Hey Ash! My periods got bad during my time in college. I found out in 2019 that I had fibroids. I had surgery in 2021 and I’ve had so much relief. I still have cramps but, not like how it use to be. I suggest all women to get checked if they’re having heavy periods, sever cramps and clots.

I want to know why women have fibroids in their 20s. that probably happened to me too, but I was not wise to it.

I found out during pregnancy. Went from being heavy and cramping all day to having a light flow and no cramps

My heart goes out to all women who have to go thru painful periods, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
When I was getting my periods (currently on nexplanon), I could not function.
I had nausea, cramps (stomach, back and legs), diarrhea, headache, breast pain my flow was heavy and moving, walking, sitting, squatting was hell.
I couldn't even go to work the first day of my periods.
    I was often in tears.
My period routine was usually hot mint tea with two added peppermints for the nausea/diarrhea, I would take advil and flexeril (rx muscle relaxants, I would use the salon pas pain patches (one on my abdomen, one on each leg), I would use the blue/white bed diapers (what they use for bedridden ppl) to protect my bed and I would have to stack my pillows because I couldn't lay flat and I would lay under a heating blanket because I needed the heat on my entire body to help with the pain.
After years of this, me and my Dr decided b/c was the best option for me and I haven't had a period in years.
But, hearing women talk about it gives me flashbacks. Its traumatic to have to go thru that every month.

This video just came in handy….whenever it’s that time if the month for me, the only things that help me are drinking ginger tea, eating dark chocolate, and wearing two pads at once, because every female’s cycle is different, some of us have a light flow, some of us have an average flow, and some of us have a heavy flow…..I’m in that category. I’m definitely gonna try drinking that raspberry tea, using Epsom salt for a bath, and the period underwear.

Just a little tip, just regular inconsistent diapers work like the always period panties and they are a bit cheaper too. I've tried both and the adult diapers are my go to bc of the price.

I feel you on the Midol thing- I tried it and it made my cramps soooo much worse, and when I looked into it, I figured out it’s because typical midol has caffeine in it, which can exacerbate your cramps😭 I use Maxidol now instead, and it works really well for me (and doesn’t have the caffeine the original has) 🙏🏾

Coke Classic, oyster crackers and overnight pads. Also, bananas and oranges are natural pain killers. I tend to lean towards clean scents during that time (Sea Island Shore, Gingham, Endless Weekend, etc) If I go out, I put on Hello Beautiful or Champagne Apple and Honey. Love lavender vanilla pillow mist on my sheets fresh and clean. White T Shirt works wonders as well

Ooh! Another recommendation, ladies: Yam cream. Same idea as the topical. I second the Advil or BC powder if you can stand it. ALSOOOO: Use a cup. I promise. Find a cup. Luna is the one I use but a reusable cup have been a game changer for me and even helps with cramps.

I bought the always zzz's but had to return them bc they were heavily scented plus ain't nobody got time for hormone disruptors, an off balanced Ph followed by a yeast infection. So I tried the Rael Organic period panties💙. Made w/organic cotton that has been grown w/o the use of toxins, pesticides or synthetic chemicals. Fragrance free and perfect for sensitive skin. Ladies, If you don't have endometriosis or fibroids, check out increasing your IRON intake. I found a Harvard study which said that taking 150-200mg of Elemental Iron per day drastically reduces menstrual cramp and bleeding. It worked for me. Pain down 80%.

These always period panties been out years ago then made a come back the number 6 pads go in them too .............I make up kits cause my flow has gotten worse and being in healthcare I cant always run off when needed. Only when working im triple protected, these always, the #6 pad and a super plus playtex. I also keep huggies cocoa butter wipes (they are strong and dont tear up) and gloves and pain med in my bag. They made a 3 pack of always period panties years ago then took them from us and made them for bladder control. My store stays sold out these are great.

Most people are not aware, but there are so many teas that should be avoided during pregnancy. Mistletoe is another plant that you should absolutely avoid during pregnancy. Yeast infections are common during pregnancy and the brand AZO makes homeopathic pills that are great for yeast infections. Not while pregnant though. What helped me was Greek yogurt before bed. Always do your research :)

For dr. Teals What makes it the period formula? The plain one works so does lavender. Also the regular epsom salt baths from target.
