shes getting weaker. I just didcovered this again by looking through old likes on my youtube, i completely forgot about the film, then all the memories came flushing in when i was just younger. And the grandma in fhe video reminds me of my grandma back then when she would make me do errands, now shes not the same and shes bedridden. This film always made me cry when i watched it as a kid and now ots till making me cry, grandma's love = forever.

I started crying like crazy when he died and they went to the circus in the afterlife. I wanted to take my two dogs for a morning walk the next day, just like the other days and it was so calming and the grass would always be wet, but on October 2023, my dear old Coco was ran over by a car. Later in the morning I cried, I couldn’t believe he was gone. Now it’s just Hudson who I take for a walk. My sister wanted to go for morning walks with us but always overslept, and so now she wasn’t able to walk Coco now that he’s gone 💔

I cried while watching this, this is very sweet I can’t imagine when that happens with my grandma i would be very sad, I’d cry really hard cause she took care of me when i was younger a lot more than my other grandma who is rude, she cared for all of us and didn’t have favorites.
She has to get an operation in her leg because of a bone she said that she doesn’t want to because it will cost money and she’s kinda scared, I don’t want to lose her
But she’s still strong so I believe she will still live for a long time

Well, thank you for this short film. Somehow for how I understand the story is about an old lady living alone and suddenly this cute robot came into her life at first she thought that coz its a robot so it will do what u will say or what is programmed for him to do...but as time passed by and she noticed that its not just a robot but a robot that cares about the old lady and change the ways she think of the robot. Until its time for her to go and the robot was alone but not for long the robot died coz no energy running through his batteries anymore then seem they meet on their second life.
-this is how I understand the story. The robot was able to change the way the old lady think of herself being alone. The robot made her realize that his with her and she will not be alone anymore. For me I like this short lil' film coz it reminds me of my Grandma and I missed her so much that I cried watching this coz I was not with her when she left(died).

Its been years since this animation was uploaded, i watched this again in 2023 and made me cry, my grandma died 3 years ago, and her smile always is in my heart, its makes my heart break that i didnt get to see her for the last time, in the hospital, every memory of her was in my heart, my one other cousin always bullied me, acting like were friends, she stood up for me, but i never stood up to see her. One last time, i wanna see her again..
I don't think the title portrays what the video is actually about though. It makes it seem like she would stop loving the robot (if she ever fell in love with it) but she loved it even after her death.

Oigan , asi es la vida , ya hace 4 años se murio mi bisabuela , tenia 8 , murio a los 92 años, vi como ella ya no estaba con nosotros , se que se siente feo pero , se que se fue a un lugar mejor con sus hermanos y su familia, falta mucho para que este con ella , pero una cosa , *DISFRUTEN SU VIDA* ella la disfruto al maximo, ella esta ahora con Dios Todopoderoso, todos partiremos algun dia , tarde o temprano , creo que nadie leera todo esto , cuando vi el video, me acorde de ella , senti como aun estaba conmigo .
Cuando naci estaba ella y le dijo a mi mamá (nieta)
"Nunca los conocere" pero ella si me conocio hasta que murio , su hermana murio luego de meses (90 años) pero ellas estan mejor alla....
Asi que , no se pongan asi , sigan asi , ellos aun estaran con nosotros.
