You're absolutely correct. We get paid to operate and maintain these tanks, which occasionally requires that we add oil to the transmission. Adding oil to the transmission, over a long period of time, results in a number of empty oil drums which eventually need to be transported to a disposal facility...
it annoys me how the civilian population " not all" expects us to be robots. How we should never get down time. What little downtime that does make its way to the internet get nothing but hate. i am now out of the army and i see civilians fuck off in the workplace all the time and they only spend 8 hours a day in there then get to go home to their family every day. The people that do hate on these videos id like to see go a whole year without down time. From getting mortared, rocketed, shot at, blown up ,ect. Think you can do it? Enlist and show me then.
911 was done by the goverment, you had no reason to be there. Saddam Hussein was one thing. But the weapons of mass destruction bush said Osama had was bullshit. We occupied and overthrew their government. I'd fight any military foreign or otherwise too if they were in my country and you would too.
My job isn't to ask questions. I take orders and make sure they are Followed to the out most of my ability. You are here because of that same mindset every soldier has.
When I was stationed in Berlin Germany in 1972 , we used M 60 tanks to destroy top secret radio(?) Equipment in the same manner. 40 th Armor and ASA field station.
they brought down a dictatorship? well, the region keeps politically unstable and people remain miserable. but yeah, they brought down a dictatorship... thats what matters
dog11222 yea smashing them makes it easy to transport to be melted down into new metal to be used again learn why people are doing something before you comment.
that is oil spilling on the land there...yup that is good for the environment....used motor oil that is why you dump it on your lawn to keep your grass alive and well
That guy is so cleaver, after putting his hat into the oil, he bet the drum 2 more times after is has completely disconnected from the caterpillar... genius guy.
No need for a garbage crusher! This is a good way to make the barrels take up less space when transporting them to be recycled. Its way more economical than buying a garbage crusher and transporting that big ol thing around. They're making efficient use of what resources they have. Cheaper to haul them when you can fit more on one truck hauling them out to be recycled. I swear people on youtube will hate on ANYTHING lol. Idfk why people are butt hurt about this. Use your brain people!!!
They don't recycle out there. They dig holes and burn/bury the waste. They're polluting the planet badly - oil, smoke, waste. Read some comments to see they bury the waste including metals. You stupid.
Ok listen. This is actually very green for Earth. They just melt the drums down and make more. Think about it would you want to transport uncrushed pop cans, no, because it's more economical to crush em.
milldabeast519 Probably, considering we air drop fuel to a lot of bases which comes out to $400 dollars a gallon, I just dont think we give a shit sometimes.
Buster Cherry so they spent 500$ on fuel for no reason and dumped trash on there land. in merica. we would charge you for dumping littering ect ... no wonder they want you gone
milldabeast519 Please come on. I don't know where your living, but trash is everywhere on the streets in the US. Assuming you live in "Merica" then you realize you paid for that fuel with your taxes since that is the United States Army in the video. Fuel burning does not effect why they want us gone. Neither does leaving metal barrels, but if they did I am sure the Iraqi's would thank them for the scrap income.
Buster Cherry what im saying is where im from.... canada. if you go put 5 barrel in the bush and drive over them and leave them your looking at fines and charges up to 10 000$. yes we have minor garbage on the streets. but if 99% of our citizens see somebody tossing 5 steel barrels in the bush there gona call the cops. painted steel with chemicals aint worth shit or my time wasted scraping it since most ppl have a real job...... and yes i realize that would be my taxes if im merican thats why i was bitching. there wasting there money doing this shit and pissing off people living there. like children!
Something something, EPA, something something dry sweep. Anyone in the Army that worked with tracked vics in a motorpool should get that (I hope I've been up all night lol).
@pogisiG Diesels last longer than turbine engines. Will go many more miles or hours before overhaul compared to turbines. Turbines produce more power for their size compared to a diesel.
...In order to reduce the number of trucks required to move these empty drums, we make them smaller by removing most of the air from inside the containers. Perhaps the quickest and easiest way to accomplish this task is crushing them with the tank, so yes; this is video of us doing what we get paid to do. Good observation. Thank you.
So many educated civilians and people from other countries talking trash in the comments over U.S Marines boosting morale around base. Fuck sake everyone argues about anything with very little prior knowledge.
That last drum put up one hell of a fight...immobilising a tank and taking down a soldier...Uncle Sam Needs You!! **Points at last Drum**
You're absolutely correct. We get paid to operate and maintain these tanks, which occasionally requires that we add oil to the transmission. Adding oil to the transmission, over a long period of time, results in a number of empty oil drums which eventually need to be transported to a disposal facility...
Tank crushing tank sized beer cans.
Glenn A that’s MTAV sized beer cans my son
Hells yeah :D
Just a normal sized tinny for us Aussies.

My dad was in Army and my brother in the Corps. I love the ways you all are able to, as much as possible have fun in shitty situations.
Alex Sweet lol fucking liberals ... I m not from USA but we have some people like you in our nation too .they won't respect nation
@@EkCitizen me too
I always thought the m1 a1 was one of the most beautiful pieces of equipment ever made. That and the Apache
That's how you recycle
Nathan Bender that Tank is like a armed garbage truck
Maybe they are using the metal sheets. They could put the metal and add armor to an old humvee door or something that's been shot.
well they should be able to win a war vs empty 44gal drums if it comes
HEY!!!! These were 55 gallon drums. Don't sell them short!
Keeps them from being re-used by the enemy. They make bombs out of them and use them to carry fuel for their equipment
Redstone never underestimate enemy drums
I hear war drums in the distance........
In Canada, we eat those for breakfast
The fun you can have with a tank. Lol
love the sound of the engine on M1A1
Ladies and gentlemen, a 2.4 Million Dollar can crusher..
When I was stationed in Berlin Germany in 1972 , we used M 60 tanks to destroy top secret radio(?) Equipment in the same manner. 40 th Armor and ASA field station.
Are you sure there not the 'weapons of mass destruction '
Paul Batchelor They're*.
ehh they bring freedom
+Latner32 Freedom by force
they brought down a dictatorship? well, the region keeps politically unstable and people remain miserable.
but yeah, they brought down a dictatorship... thats what matters
it`s still an invasion though
That's tough work. No wonder these guys come back with you know what.
I worked on the older junk, M48 AVLB, M88, M9 ACE, and others. As a mechanic I hated getting into the M1driver seat because I am 6,2.
Recycling at its finest! America taking care of the environment! ............
dog11222 yea smashing them makes it easy to transport to be melted down into new metal to be used again learn why people are doing something before you comment.
sexy sloth this was a sarcastic comment by the original poster so I informed him what anyone that does any research would find out ?
that is oil spilling on the land there...yup that is good for the environment....used motor oil
that is why you dump it on your lawn to keep your grass alive and well
The oil probably came from the wells in the middle east they are just returning it to where it came from lol.
I don't know whats more crushed, the barrel or the dudes self esteem.
After a hard day at work, that's gotta be satisfying.
lol I thought that a man would get crushed before watching the video (Title seems me)...But when I opened it, it's all lol 😂
Now you can put those crushed drums on the tanks for extra protection.
That guy is so cleaver, after putting his hat into the oil, he bet the drum 2 more times after is has completely disconnected from the caterpillar... genius guy.
''GUYS....LOOK THERE IS OIL, QUICK, ATTACK, BRING ME THE SLEDGEHAMMER...ah, nvm, its just a barrel''
0:56 "Come here battle buddy, I bet you need a hug after that"
Ahh, the world’s most beautiful tank...
So this is where my tax money goes
No need for a garbage crusher! This is a good way to make the barrels take up less space when transporting them to be recycled. Those DATs trying to kick the stuck barrel of the track was hilarious.
I think that only works when the message someone else is trying to convey is actually somehow connected to what you were saying before.
0:51 purple heart
its a very cheap alternative to a waste compactor..
Not really.
60 gallons a minute
DerSpeggn if you want a waste compactor that costs ~7000000 dollars
my view good ole has turbine
Gargle Diggs meh I prefer the perkins
army fun, the BEST fun, good job boys !!
Haha it says sexy back on the barrel
this mean that anywhere you are at, you can have fun!
How much does the abrams really way. From what I have heard when its loaded and fuelled.. 68tons
How many guys it take to remove a crushed oil drum from an M1 abrahms trac?
Nice. Showing our enemy how to stop a tank the cheapest way
How it feels to chew 5 gum.
Stimulate your senses.
Ok listen. This is actually very green for Earth. They just melt the drums down and make more. Think about it would you want to transport uncrushed pop cans, no, because it's more economical to crush em.
so you dont think they left that shit right there like trash?.....
milldabeast519 Probably, considering we air drop fuel to a lot of bases which comes out to $400 dollars a gallon, I just dont think we give a shit sometimes.

Wow! they are working so hard!
That's how you flatten the curve.
60 million-dollar can crusher nice
would they squish as much if someone was inside?
and the oil is spilling into the sand ... no one removes it? thanks guys
how come the driver reacts that quick on where the stuck barrel is?
they got a digital few in there for that area of the tank aswell?
Nice, this is hilarious haha, i'm enlisting in the Marine Corps this September, i really want to get Field 1812, do you have any tips for me?
First time in history of whole US, oil is treated like garbage
1:27 This tank is so weak that even a can can stop it
@m1a1jake so you use the oil in the tank.. then to flatten them you use the tanks... makes sence.....
World's most expensive mobile trash compactor.
Something something, EPA, something something dry sweep.
Anyone in the Army that worked with tracked vics in a motorpool should get that (I hope I've been up all night lol).
The man who fell foolish enough to run over him just look at what are you doing He continues to beat the hammer, even though it has been liberated
Greatest Tank ever !!!
I am wondering how much Jet Fuel it costed compressing those drums.
Tank is BEAST!!
Nice car. What's the mileage on it?
Well that adds new meaning to bash n burn! 😂😂😂
Thank you for serving
just one question, why empty the empty barrels
The best AT weapon you can get!
so to stop a tank just throw down lots of barrels cause it can't drive with them stuck on the tracks lol?
(soldier)-Fuck that barrel! (barrel)-NO... FUCK YOU!!!! LOL
Yeah lets show the world how awesome our tank is!!! Oh it got stopped by a little tiny pop can.
How many Marines you need to remove a barrel?
America is such a relaxed army lol Feels like T-14 can completely demolish their shit
They are getting learnt on how to drive in a straight line
A lone drum resisted the American aggression and temporarily disabled one of their tanks.
You know how much that chain cost?, using in not correctly I may damage the track,
i gues they do this to make the drums smaller when there gonna trow them away?
Yes world, when we "The Americans" are bored. . Rest assure we entertain ourselves at best however we can or feel fit.
as kid watching ww2 movies I had a fear of being crushed by a tank
That oil going on the ground was real good on the environment.
Fall down soldier vs ground:
Soldier kick repelled
Groun combo 3HITS!
How much fuel did they use to do that?
They drive a tank over barrels ... I see what my taxes are going for xD
And whilst the Americans played games with tanks and oil drums, the British were out getting the bad guys....
That looks like a barrel of laughs.
@pogisiG Diesels last longer than turbine engines. Will go many more miles or hours before overhaul compared to turbines. Turbines produce more power for their size compared to a diesel.
Well,that's a barrel of laughs
that makes some sense but 10 gallons damn you would think that would be one of the reasons they should put a diesel in that beast
I gues that this is the wprlds first military grade can crusher
He's got a rail road swing
Industrial soda cans VS one big rollie boi
...In order to reduce the number of trucks required to move these empty drums, we make them smaller by removing most of the air from inside the containers. Great video guys! Rock on!
So many educated civilians and people from other countries talking trash in the comments over U.S Marines boosting morale around base. Fuck sake everyone argues about anything with very little prior knowledge.
Glad to see my tax dollars hard at work.
no, ground guide. a guy in front of the tank telling the driver when to move forward or backward or pivot steer.
that is how you crush barrels like a tin can
@bpeterdude316 Chuck Norris has Bear hands? I wasn't aware.
Well, that's an interesting way to temporarily disable a tank - just a couple oil drums in their path.
I would fortify my position with those
Nice to see a $6+ million military resource being utilized in such important ways. $1,200 to gas that thing up at about .6 mpg.
well the instructions said „crush before tossing in the recycling bin“....
@Sweet68Camaro we use M9s with worn off bluing
Like folding milk cartons before you dispose of them.
why are they doing it with that barrels?
Sweet machine.
This tank is a 60 ton press WOW . 🇺🇸
Respect for you guys!
I thought it was a guy that got stuck I even peed my pants laughing :(
