Yes this is a 1985 vintage... They were a brilliant live band back then - and so much more than the cabaret one hit wonder they are often portrayed as. Happy daze of mystery trips, riding the beetle and love, peace n bananas. Listening to goats are trying to kill me live at Alice's 45, as I type. cheers
Great - saw them so many times. It all changed after the 'hit' but up until then there was a special crowd, a great feeing and some fabulous nights out.
Early Doctor & The Medics were amazing.but success killed them.First saw them in 1985 on The Damned big tour along with another great band The Fuzztones.Great times.
Went to all the magical mystery tours before they hit it big They had a shop in Portobello road called Alice through the looking glass,I think? Amazing band.
I bought all the early singles, including the Whaam! one, but Miracle is still my favourite. I taped this from the tv on audio cassette as we had no vhs. Never got to see them live though. I did promote the shit out of them at the record shop and we were a chart return shop. After they hit big the rep presented me with a pic disc of the first album, which was nice. Miracle of the Age is still awesome.
Amazing how much they sounded like the album back then. Although in this recording, it sounds like someone set the audio recorder in front of the guitar player.

Bristol Bierkellar, 1985, I was there and hopelessly in love with The Anadin Brothers. Packed tight and sweaty.
I think I can see my flatmate Stick in the crowd. Can’t remember why I didn’t go, it was a long time ago….

The good ole days before that hit single killed the band
J'adore!
Goodnight Robert! Thank you very much for sharing, as it is very rare here in Brazil. Would you have the show at Alice in Wonderland, 1986-06-27?
This sounds more punk than the D&M I have heard... i did not know they had that side to them without the campy cover band sound .
1985 I think
Thr girls are Colette and Wendy?
