This time i pick a track from THE best Heavy Metal Album of all time: "Painkiller". It's the ultimate Heavy Metal experience. If an alien from out of space would land on earth and you would show him some music, especially Heavy Metal, it would be without a doubt JP's Painkiller.
It's the total package. Nobody did an album like this before and nobody, and i mean absolutely nobody will ever reach the genius and perfection of this band like they do in 1990/91. The liveshows were crazy, with an totally exaggerated outfit, stage presence ,charisma and ultra sharp sound. I refer to a liveshow at "Rock in Rio 91", where the band played in front of more than 100.000 people at the Maracana Stadium. Rob Halford (The Metalgod) in shiny black leather covered in metal rivets and fringes started the show with a ride on his Harley Davidson on the stage, while Scott Travis pounded his Tama Chrome Art Star to the intro of "Hell Bent for Leather" followed by "Grinder" and "Heading out to the Highway" , for me it's the best live performance ever and i get goosebumps every time i hear or watch the video's of this show.
It was a big sensation back then for everyone, as the "oldies" showed the Youngsters like "Pantera, Metallica etc..." how the masters of their craft do their work. And everybody knew who was the boss . This Album hits like a bomb.
I was 5 years old, as my father put the tape in the car radio of our RENAULT 18 combi, oh man the whole car was shaking like hell, i loved it :)) It was loud, it was fast, it was wild !
Almost every track is a masterpiece. Hell Patrol, Leather Rebel, Night Crawler, Metal Meltdown and on and on...
The coverartwork with the Painkiller riding on the Metalmonster who destroys the evil in the world is timeless !!
Everything else I need to say is that Judas Priest are the ultimate Metalgods and this particular album proves it, period !!
Painkiller is a very difficult song to play. There is not really a time signature after you can adjust, it's about 100 and 105sh BPM and you always have to find the "the golden middle". I had some little struggles here and there especially at the ending solo of the song, i missed the end but i did a little "comedic interlude" to distract that i f...d up the outro. Well i do it all live with no tricks, so it's no problem, when i can show you that i'm just a human who made some little mistakes like at a live situation, so we wanna keep the things here authentic . In other words, I just was too lazy to play the song again properly ;))
Anyway, seen as a whole i think the drumcover have succeeded very well
and my audio engineer skills gets better everytime.

i am a drummer too of 60 yrs old been playing since i was 8 last time i played professionally was 2012 and i live in apt situation and cannot play with kit set up but will again soon still have kit and practice pad you are my new inspiration thanks
