ive been watching a lot of videos i want to purchase a cricut to make my labes and your video by far has been the most in depth and easy to follow thank you
Wow I was always wanting to make homemade labels because I save the big glass jars from pickles and I'm like wow this would be nice to store my flour n rice and now I know how to do the labels thank you so much this was so helpful and so cheap and affordable thank you
Andrea, THANK YOU sooooo much for such a detailed and thorough explanation!!!!! I have watched several videos, and this is the BEST! I think I’ll be able to actually make some vinyl labels for my pantry now! Then I’ll make some for under the bathroom sink, and bathroom closet. I really appreciate you explaining and showing ALL that you were doing for us beginners! 👍🏽💓
Hoping to make labels for tables today. Helping to organize a classroom that has about 400 kids coming through in a single day. I would like to find something for each student to place a notebook, pen,, a few crayons or markers, and a folder without the items coming loose in the organization crate. If you have any suggestions please share. Thank you.
I love this because I too have every canister and spice bottle in my kitchen labeled with vinyl. AND I also reuse my contact paper (transfer paper). LOL. I thought I was the only one. Btw, when weeding small words, etc, try reverse weeding. It's soooo much easier! Love your channel. TYFS

Thank you for the video. I literally needed a step by step how to and this was perfect. I've had my cricut since september of 2021. And only made 1 project that didnt come out 100%. You have renewed my faith!
Just bought a cricut and am very intimidated by it. Don’t know if any of your other subs would be interested in some tutorials but I know I would be.😻🇨🇦❄️
I got a Cricut for Christmas and decided to do pantry labeling as my first project. Your tutorial was so easy to follow. I would love to know what other websites you have used to download fonts. Thank you!!
I love you.. You aren't too happy, if that makes sense. Anyway, easy to follow and not alot of chatter about nothing. Do you have one on how to make a card with a Maker?
I’m so glad it could be helpful! Be sure to check out my updated Cricut labels video from a few weeks ago as well! ua-cam.com/video/i8A-Zb5hAIo/v-deo.html
Hi Andrea, that was so sweet of you to take the time to make this tutorial. It was so nice to see the entire process, including the font that you shared! I have a question. On the mat, how did you move all of the words at one time to get more spacing between words? In the video it looks like you clicked a certain button, and everything spaced itself more, unless you moved them individually off-screen? Thank you so much. Your jars look so amazing!
I have every label grouped. Some of the labels when I weld fill in the script "o" loop. I am using the exact same font. Other "o's" look fine after welding while some fill in that top loop of the "o".
I think I figured it out. I wrote down the size of the grouped label. I dragged it out to make it larger. I welded it at a larger size. For some reason that worked. Then I shrunk it down to the size I wrote down.
Looking at getting a cricut and was a little confused at when putting the vinyl on the mat as how to stick it to the mat without peeling the sticky back off so it still has the white background, I got a little lost, sorry if it sounds stupid haha x
They are permanent (especially if you use permanent vinyl), but even removable vinyl will not fade or scratch off. And yes, vinyl works on painted surfaces as well!
If you measure how wide and tall you want the label to be just with a ruler or measuring tape then you can enter those measurements into design space 😊
@@AndreaPeacockDIY what size do most people use? That’s where my problem is, not sure how big they should be. I know it’s personal preference, I just want it to look right. Thank you for your quick reply🤗
@@koortl1 There's honestly no such thing as the right size. Just make it a bit smaller than whatever surface you're working with. I used all different kinds of containers in this video and used different measurements for each depending on the size. If your container is 10cm wide, then you might want to make the label 7cm to have a bit of space on either side. You can always cut one and try it out. As long as the label fits it will look good.
The cutting is super fast, the only time consuming part is the weeding. Any of the Cricuts are amazing, depends what works for you. The Cricut joy is smaller, and the Maker can cut all kinds of different things. I have an explore and love it!
Thank you so much the video is helpful, however I have a problem, I tried to use one width size for all lables but it keeps changing the font size as well. therefore my labels are not the same size
If you make the width of a three letter word the same as a seven letter word (for example), the font size has to change. There’s no way to make the width of two different sized words the same without adjusting the font size. You could make them all the same font size instead, but if you have a longer word it will take up more space.
I could be overlooking it you referenced it, but where did you download that font from? I replayed the video a couple times and can't tell what you're saying. I'm sorry.
Hi, I'm a new follower. Thanks so much for your tutorial, it was very in depth and easy to follow. Question: I used the Bradley Hand font and ended up with individual letters for my labels which caused a mess when trying to weed them off the paper. Is that because I didn't attach them to each other? Thanks..
Thanks for watching! I just looked up that font, and it’s not cursive, so all the letters would be separated, which is fine. In order for them to be cut in the right order as words instead of jumbled letters you need to attach each word, then use the transfer tape to lift each word.
@@AndreaPeacockDIY Thanks for your quick response! How do I get the word to stay together when lifting them? I ended up with separate letters that kept moving when I lifted them. I welded them together before I made it so I thought that would do it.
I’m not sure what you mean about the word not staying together when you lift it. If you stick the transfer tape overtop of the letters, then the word will stick to the tape, and you can stick that onto your surface.
@@AndreaPeacockDIY So each individual letter in the word is lifting separately and not lifting as the total word like yours did. This makes it so I have to reposition each letter in the word before attaching the transfer tape.
It sounds like you have to press down more on the tape with the letters underneath before lifting it, or be a bit more careful when lifting the tape to make sure all the letters are sticking to it. It can be tricky with more delicate projects.
Thank you for sharing your video. However i need help with my labels. I am using hokey pokey script font which i purchased from etsy but when i make the labels, the sizing of my labels is not consistent. I default set the height to 1.5” for all my labels even though i am putting it horizontally. Some labels are coming too thick and some too thin depending on the letters of the pantry product. I see you set default width to be 7cm and not the height. Is it where i am making mistake. Is there a way i can send you the picture of what i am talking about and you can help me fix it. I don’t see an attachment link here on comments..?
Have you tried playing around with the sizing? For my labels, I didn’t care how tall they were, which is why I only adjusted the width. If your labels have to be a certain height though that makes sense. Each word is going to turn out a bit differently depending how long the word is. I’m not too sure what you mean by too thin or too thick. As in the letters? I would play around with the measurements.
@@AndreaPeacockDIY Hi Andrea, i wish i could show you the picture of the labels what i meant by thick and thin fonts. I purchased this font for a price, i am so annoyed with sizing and playing around with measurements.

How do you do reverse weeding? I have used vinyl plenty of times but this is my first time using a circuit. Pantry labeling is my first project.
The Cricut transfer tape can be difficult too, but it seems much better than the contact paper.

When you stick the vinyl onto the mat it has the white backing, and it sticks because the mat is sticky.
you should use transfer for vinyl, you will find it better for this work.

Hello Andrea,
What is the name of the script font you used in this video?
Hi there, I show exactly which font in the video when I’m showing the Cricut Design Space screen
Are the stickers permanent? E.g will they fade over time or scratch off? Also, would they work on a painted surface?
They are permanent (especially if you use permanent vinyl), but even removable vinyl will not fade or scratch off. And yes, vinyl works on painted surfaces as well!
Well done! 👍🏽
