Excellent video!! I’ve seen this before, and it just happened to me again on my cx5 GT. Have a 2016 Mazda 6. When driving with the Nav screen showing in normal daylight mode, all of a sudden the screen goes very dim so it is barely visible. It does not go into night mode, the colors are still day colors. The voice navigation directions are still working. If I turn off the ignition and then back on, the display is now totally dark and the backup camera is not working and none of the screen controls work. After leaving the car parked for a certain amount of time, eg. over night then the screen is back to normal. Could this be a heat related problem since it always seems to happen after an hour or more driving in strong sunshine in Florida? Have not had the opportunity to try the reset described in the video. The car is normally parked in a garage that gets hot, same as outdoor temperature. The problem is not very frequent, perhaps 1-2 times per year.

Hi buddy! I have the Mazda 6. The screen is going on and off while driving. I have reset the screen as you show in your video but unfortunately I have still having the same problem. Do you know how can I fix it? Many thanks.
Thanks a bunch for watching my video and taking the time to comment. Personally I would make sure all software is up to date, from your headunit/ infotainment, phone operating system and all apps. Please share an update, also if your headunit is bad, there are services that do remanufacturing for the fraction of the cost to replace.
What fixed mine was taking the SD card for navigation out and leaving it out. I also factory reset by going to settings then system and down to restore all factory settings.
Hi my apple carplay disconnected while i was driving. Got it to reconnect but apple carplay was not showing in my screen. Tried everything and still”show apple carplay” still not working. Will try this reset and see if it works

Thanks a bunch for watching my video and taking the time to comment. Sometimes even a hard reset of the car done the proper way is enough, but rarely.
Would this work for a 2022 mazda cx5? One day the infotainment unit wasn’t recognizing my iPhone and now CarPlay is missing and a very edited down list of things I can access on infotainment is there.
Thanks a bunch for watching my video and taking the time to comment. If you have the same button setup the reset should work. I would also check a few other things. 1. Please share an update, thanks.
I had a 2019 Mazda 3 with the same issue, the screen would not turn at all. Tried resetting following the procedure in this video and still didn’t work. Our mechanic inspected and found 2 blown fuses under the hood. Once replaced, the screen worked just fine, we believe that boosting the battery may have shorted the fuses. Hope this helps next person 😅
Thanks a bunch for taking the time to share this information. The fuses are a great place to start when something electrical is not working. Thanks again, and glad to hear your Mazda infotainment unit is working.

1. Make sure your phone’s software is up to date and all your apps are updated.
2. Make sure your cable is good.
3. Perform the reset with nothing connected to the system.
