Snippetmaster3000 Trust me this 335i sounds way more toned down compared to a F80 M3. The M3 sounds crazy, especially between shifts. Obviously it's louder than a stock F80 M3 but, modified vs modified the M3 sounds better for sure!

i’ve told myself that i’d never own a BMW because of the reliability stereotype, but this car looks and sounds so good. How has this car treated you reliability wise? i don’t wanna screw buy something that’s gonna immediately break down lol.
Save some extra money up and make sure to get a well maintained clean car with proof (that goes for any future Euro car you buy). BMW engines are actually fairly reliable contrary to popular belief, though surrounding components can fail with age and miles(lots of plastic next to heat sources). You have to stay on top of maintenance to keep these cars alive and well. If you don't love working on your own car and learning a crap ton of unique model differences, I would never suggest getting any BMW. If you do however, there's a ton of amazing cars just waiting to drain your wallet 😏 Sincerely - An E46 Zhp owner with 255,000 miles and going

I bought a 2013 bmw 335xi and had normal maintenance for it done, like valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket etc and I’ve never had a problem with it
Most electrical problems you’ll ever have with a car. My e30 had 0 problems compared to my 2015 335i. My sunroof locked while my friends Rear windows wouldn’t roll back up LOL
the n55 is actually pretty reliable as long as you’re performing average maintenance and don’t push it past 500hp you’re totally fine also make sure you’re not buying one with 150k miles and 8 owners who all treated it like shit

Yes n54 might be more powerful that n55 but atleast we n55 owner dont have to burn alot of money fixing car like n54 always problematic i have my 135i n55 pure turbo 2 having 500whp enough to have fun and beat some others tuners i have my car for 2 yrs never any issue how about your car how many times did u bring your car to the shop probably more that u owned the i bet lol
@@albertroque543 ha funny but I have over 180000 kms on my e92 n54 still original water pump, hpfp, turbos I have tuned it mhd stage 2 plus e40mix water methanol injection kit down pipes intercooler charge pipe I do all the work myself so luck of the draw I guess we must have got the better car over here in Australia. I forgot to mention the 135i is damm ugly LOL

At 2:11 with drive by it sounds similar to a 2jz supra. N54 and n55 shit all over in engine tone in current m3 and m4. Nice natural inline 6 cylinder sound.

Love the N55 sound, you need meth injection on top of pure stage 2 turbo to make 500 WHP on an N55 tho. E30 with stock fuel system will make maybe 450 at the most

I've been looking into the 335i with n55 motor. I've heard the reliability is a little higher than the n54. Have you had to do anything major maintenance wise and would you recommend the car?
Willie Contreras water pump for sure bro and make sure you get that coolant system checked ; before you buy check the engine bay for any oil leak residue anything other than that you should be good to go . Buy a charge pipe immediately don’t be stupid like I was

So I may be pulling the trigger on a 2011 E90 335xi and was wondering if anyone has a high mileage of this configuration? It has 178K but all highway miles and all dealer painted, 2nd owner, clean carfax.

Philip McIntosh i would not recommend that high mileage my 2011 e92 xi has had tons of problems all the time just hit 91k
bernal E92 lowest 2011 sedan i found is 91K haha. other options are like 122K. But i’ve had an E46 330ci with 227K the past two years and i’ve only put about $1K into it. Sure it’s NA and not turbo but still. The 335i that is 178K is highway miles just like my E46 was so I’m less worried about it
Mine sounds more raspy with just muffler delete.. 🤔 Wonder if that's because of the piping material or because I still have all cats and x pipe..Any recommendations? Should I just put some resonators in?
Imo n54/n55 single turbo single exhaust sounds better than duel exhaust. Also, the manuals have the same if not better ring than 2js.

Giovanni Romero can’t upgrade injectors. You can add port injection but the DI is what it is.

Clean N55 335 and great vid but can someone please explain what's the fascination with this "burble" effect? Is this the new cool thing to do? Are there any benefits or is it just for additional noise? I mean, it's one thing if your car does it naturally but why a special tune? Rarely do i see a 335i that hasn't had this done. Whatever happened to having a clean, smooth sounding exhaust lol.
good question lol. 335i's naturally have a pretty noticebale burble however the tune simply enhances it
To be honest the thing with tuners and fans of tuners like kids, they like that crazy flames and pops and cracks and burbles. I love them but I'm on the same boat you are on I wouldn't go for a specific tune to have they pop and crack, usually if you build a car with a healthy motor with a catless exhaust you get plenty of natural cracks and I would go an anti-lag setup for launch control if I want flames and proper performance but I don't think people look into that much they just like flames and gun shot noises. Which are nice but now when excessive

I have an N55 and before I did the catless downpipe and cowl delete I couldn't even hear the engine or exhaust over the wind while driving. I guess they keep it modest from the factory because they know that most people who buy them new are higher-class people who don't want an obnoxious exhaust.
Did Shane go with the pure turbo stage 2 PWG or EWG version? And also if u run the 3.5 inch catless downpipe does that mean u have to get pwg turbo since the ewg turbos use the 4inch catless downpipes aré can u still get the ewg pure turbos on the 3.5 inch downpipes vrsf

So straight pippin it made a check Engine light come on????????
you have o2 sensors before and after the turbo downpipe. So as soon as its truly straight piped, the catalytic converter is removed, which makes the o2 sensor on the bottom end of the downpipe think that the converter isn't doing its job, for emission reasons. Causing the engine light to come on. that can easily be fixed by shimming the o2 sensor out of the stream of exhaust gases to trick it into thinking its working okay. or by flash tuning the DME. You gain a bit of hp by removing the cat but then you aren't meeting emission codes, which technically makes it illegal, and doesn't allow you to have a valid saftey.
So will the light come on if I just remove the catalytic converter and leave the muffler and just straight pipe where the cat was?
Mark Farnsworth. Yes, as soon as the catalytic converter is removed it’ll cause an engine light to come on. If you plan on straight piping from where the cat was and back, I’d highly recommend going with a jb4 flash tune from burger motor sports. That’ll reprogram the DME to ignore the o2 sensor readings.
Stupid to not just have it decoded, since you want to change the map after going straight pipe! Catalytic converters (depending on where it sits and what type) usually don't reduce a lot of horsepower. But it's worse on turbo car and when going big power. (it depends really)
But the big thing people miss is that you lose throttle response and boost threshold. But also mid power and depending on setup just overall lower power :/

Why is turbos plural....the N55 has (one) Turbo...
The brand is Pure Turbos
the n55 motor comes stock with a "twin power turbo" it's technically a single turbo, but it has twin scrolls, meaning it catches two different types of exhaust flow. so two sizes of exhaust turbines to turn the intake turbine. for the low and high flow exhaust gases that varry with rpm.
There’s an option on the newer models for two turbos but I don’t know about the one in the video
